Chapter 15: Welcome Back to the Past, Krystal
【New Space-Time 2025】
Evening, inside the Villa, the lights were just being turned on.
"Let's go, shall I treat you to dinner in the past?"
When Krystal heard this, she thought Lin Xiuyuan had misspoken and laughed, "It's 'go to the past to have a meal'."
However, Lin Xiuyuan shook his head, looking at her with a faint smile on his lips, "I didn't misspeak, let's go, go inside and eat."
"Is it a restaurant inside?"
A puzzled Krystal walked over from the side of the sofa, and when she reached The Gate, she carefully poked her head in.
What came into view was not a kitchen, nor a restaurant, but an unfamiliar wall, along with the faint sound of rain, as if the background noise of another space had quietly seeped in.
Not having reacted yet, she looked at Lin Xiuyuan, "No, your villa is so accessible, does it really have so many rooms?"
Lin Xiuyuan smiled, "Go in."
Krystal subconsciously looked back at the empty and quiet villa hall behind her, hesitated for a few seconds, and finally stepped through The Gate, arriving in the time behind the door.
Lin Xiuyuan followed closely behind, and the door closed.
Then, he looked at Krystal, who had looked past the interior after entering and stared straight at the rainy scene outside the window, standing there in a daze, and offered a sentence.
"Welcome back to the past, Krystal."
At this moment, if there were a display screen above their heads, the tag that originally read 【New Space-Time 2025】 would be quietly flickering, gradually blurring, and finally becoming clearly visible as the words 【Old Space-Time 2013】.
Hearing these words from Lin Xiuyuan, Krystal's heartbeat suddenly accelerated; she opened her mouth but found herself momentarily speechless.
In her perception, time seemed to have stopped around her; her once clear and orderly cognition began to collapse, chaotic thoughts surged like a tide, and the common sense and logic she had once firmly believed in instantly became fragmented.
She took a good while to calm down before slowly examining the room.
Under her feet was slightly worn wooden flooring, the wall clock ticked "tick-tock," and it intertwined with the pattering rain outside the window to form a melody that was both strange and familiar, invading her ears.
So she subconsciously walked to the window, her fingers gently brushing the fine layer of dust on the windowsill, and her gaze then looked down at the scene on the street outside the building.
The styles of the vehicles passing by on the road were clearly heavier with the sense of an era older than the one she was in; some young people dressed in the trends of more than a decade ago walked by holding umbrellas, holding old-fashioned mobile phones in their hands, with wired earphones hanging by their ears, and the rainwater shimmered with a pale yellow light under the streetlamps.
Even the air carried an indescribable sense of familiarity, as if it were the scent of laundry detergent she often smelled in her youth.
"This isn't right, it shouldn't be..."
Krystal muttered to herself, her voice so soft it was almost swallowed by the rain outside the window.
Suddenly, she turned around abruptly to look at Lin Xiuyuan, who had been following her, her eyes filled with disbelief, "Wait, what did you just say, back to the past?"
Lin Xiuyuan didn't explain further; he just reached out to pick up the remote control on the coffee table, turned on the TV, and tuned it to the news channel.
Soon, Krystal's brain went "buzz" upon seeing the content on the television, and she almost immediately denied it, "That's impossible, how could there be such a thing in this world..."
Her words stopped abruptly, as if she had realized something, and she turned around and rushed toward the door she had just entered, pulling it open.
The result was only a tiny, cramped storage room.
When she wanted to question Lin Xiuyuan, the latter had already arrived by her side, gently closed the door, and then immediately opened it again.
The scene changed instantly; it was no longer a storage room, but the villa the two had just come from.
If Krystal had still been suspecting that this was a trap set by Lin Xiuyuan, then after this scene had truly happened before her eyes.
That door, which was like magic... no, it was magic, forced Krystal to start feeling short of breath.
And the current unease and the unknown made her instinctively take a step back, then bump into Lin Xiuyuan's arms.
This collision did not create any ripples, nor did any romantic feelings occur.
There was only Krystal, who looked back at Lin Xiuyuan, "So this is really another space-time?"
"Genuine and authentic."
"What time is it?"
"2013."
"2013, raining, 2013, 2013... 20..."
Krystal, muttering over and over as if this could make everything before her return to normal, suddenly thought of something; her eyes sharpened, her pupils dilated suddenly, and a tremor began to appear in her voice.
When she looked up again at Lin Xiuyuan's expression of having everything under control, "Is it because of what I said yesterday?"
Lin Xiuyuan didn't answer, just looked at the rainy day outside the window, "What now? It's raining. In this unexpected weather, do you still want to go out to eat?"
Listening to his voice, Krystal stood where she was, her heart shaken.
She couldn't understand whether she had stepped into a fantasy adventure or had been drawn into a mystery whose fate had long been arranged.
She only instinctively realized that from this moment on, the world was no longer the way she had known it.
But she was surprised to find that she was not afraid.
Because when she realized that this was 2013, the heartfelt nostalgia from the bottom of her heart actually outweighed all the fear and unease of the unknown.
So when Krystal heard Lin Xiuyuan's words, she immediately indicated, "Go, let's go out to eat, I want to go to a restaurant to have a meal."
"Then we'll just have to use an umbrella."
Lin Xiuyuan didn't ask why, nor did he ask where to go; he turned around, rummaged for an old umbrella from the side of the entryway, and looked at Krystal, "There's only one, you don't mind, do you?"
"I don't." Krystal shook her head, her brows anxious, "Let's go quickly."
"Mm."
Soon, the two who had walked out of the Apartment arrived downstairs.
And when Krystal saw Lin Xiuyuan standing at the entrance of the Apartment looking in both directions, she was a bit curious, "What are you doing?"
"Looking for a taxi. I'm a pauper here; I don't have a GLS, only these two legs of mine."
This slightly self-deprecating, yet humorous answer made Krystal, who had been tense, feel inexplicably much more relaxed, and she giggled.
Then she looked at the boy beside her very seriously, "So are you a person from 2013, or from 2025?"
"I'm from here; that door was an accident."
As Lin Xiuyuan gave the answer, Krystal's clever little head quickly figured out everything from a moment ago, but she was still a bit puzzled, "Then why did you find us, and that Debt Note, what exactly is going on?"
"Let's talk about that later, a car is coming, go, go, go, we need to go over and flag it down."
Lin Xiuyuan, who had been watching the road, suddenly shouted, then he quickly opened his umbrella, pulled Krystal under it, and ran straight into the rain.
Krystal, caught off guard, just instinctively pressed close to him, and under that narrow umbrella, shoulder to shoulder, they walked into this curtain of rain from a past time, from 2013.
Thirty thousand words speed-run of the JK sisters, confetti, the end... and this newbie says they dare not compare themselves to others, only timidly asking for some votes, asking the big shots to support me~
