Chapter 658

He caught the hidden meaning in Empress Empress Zhangsun Empress Zhangsun Zhangsun Wuji's words.

"Could it be that it wasn't just about trade?"

Empress Empress Zhangsun Empress Zhangsun Zhangsun Wuji laughed.

"Trade? With a small, sparsely populated country Wu Li Ke Japan, how much money can be made from trade? Would it require such a grand display? Let me give you another hint: why did His Majesty let only me be responsible for the trade with Japan and forbid other noble families from interfering?"

Li Tai was even more curious.

This matter indeed had its suspicious points; many noble families had already expressed dissatisfaction, believing the Emperor was too biased toward Empress Empress Zhangsun Empress Zhangsun Zhangsun Wuji.

"Could there be some inside story to this?"

Empress Empress Zhangsun Empress Zhangsun Zhangsun Wuji stroked his beard and nodded, full of airs.

"This matter is known only to His Majesty and me. The imperial court will secretly allocate a sum of money to fund Japanese pirates to disrupt the Great Qin's shipping. In the future, those pirates will become a force in my hands. This is also the most secret force supporting you to become the Crown Prince."

Japanese pirates!

No wonder he said earlier that he could hire Japanese ninjas.

Li Tai understood.

Empress Empress Zhangsun Empress Zhangsun Zhangsun Wuji wanted to use this unknown force to secretly clear obstacles for him and help him ascend to the position of Crown Prince!
