Chapter 179

Just as everyone was in doubt, the battle for the fortress had already begun.

"Kill! No matter what, we must take the fortress today!"

"Damn them, they killed so many of our brothers, I must take revenge!"

"They can't hold on anymore, brothers, charge!"

Wave after wave of Turkic cavalry attacked the fortress frantically; the tidal-like force of the attack was overwhelming to behold.

And at this moment.

The garrison inside the fortress was resisting stubbornly.

"We must hold! Even if we die, we must not let them break through the fortress!"

"Ah, ah, ah! I'll fight you to the death!"

"Hahaha, we have held it for decades; even if we die today, we have lived up to the Emperor!"

Both sides fought back and forth, their eyes already bloodshot.

On the small fortress walls, corpses kept falling from above.

Like a rainstorm!

At this moment, they were like irreconcilable enemies.

In their blood-red eyes, there were only two words.

Kill!

Gradually.

The garrison inside the fortress seemed unable to hold on.

Their numbers were at most only a thousand or so.

But the Turkic cavalry they had to face numbered at least ten thousand.

With such a disparity in strength.

Even using wheel tactics, they could be worn down to death.

The garrison inside the fortress fell one after another.

As one fell, another would fill the defensive position.

The leading general held his spear high and roared loudly.

"Brothers, today is our last battle. Kill to your heart's content."

"We... cannot go back home anymore!"

Following his shout, the garrison inside the fortress became even more spirited.

They defended against the Turkic army's attack regardless of their lives.

Some hugged the Turkic soldiers climbing the walls, falling to the ground together and dying while vomiting blood.

Others, risking being pierced by ten thousand blades, used their own bodies as human shields to trade one-for-one with the enemy.

The tragic scene made one's eyes blur.
