Chapter 488

Hearing this, the anger in Made Ying Zheng's heart only subsided a few points.

He suppressed his anger and then said.

"Oh, then tell me about it."

After finishing, Made Ying Zheng pressed his forehead again; he felt his entire brain was somewhat dizzy.

Watching Zhang Han behind him naturally saw Made Ying Zheng's actions and hurriedly stepped forward, taking an elixir from his bosom.

This elixir was given to him by the ghost back then.

The palace servant beside him also poured a cup of tea at a moderate temperature at this time.

Made Ying Zheng swallowed the elixir with the tea, only then feeling slightly better.

He gave a soft sigh and then looked at Prince Fusu with cold eyes.

"Give me a reason."

His voice was low and cold.

Prince Fusu looked at Made Ying Zheng's action of taking the medicine just now and was slightly stunned.

After hearing Made Ying Zheng's words, he came back to his senses.

"Father Emperor also knows that every time the army goes on an expedition, it must spend a large amount of military pay."

"But now, our Great Qin national treasury has long been empty because of the previous northwest drought."

"If we launch a long-distance expedition at this time, I am afraid the national treasury simply cannot support it."

Prince Fusu raised his head and looked at Made Ying Zheng seriously, saying word by word.

After Made Ying Zheng finished listening to Prince Fusu's words, the anger in his heart finally subsided a few points.

Made Ying Zheng, who was originally somewhat angry because Prince Fusu questioned his decision.

Realizing that Prince Fusu was only worried about the national treasury problem, he was not so angry anymore.

"I naturally know that the national treasury is empty."

"But the Great Qin border is, after all, Great Qin's territory."

"If I just let the Xiongnu invade our Great Qin border time and again, how can I save face?"

Made Ying Zheng said in a deep voice, with a hint of disgust for the Xiongnu in his eyes.

"As for what you said about the empty national treasury."

"As long as we increase taxes, we can at least solve this problem temporarily."

"When the army returns in triumph, we will reduce taxes for the world."

Made Ying Zheng had already thought about this problem.

That sum of silver before was truly lost, so he really had no extra energy to take out so much money.

Thinking of this, a deep light flashed in his eyes.

It was originally to frame Li Si, but he didn't expect to stumble into it, and the silver was really lost.

Watching Zhang Han behind Made Ying Zheng showed a solemn expression after hearing Made Ying Zheng's words.

He had not forgotten that the sum of silver was lost in his hands before.

During this period, he had also never forgotten this sum of silver, but because other things distracted his attention, he had no time to thoroughly investigate this sum of silver.

The clues from back then had long since disappeared; even back then, he could not find any clues.

But this matter had always been pressing on Watching Zhang Han's heart.

Tens of thousands of tax silver just disappeared like that.
