Chapter 214: Bullying by the Doctor (Part 2) (Alliance Leader sueyee)
His hands were gripping the hands of the Emergency Department doctor, his head bowed between his arms as if to touch the ground. This bizarre posture did not make one feel like laughing; instead, it gave Ji Xiang a sudden realization.
Moreover, Ji Xiang quickly saw the face of the Emergency Department doctor.
It was very familiar, seen during a previous instance of Empathy; it was the very Zhou Yisheng Congwen that Ji Xiang had always assumed to be the one in the System NPC's mouth.
Only last time he was an invited expert, while this time he was an Emergency Department doctor.
"You're too kind," Zhou Yisheng said with a hearty laugh. "It's a small problem, don't overthink it. Take the Medical Record I wrote, and just have a dermatologist at the Dermatology Department take a look at it tomorrow."
"Yes, yes, yes." The burly man bowed repeatedly like a chick pecking at rice; Ji Xiang could vaguely hear the creaking sound coming from his lumbar discs.
He was truly afraid that in the next second, the burly man's waist would snap with a "crack."
If this had happened before the Empathy, Ji Xiang certainly wouldn't have understood; it was just a "small" ailment in dermatology, and the burly man's behavior seemed a bit excessive.
But after having experienced it, Ji Xiang understood his mental journey.
He reckoned that, just like himself, he had been afraid, and after the "talk therapy" from the Emergency Department... Zhou Yisheng, a heavy burden had been lifted from his heart.
"Salute Zhou Yisheng." The burly man finally let go of his hands, turned around to look at the tattooed men he had brought with him, and said in a deep voice.
"Hello, Zhou Yisheng."
Several tattooed men bowed, their movements uniform, countless times better than the average street hoodlums.
Zhou Yisheng was slightly embarrassed and waved his hands repeatedly, signaling them not to be so formal, then greeted the next Patient to enter the Consultation Room, and exchanged a few more polite words with the burly man before it was over.
Ji Xiang watched the burly man leave with the several tattooed men, his heart stirred.
He did not leave, but waited for Zhou Yisheng to be free to chat for a few moments.
However, the busyness of the night shift in the Emergency Department exceeded Ji Xiang's imagination; there were car accidents, trauma cases, and a group of students who had fought until their heads were broken and bleeding, coming in for Suturing.
It wasn't until after ten o'clock in the evening that the corridor finally quieted down.
Ji Xiang got up from the hard plastic chair to chat with Zhou Yisheng while he hadn't gone to rest yet.
"Knock, knock, knock~"
Ji Xiang knocked on the door.
"Come in." Zhou Yisheng looked up. Ji Xiang examined him carefully; there was no difference from the one in his memory.
It really was a twisted sense of humor, or perhaps Zhou Congwen had created this based on his own Clinical experience; Ji Xiang didn't know if that was the case.
He smiled and walked into the Consultation Room.
"From the manufacturer? I saw you sitting outside for a long time," Zhou Yisheng laughed. "Usually it's young people running Clinical work; at your age, it seems a bit inconvenient, doesn't it?"
"..." Ji Xiang was stunned, only then realizing that he was in the Empathy system and was an Old Man who had already retired.
"Zhou Yisheng, I am a Patient," Ji Xiang said softly.
"Ah, I'm sorry," Zhou Yisheng said hurriedly. "Old Man, what's the matter with you?"
The current Zhou Yisheng seemed a bit reckless; Ji Xiang smiled inwardly, as he was somewhat different from the one he had met last time.
Then again, otherwise, how would he have met him in the Emergency Department?
"Doctor, just now I saw those few socialites standing at the door, they were..."
Zhou Yisheng frowned and glanced at Ji Xiang.
"I... also have a similar problem," Ji Xiang hurriedly explained.
"So that's how it is." Zhou Yisheng felt relieved, as everything now had a reasonable explanation. He said with a smile, "Some doctors have big mouths with no boundaries; they see a wart and call it a condyloma acuminatum. What is that even supposed to be?"
"This thing comes in many types..."
Zhou Yisheng glanced at Ji Xiang, not starting a lecture mode, but saying quite casually, "For example, the warts that grow on hands are just common warts. Back then, there was a saying about male warts and female warts, hahaha."
Ji Xiang also laughed along.
"They are all caused by viruses; it seems that in their eyes, there is only one kind of virus in this world. Damn it, I don't know who they learned that from," Zhou Yisheng cursed. "Old Man, what is your situation?"
"I..." Ji Xiang couldn't quite accept the term "Old Man."
"Let me take a look," Zhou Yisheng said. "I'll see what the situation is. By the way, the Patient just now had a common wart on his lower abdomen, and he went to three hospitals and they all said it was... sigh, where do they even get these ideas."
"Zhou Yisheng, is your diagnosis accurate?"
"They are two completely different things; I can tell at a glance." As Zhou Yisheng spoke, he pulled the curtain next to the examination bed. "Come, let me take a look."
Ji Xiang unbuckled his belt.
Zhou Yisheng took a glance, his expression turning serious.
He glanced at Ji Xiang, "Old Man, did you come by yourself so late? Where is your family? It's not warm outside; it's better to have someone taking care of you."
"It's penile cancer, isn't it?" Ji Xiang said calmly.
Zhou Yisheng was clearly still a bit green; he had wanted to keep the previous topic light, but when it came down to it, a young person like Ji Xiang could immediately hear the clues.
So the Zhou Yisheng Congwen in the System NPC's mouth had also grown up bit by bit. Ji Xiang felt amused, and the previous gloom was diluted quite a bit.
Hearing Ji Xiang say this, Zhou Yisheng was clearly a bit uncomfortable; he stopped mid-sentence.
"Zhou Yisheng, I roughly figured out what's going on, you don't need to comfort me. I just wanted to ask, to confirm it," Ji Xiang sighed. "Sometimes, I'd rather have cancer than have others misunderstand me."
"Don't say that," Zhou Yisheng said.
"It's true," Ji Xiang stared into Zhou Yisheng's eyes. "Zhou Yisheng, is there any good way to handle this?"
"Of course, but you need to go to the Urology Department. From the appearance, I see it's not a good thing, but you still need an Expert from the Urology Department to make a diagnosis."
After chatting with Zhou Yisheng for a while longer, another Patient entered, and Ji Xiang walked out of the Emergency Surgery Consultation Room with the Outpatient Department Medical Record.
Whether it was because of the System NPC or not, Ji Xiang just found Zhou Yisheng agreeable.
And his experiences over these two nights, along with the performance of that underworld boss, made Ji Xiang's understanding of this matter even deeper.
This was not as simple as it looked.
No wonder Jing Liang was hospitalized alone; it looked like he had already been "bullied" by the dermatologist who had seen him previously.
Ji Xiang also knew that he was considered a slow-paced case, but he still took Zhou Yisheng's Medical Record and went to the Urology Department.
The Resident Chief didn't even want to look at it at first, intending to dismiss Ji Xiang to the Outpatient Department tomorrow. But upon hearing that it was Zhou Yisheng who had sent him up, he revealed a strange expression.
"Xiao Zhou, he is still so willing to meddle in other people's business."
"Doctor, what happened to that Zhou Yisheng from the Emergency Department?" Ji Xiang asked curiously.
"Relying on having a bit of skill... well, he does have quite a bit of skill, but he is very overbearing in how he does things." The Urology Department Resident Chief said this, yet let Ji Xiang into the Consultation Room.
During the physical examination, the Urology Department Resident Chief said with certainty, "It should be penile cancer, still in the early stages; go to the Outpatient Department tomorrow to get an admission order."
"Are there any beds available?" Ji Xiang asked worriedly.
"Even if there aren't, there have to be." The Resident Chief said, "It's early stage, so we can perform a Partial Resection + Lengthening Surgery; it can basically be cured without any impact. But if it's too late, there won't be this opportunity."
"However, you are lucky to have met Zhou Yisheng. Many people are delayed and only arrive when it's in the late stages."
