Chapter 39

Ying Zheng thought to himself.

But he also understood that no matter how many thoughts he had, they were mere daydreams!

At this moment, he had no choice but to return to reality and asked Zhao Gao:

"What has that rebellious son been doing these days? The people of Dang Commandery must have cursed him terribly!"

"And killing Chunyu Yue—this act must have terrified the hundred officials, right? Many in the current court surely hold resentment against him!"

"And that general amnesty for the realm; by now, he should have already paid the price for his impulsiveness. He should understand that granting a general amnesty is not so easily done!"

Ying Zheng smiled.

Indeed!

During this period, he had been having people observe Facing Ying Su and report his daily activities to him.

And just thinking of the absurd things Facing Ying Su did on his very first day at court made him unable to hold back his laughter!

Mixing sand into the disaster relief grain in Dang Commandery!

Killing Chunyu Yue simply because he proposed the feudal system!

The most foolish thing of all was actually that so-called general amnesty for the realm.

Did he really think it was that simple to make the people stop suffering?

Besides the various human hearts and natures involved, the most crucial point is that one's own Qian Liang must be sufficient!

Did he really think the current national treasury was the same as it was right after unifying the realm? Abundant and plentiful?

In recent years, due to expenditures on the Great Wall, the Straight Road, the post roads, the eastern tour, and various other matters, the national treasury had long ceased to be so plentiful.

A general amnesty for the realm?

Can such a thing even be afforded?

He let the peasant people go three years without paying taxes, but what about Daqinchaotang?

How should the court's operations be maintained?

A fool!

This is a fool!

Acting entirely on a sudden whim, acting entirely on heated blood, paying no attention whatsoever to the actual situation!

And such a ruler is a mediocre ruler!

Busy as he may be, he is nonetheless ineffective!

Indeed, the busier he is, the more chaotic the state becomes!

For instance, Fu Chu—he was exactly this kind of ruler!

Facing Ying Su? He shows the signs of becoming that kind of ruler too!

Don't believe it?

Look at the two foolish things he did!

Mixing sand into the disaster relief grain and killing Chunyu Yue!

These are foolish acts!

Let's speak of Chunyu Yue first!

Indeed!

Chunyu Yue!

You see, Chunyu Yue is just one person himself.

But can't you see how many people behind Chunyu Yue support the feudal system?

When he first shouted for the feudal system, I already wanted to kill him.

But considering the noble families behind him, I had no choice but to yield.

But Facing Ying Su? He directly killed the man, and moreover, brazenly declared that discussing the feudal system was forbidden!

Hehe...

The story of Yu the Great controlling the floods has long taught all emperors one truth!

That is... when facing any direct conflict, blocking is never as good as channeling!

If you block the path they want to take for the feudal system, can they not get angry?

Will they not cause some trouble?

When preventing them from establishing the feudal system, one must also channel them, making them understand that even without the feudal system for the realm, they can still gain benefits!

Only thus is it the Great Dao!

Only thus is it the way of governing a state!

Governing a state—how can everything be solved with a single act of killing?

Therefore, Seeing Ying Zheng held great contempt for using killing as a method to resolve the feudal system.

He could even assert with certainty that Facing Ying Su's act would inevitably bring disaster upon him!

The wealth of the realm is held by the nobles in seven-tenths; did you think this was just a game with you?

Seeing Ying Zheng shook his head again and again!

And what he found even more ridiculous was mixing sand into the disaster relief grain!

How foolish!

Indeed!

How foolish!

The disaster victims have been waiting day and night with eager eyes for the disaster relief grain!

And the result... the disaster relief grain you distributed actually contained sand?

Especially, you are a new emperor!

And this is the first matter of state you handle, yet you deal with it so perfunctorily!

Hehehehe...

Ying Zheng laughed!

Laughing while shaking his head!

Likewise, he could not help but urge Zhao Gao again to speak of the situation in Dang Commandery!

He wanted to hear how the common people of Dang Commandery were cursing Ying Su!

However, faced with Ying Zheng's urging, Zhao Gao delayed answering for a long time!

"What? Has the report from Dang Commandery not yet returned?"

Ying Zheng looked toward Zhao Gao, his gaze chillingly cold!

Of course, he knew the report from Dang Commandery had returned.

Even if the imperial court had not yet received the report, Zhao Gao certainly had the news.

Remember, he controls the world's greatest intelligence organization, the Net!

In this world, no single event occurring anywhere can escape Zhao Gao's eyes!

And faced with Ying Zheng's constant urging, Zhao Gao pondered for a long time; finally, he still knelt on the ground with a thud!

Then, he held a piece of silk high above his head:

"Your Majesty, this is the evaluation of the new emperor by the people of Dang Commandery. This was obtained through undercover investigation by True Steel Duan Shui leading twenty Net personnel; there is absolutely no falsehood!"

"Please, Your Majesty... calm your anger!"

PS: Begging for flowers, begging for evaluation votes!!!

033. Does the new emperor far surpass the First Emperor? Ying Zheng explodes!

"Calm my anger?"

Hearing Zhao Gao's words, and seeing Zhao Gao kneeling on the ground, his body trembling continuously.

At this very moment, Ying Zheng felt a strange sensation.

Calm my anger?

What anger should I calm?

The people of Dang Commandery are cursing that rebellious son; what is there for me to calm my anger about?

Oh!

I understand; this Zhao Gao probably sees others cursing my son so fiercely and thinks I am displeased!
