I doubt you’ll be able.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He laid on the first one without waiting.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her right leg jerked up as she hissed. “Oww!”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Back in position.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She complied immediately, so Lucifer didn’t threaten her further.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He tapped her backside again, and she started crying, the pain slowly catching up with her.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her shoulders shook, but she didn’t make a sound.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The cane cut through the air, and he saw her skin sink in with the impact.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She started making sounds after that one—a harsh gasp and then the stuttered note of tears.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She kept her feet down that time, but her back curled.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Arch your back.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Hermione didn’t hesitate, sticking out her bum for him.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her skin was screaming, but she didn’t want to seem obstinate.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer laid the next one on below the first two.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“F-Fuc---” She made a choked scream in her throat and balled her hands into fists on the seat.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He could see her tears pooling on the leather.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Steeling himself, he tried to block out the sound of her crying.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>'Just three more, Lucifer. She has to learn...'\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The cane marked the next line of impact.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer brought his arm back and struck her for the fourth time.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She popped up and immediately forced herself back down, kicking her leg once against the stone floor to loosen the sting.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her sobbing became uncontrollable.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He went lower, right over her sweet spot.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She wasn’t going to like this.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The cane cracked against her bum.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>No sound came out of her for several seconds, and then she gasped and sobbed even louder, “bwaahh!!”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer wanted to get it over with.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Listening to her cry that hard made him sick to his stomach.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Last one,” he whispered. He wasn’t sure if he was reassuring her or himself.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The last stroke landed with a sharp crack, and she rocked forward with the impact.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Hermione wanted to lie down on the floor and rest.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>It felt as if she’d just run a mile.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She couldn’t breathe through her nose, and her head was getting light and sparkly as if she might faint.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her bum hurt too much to stand.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer helped her up and ran the tip of his wand down her nose. Her sinuses cleared.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Hermione couldn’t stop crying, but at least she could breathe again.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He picked her up and sat in the chair with her curled sideways in his lap.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>His hands smoothed lightly over her backside, but her bum continued to blaze like an inferno.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Shhh,” he whispered. “Look at me.” He cupped her face as she cried.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“You were excellent, pet. You can rest now.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Uahhh....” Hermione buried her face in his shoulder and cried harder.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She couldn’t think about any further punishment.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her world didn’t extend beyond the searing heat crisscrossing her backside.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer held her tightly. He wasn’t one for nurturing, but he’d do whatever he could to get her to stop crying.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>When he ran his hand up and down her back, she slowly started to calm.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“That’s my good girl,” he whispered. “It’s all over. Take a deep breath.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>He didn’t care if Samael could hear him or what he might thought.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Caning her for fun and caning her for real were two different things, and he hoped he wouldn’t have to ever do it again.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Pulling her face from his shoulder, Lucifer made her look at him. “You were perfect. Do you hear me? I couldn’t have asked you to do better.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Hermione nodded and wiped her wet face.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>As long as he kept petting her back and whispering to her, she’d be all right. “Is he okay?”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer stared down at her for a few blank seconds and then started to laugh. “She wants to know if you’re okay, Samael.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>His clone’s brows rose in surprise. “Me!”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer’s head fell back against the chair as he chuckled. “I think she’s worried you’ve been traumatized.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Me? She’s the one with black and blue lines covering her bum. Bloody hell, Granger. How are you going to sit tomorrow?”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Lucifer kissed her forehead.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“I think Samael needs some assurance that you are really all right. Please give it to him. He looks as though he wants to punch me in the face.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Hermione gave him a weak smile.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Her fingers were clamped so tightly around the front of his shirt her hand ached.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“I’ll be o-okay.....” Her voice came out sounding shaky and quiet.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“What was that?” Samael leaned forward in his chair so he could hear her better.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Swallowing the lump in her throat, Hermione said it louder, “I’m okay.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“You don’t look okay,” he muttered.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Hey?” Lucifer whispered to her.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>'Every part of me does care about you.....'\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>“Would you like to show him your pretty new marks?”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The entire evening had been overwhelming for her.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Extreme pain was not a turn on (and neither was Lucifer’s disapproval), but thinking about Samael inspecting her bum did turn her on just a little.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>She wasn’t ready to leave Lucifer’s lap though. “Don’t let go of me, sir.”\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>His lips twitched, and he nodded. “I won’t.
