Chapter 528

"That's right, why gamble my future on someone else?"

Li Zhen's eyes immediately flashed with a glimmer of light.

He had been completely persuaded by Feng Quji.

If one relies on His Majesty's appreciation to obtain one's own power,

this is no different from pinning one's hope on someone else, which will likely only make one go lower and lower.

Li Zhen doesn't hope for the status and power he spent so long obtaining to be taken away by others.

"Can we guarantee our status if the next successor is Imperial Prince Hu Hai?"

Immediately, he had some doubts again.

After all, no matter who becomes the successor, his status is somewhat insecure.

"If there weren't some guarantees, why would we choose Imperial Prince Hu Hai to be the next successor?"

A smile appeared on the corner of Feng Quji's mouth,

as if mocking Li Zhen's naivety.

Li Zhen's eyes were dazed for a moment, and then a smile also appeared on his face.

That's right.

If there were no benefits in officialdom, who would be willing to do it?

"It was my oversight."

"What exactly should we do?"

Li Zhen asked again.

"Lord Li, just say what His Majesty means when it is time for you to speak."

Feng Quji said faintly.

With a simple sentence, Li Zhen immediately understood Feng Quji's meaning.
