Chapter 212: Bullying from a Doctor (Part 1)
Holding his breath and focusing his mind, Ji Xiang arrived in the System Space.
"Teacher." Ji Xiang gritted his teeth, recalled everything once more, and steeled his heart.
Just treat it as an immersive game.
When you go to a haunted house, you wouldn't actually think there are ghosts, would you?
When you go to an amusement park to ride a drop tower, you wouldn't actually think you're jumping off a building, would you?
He couldn't be both cowardly and eager to play.
"What's wrong?" The System NPC seemed to know everything; he asked with a smile.
Ji Xiang first picked out the things he had experienced to talk about, then said, "Teacher, I want to use Empathy."
"This matter is indeed worth using Empathy for." The System NPC said indifferently, "Are you ready?"
"Um, ready... I guess..." Ji Xiang nodded and said hesitantly.
"According to statistics, you have actually already passed the most difficult Empathy; death is the heaviest." The System NPC said, "So don't be nervous. Although this Empathy won't be pleasant, there are many details you can experience."
"And it won't be cut off; that's an old surgical technique from who knows when."
Ji Xiang trusted the System NPC very much. Hearing him say this, Ji Xiang breathed a sigh of relief.
"Go take a look." The System NPC beckoned and led Ji Xiang to the next Operating Room.
He seemed certain that Ji Xiang would use Empathy, without a hint of surprise.
Light and shadow flickered; Ji Xiang opened his eyes and was sitting in front of a Doctor.
The Doctor was in his forties, wore glasses, looked a bit like Chow Yun-fat, had a square face, wore his hair slicked back, and was somewhat handsome.
"What's wrong?" The Doctor didn't look busy and asked slowly.
Ji Xiang recalled his memories as quickly as possible; he appeared as Jing Liang, but the age was off, so he figured it wasn't the real Jing Liang.
"Himself" was 61 years old. A month ago, while taking a bath, he discovered a small white dot on his head, but he hadn't paid attention to it at the time.
Who has nothing better to do than examine a little white dot every day? Especially since he was already 61; the important things in his youth had already been let go and put aside.
Therefore, this white dot was naturally ignored.
"Himself" usually never went out to play, went to bed early and rose early every day, and went out at five o'clock to walk the family husky.
The daily amount of exercise was so much that even the husky couldn't take it; when it got home, it would collapse like a dead dog and fall asleep.
Tearing up the house? That didn't exist at all.
His recollection was interrupted by the Doctor's question across from him.
"Jing Liang, what exactly is uncomfortable?" The Doctor who looked like Chow Yun-fat asked again.
Ji Xiang felt helpless. How did his thoughts drift to that husky named Caituanzi? If he were to raise a dog, he definitely wouldn't name it Caituanzi! Naming it Sha Paozi would sound better than that.
"Old Yang, I have a white dot growing here; it's been there for a long time." Ji Xiang said.
He knew this Doctor across from him, and the two of them spoke quite casually.
"Let me see." The Doctor picked up a PVC film glove from his side, put it on, and pulled the curtain shut while waiting for Ji Xiang to take off his pants.
The examination began, and Ji Xiang also took a look himself.
It was larger than a millet grain and ulcerated, but not deep.
"Old Jing, it's not that I'm lecturing you." The Doctor's tone of contempt could no longer be hidden. He glanced at it and said disdainfully, "How old are you, still going out and messing around? Messing around is one thing, but doing it for real without any protection?"
"..." Ji Xiang was stunned.
"Himself" was over 60 years old; what kind of nonsense was this?
Was he talking about him walking the husky every day?
But this sentence had no ambiguity at all; what Doctor Yang meant was that he had a history of promiscuity.
Damn it!
Countless grass-mud horses galloped through Ji Xiang's heart.
This is penile cancer, penile cancer!
Ji Xiang really wanted to... forget it, those images were not suitable for children; even thinking about them would require a mosaic.
"The diagnosis is very clear; it's condyloma acuminatum." Doctor Yang turned around and took off the film glove. "I'll prescribe a treatment for you, but don't go out and mess around in the future."
"Doctor Yang, I..."
"I know, you went to a bathhouse, everyone says that." Doctor Yang's disdain was not concealed at all as he opened the order on the computer. "I'll prescribe two sessions of photodynamic therapy for you; hurry up and get treated."
"What is photodynamic?" Ji Xiang asked.
"It's using a Laser to blast off the condyloma acuminatum. Look at you, how old are you and you're still so willing to play." Doctor Yang kept nagging repeatedly about this "playing" business.
It was as if standing on the moral high ground allowed him to talk about others without restraint; Doctor Yang had no scruples.
Ji Xiang was somewhat angry. He really wanted to throw the Medical Record in Doctor Yang's face, then give him a piece of his mind and ask this idiot Doctor what the symptoms of condyloma acuminatum were.
Although he wasn't a dermatology Doctor yet, Ji Xiang had the most basic understanding—Doctor Yang was biased, believing that the little white dot on his head was definitely condyloma acuminatum, with no other possibility!
Damn it! Ji Xiang cursed inwardly.
But in just an instant, Ji Xiang calmed down.
He immediately realized that the Patient named Jing Liang was divorced; could it be related to the Doctor's misdiagnosis?
Being given such a diagnosis when one is 61 and can walk a husky until it's exhausted every day—Ji Xiang was speechless.
After paying, getting the needle inserted, and injecting the photosensitizer, Ji Xiang waited to undergo photodynamic therapy.
Ji Xiang didn't know about photodynamic therapy; he was just a Standardized Training Student, and his Clinical experience was severely lacking.
Judging by the name, it sounded like Laser treatment.
While waiting, Ji Xiang started searching online.
The internet said that photodynamic therapy is a new method that uses photosensitizing drugs and Lasers to treat Tumors, precancerous lesions, proliferative skin diseases, and vascular diseases.
Since it had the effect of treating Tumors, Ji Xiang felt relieved.
Arriving at Guangdongli Shi with Doctor Yang Yisheng, Ji Xiang took off his pants and lay down.
Doctor Yang Yisheng seemed very certain that Jing Liang had a "dirty" disease, and the look of contempt on his face along the way annoyed Ji Xiang; he really wanted to give Doctor Yang Yisheng a shot.
Can't even diagnose a patient himself, yet he's still so damn righteous?
Because it was the virtual space of Empathy, Ji Xiang just endured it.
But Doctor Yang Yisheng's attitude made Ji Xiang feel very hurt.
Just like that time with the Empathy of Renal Auto-amputation, a self-righteous doctor's casual remark, expression, or action could cause critical damage to the Patient and other innocent people.
Treatment began.
The treatment process was relatively simple; the machine emitted a beam of light that landed on the white spot on his head.
It wasn't exactly painful, but it felt a bit strange if it didn't hurt.
Soon, Doctor Yang Yisheng called for Ji Xiang to get down.
"Old Jing, go back and rest, come back for treatment in a week," Doctor Yang Yisheng said, then curled his lip, "Stop messing around, it's dirty. You're an old bag of bones, don't you know that lust is a knife hanging over your head?"
The words "lecherous old man" were practically about to "spray" out; Ji Xiang forcibly controlled himself, only then suppressing the urge to reason with Doctor Yang Yisheng.
Silently heading home, Doctor Yang Yisheng's face kept flashing before Ji Xiang's eyes the whole way.
Ji Xiang thought of the System NPC; perhaps a simple penile cancer wouldn't cause such great harm to a Patient. Instead, the greater psychological trauma was caused by the doctor at the Outpatient Department of Dermatology, which left Ji Xiang speechless.
