However, they were no match for her.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Eleiney dealt with them in a timely manner. Her body seemed to move on its own. But now, her mind was in turmoil.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She had just killed a family of three, a family consisting of people who had probably never harmed a fly in their lives. If she hadn't, she would have been the one to die instead.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>However, her young mind could not process this.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In her eyes, the corpses in front of her didn't belong to abominations, but humans. They were people that she had interacted with during her short stay in this town.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her shoulders trembled and pearls of tears trickled down her bloody face. He assumed that his friend had been gravely injured.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>However, upon closer inspection, he learned that that wasn't the case.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He was astonished by what he was seeing and couldn't help but think to himself, Did she…\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Did she kill those people?\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He hastily ran toward her. \"Eleiney, are you hurt?\" He asked.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>However, the girl didn't reply.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Sensing something was wrong, Aiden could only look toward Yavia, hoping for an answer.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The wood spirit flew toward Eleiney and hovered in front of her face. She looked at the youth for a few moments before concluding, \"She seems to be in a state of shock.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Following that, she flew forward and placed her tiny palms on the girl's forehead. Then, a warm glow enveloped the youth's head.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>A few moments later, Eleiney's pupils constricted and she suddenly felt like she could breathe again.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>GASP!\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The girl took large mouthfuls of air, glancing at Yavia and Aiden in shock. \"W-When did you get here?\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"That was dangerous, Eleiney,\" said Yavia in a grim tone. \"If it were an enemy that came here, you would have died a gruesome death.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Eleiney, are you okay?\" Aiden knelt down before the youth, clasping her shoulders and asking in concern.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Y-Yeah… I am,\" said the girl.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"We don't have time for this,\" Yavia interrupted them, flying out of the house. \"We need to head toward the southern gate now!\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"Let's go!\" Aiden helped Eleiney up and led her outside.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Before leaving the house, she paused in her footsteps. She turned around and glanced at the fresh corpses of the family she had just killed.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her eyes reddened and her lips quivered involuntarily.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"…I'm sorry.\"\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She then turned back around and left the house with shaky steps and a broken heart.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Such was the way of the world.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>In the shadows of war, children grew up faster than they should, becoming adults before their time.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>…\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>An ominous metamorphosis was taking place inside the black miasma at the center of the crater.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>After those five werewolves had been reduced to blood and flesh, and merged with the miasma, an oppressive aura of energy began fluctuating from it.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>It made Adam tremble at the sight of it. He couldn't help but nervously gulp, thinking to himself, I had expected the bastard to be strong… but not this strong!\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>THUD!\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He dropped the severed heads of the deformed werewolves he was holding onto the ground.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>A few dozen of these creatures had managed to make it to the crater, however, Adam had efficiently dealt with all of them.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Unlike his student, however, there was not a shred of remorse in his cold, dark pupils.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He gazed at the black miasma undulating in fixed frequencies and couldn't help but become extremely solemn. He got to his feet and looked in the direction of the miasma.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\"What… what just happened?!\" He had never come across such a barrier before.
