Chapter 150

Why would he forge this kind of horse-chopping saber?

Wang Jian was utterly stunned!

He was overwhelmed with shock!

And just as he was utterly shocked, suddenly, Ying Su spoke up and shouted:

"Great Qin's Supreme General Wang Jian, hear my decree: I order you to be the Grand General of the Right Flank for the extermination of the Xiongnu!"

"Depart with Han Xin half a month from now, and you must annihilate the Xiongnu within one year!"

"What?"

The moment the words left his mouth, Wang Jian stood frozen in terror.

Then, with a thud, he fell to his knees; at this very moment, his heart held only shock!

Shock at Ying Su's boldness in employing people!

One must know, he had only pledged loyalty to him less than an hour ago!

Moreover, even that pledge of loyalty was forced upon him by Ying Su!

Yes!

Forced!

At the very beginning, his thoughts were simple: marry Wang Lan to Ying Su, and use Wang Lan to exchange for safety!

But Ying Su said nothing, which meant that would not do!

His goal was very clear: he wanted nothing but Wang Jian's loyalty!

Wang Jian naturally did not wish to, and had struggled and resisted fiercely.

But... Ying Su no longer mentioned Wang Lan!

That still meant no.

Wang Jian even suspected that as soon as Ying Su left the Wang family, the Limajiu Society would immediately issue an imperial decree!

Then Li Cunxiao or Yu Yu Huatian would lead men to the Wang family!

To arrest him on charges of high treason!

With no other recourse, he could only kneel and kowtow to express his loyalty, and even agreed to invite Seeing Ying Zheng to attend his and Wang Lan's wedding.

Only then did everything finally end.

But... this loyalty was truly not his true intention!

Even now, he was still torn and conflicted!

But... but... now he is using him like this?

Handing over command of his own hundred thousand troops to him?

Even... even asking him to lead troops alongside Han Xin to attack the Xiongnu?

What kind of trust is this!

"Emperor... this subject... what virtue or ability does this subject possess!"

Wang Jian was stunned!

At this moment, he knelt, cried out, and kowtowed!

Ying Su smiled and helped him up: "Old General, you have fought all your life for the nation and the people, and have made tremendous contributions to the unification of the Great Qin!"

"I am ordering you to attack the Xiongnu because I wish for you to contribute your remaining strength in your old age, and add another brick and tile to our Great Qin!"

"However, considering the Old General's advanced age, I hereby specially grant you permission not to personally go to the battlefield; instead, station yourself at the main camp and deliberate the battle plans together with Han Xin!"

Wang Jian immediately waved his hand: "No!"

"Although Wang Jian is advanced in years, this old skeleton still has some strength. If it were to quell internal rebellion or participate in the new Emperor's struggle for power, Wang Jian would be reluctant, but if it is to attack the Xiongnu, even if Wang Jian dies on the battlefield, he will do so willingly!"

"Furthermore, Wang Jian has one matter to inform Your Majesty of: to exterminate the Xiongnu, one hundred thousand men are not enough!"

"Even adding Li Yuanba is not enough!"

"The grasslands are vast; even if Your Majesty has cannons and Li Yuanba, one hundred thousand men are only enough to cripple the Xiongnu, at most preventing them from harassing the Great Qin for several decades or a century!"

"But to eradicate the Xiongnu forever, three hundred thousand men are indispensable!"

"Wang Jian is willing to advise the First Emperor to hand over the military command of Meng Tian's thirty thousand Meng family troops, and to have General Meng Tian dispatch two hundred thousand men to join forces with Han Xin!"

"Only then can the Xiongnu be eradicated forever!"

"Your Majesty, this subject requests permission to lead the expedition; this subject is willing to offer up this old skeleton for the grand strategy of long-term peace and stability for our Great Qin's border passes!"

At that moment, Wang Jian knelt and shouted!

At this very moment, his eyes were incredibly resolute!

And Ying Su gave his shoulder a hard slap: "Good!"

"Old General is truly a pillar of the nation!"

He praised him, and at the same time summoned Han Xin, Fan Kuai, and Zhou Yafu, among others, to meet with Wang Jian!

Wang Jian's great name is known throughout the world; there is hardly anyone in this world who does not know Wang Jian!

Now, seeing Wang Jian arrive with their own eyes, everyone was extremely excited!

One by one, they all knelt down to bow to Wang Jian.

Finally, led by the crowd, Wang Jian even inspected the training status of the hundred thousand troops!

And regarding this batch of troops, Wang Jian had only looked for a moment before he could not help but praise: "Truly a king's army!"

"Your Majesty, if this army were present, last night, even without Li Cunxiao, I fear I could not have taken Outside Xianyanggong!"

Wang Jian was shocked.

Those words were spoken with complete sincerity!

Mainly, looking at this army, he saw the shadow of the Great Qin's tiger and wolf army from years past!

Their eyes were exactly the same as those of the soldiers when Qin annihilated the six states!

They revealed a fierce aura, along with an unshakable belief in certain victory!

This is extremely rare in an army!

Especially when the entire army is like this, it is even more rare!

Facing Ying Su smiled but said nothing!

After Wang Jian finished his inspection, Han Xin presented his plan to attack the Xiongnu to Wang Jian.

After Wang Jian finished reading it, he could not help but give Han Xin a big thumbs-up: "Brilliant!"

"Truly brilliant!"

Then the two engaged in sand table battles and conducted various simulations!

Finally, the two of them reached a common conclusion!

That was, if there were three hundred thousand troops, plus Li Yuanba, and dozens of cannons, then annihilating the Xiongnu would not take even a year!

Half a year is the slowest method!

If they were ruthless, the battle could even be concluded within three months!

After reaching this conclusion, the two were excited together!

And this discussion continued until the middle of the night before it finally ended!

Even so, Wang Jian did not want to leave and insisted on staying longer.

In the end, it was Facing Ying Su who forcibly dragged him away:

"You are old, you have not slept for a day and a night, and continuing to stay up will be very bad for your health!"

After saying these words, Wang Jian was moved to tears. Finally, as if suddenly remembering something, he bowed and kowtowed to Facing Ying Su: "Your Majesty, this subject is guilty!"

"Guilty?"

Facing Ying Su looked at him with a puzzled expression!

Wang Jian sighed: "This morning, after my defeat, I was unwilling in my heart and determined to capture Your Majesty. Therefore, I advised the First Emperor that capturing you required experts, to knock you unconscious and carry you out of Outside Xianyanggong, and then use you to threaten Li Yuanba and Li Cunxiao into submission!"

"Your Majesty must be extremely careful these days, because... the Sky-Rank First-Class Assassin of the Net, Jing Ni, may appear near Your Majesty during this period!"

"Your Majesty, be extremely careful!"

"At all times, you must have Li Cunxiao guard your side!"

"This person is invulnerable to blades and guns; no one is more suitable than him to protect Your Majesty completely!"

Wang Jian bowed deeply!

"Hmm! Understood!"

Facing Ying Su nodded and said something else.

And Wang Jian said no more.
