Chapter 1000

After Shen Wansan left, Yu Huatian also returned.

"Your Majesty, I have already investigated the corruption at the border clearly and have returned to report to Your Majesty!"

Corruption!

Qin Mu's eyes turned sharp, and he narrowed them slightly.

"Tell me in detail!"

"Understood!"

Yu Huatian unfolded a thin piece of white silk, which was filled with dense, tiny characters.

Presumably, what was written on this white silk were the details of the investigations from various places.

Yu Huatian always carried it with him.

Yu Huatian is literate, which is where he is stronger than Wei Zhongxian.

Because of this, Qin Mu always kept him outside to handle some matters outside the palace.

Yu Huatian looked at the content written on the white silk and began to report.

"Your Majesty, I went to Liaodong and first had a face-to-face talk with General Qi Jiguang.

I learned that a wandering Daoist had once read his fortune and said that General Qi Jiguang had the destiny to be crowned a king!

Afterward, that Daoist stayed in a Daoist temple on the outskirts of Xiangping.

When I arrived, that Daoist was still in that Daoist temple and had not fled."

Crowned a king!

Ever since Emperor Gaozu of Han, Liu Bang, established the rule that those of different surnames could not be crowned kings, subsequent dynasties had silently observed this rule.

At the beginning of the founding of Great Tang, in order to buy people's hearts, Luo Yi was once crowned Prince of Yan. But at the same time, he was granted the surname Li and renamed Li Yi.

It was considered barely keeping the rule.

Even so, Li Yi later rebelled, and after his death, his surname Li and princely title were stripped.

Saying that Qi Jiguang could be crowned a king is a crime punishable by death!

Qin Mu listened to Yu Huatian's report and discovered a suspicious point.

"Since he is a wandering Daoist, why would he reside permanently in a Daoist temple?

Does he possess a force in secret?"

"Your Majesty is godlike in your foresight! Indeed, nothing can escape Your Majesty's eyes!"

Yu Huatian exclaimed.

He hadn't thought of this point at the time, so he had spent quite some effort investigating that Daoist.

"I first went to monitor that Daoist, wanting to see who he was in contact with.

As a result, when I looked, it was incredible; many officers in the Liaodong army often went to the Daoist temple to see that Daoist.

I felt that this matter was no small thing, so I first secretly arrested Qi Jiguang and interrogated him strictly for one night.

After General Qi Jiguang cleared his suspicion, he cooperated with me to arrest all those generals who were in contact with the evil person.

Afterward, the Embroidered Uniform Guard also wiped out that entire Daoist temple."

Qin Mu felt a bit of anger listening to this.

Even some generals in the Liaodong army had already been corrupted.

Qi Jiguang, as a great general, was still completely unaware, which was also a dereliction of duty.
