Chapter 84

"Anything else?"

The Son of Heaven asked again.

This time, Yuan Feng did not step forward.

Instead, He Jin, under Yuan Feng's signal, stepped out: "Reporting to Your Majesty! Currently, the rebel army is powerful, exceeding one million, and the military preparedness in various places is lax. The capital's Imperial Guards must guard Luoyang and cannot be moved lightly."

"Therefore, I request Your Majesty's permission to allow benevolent and righteous men everywhere to recruit local volunteers themselves to participate in pacifying the rebellion."

"I believe that with this decree, the benevolent and righteous men of the world will surely respond one after another."

"By then, the million Huang Jin bandits will surely be destroyed with a flip of the hand."

Although this matter was suggested by Yuan Feng and the others, hoping he would say it at the court meeting.

But Yuan Feng and the others told him that he, He Jin, was the Grand General and possessed the power to command the armies of the world.

Wouldn't the local volunteers recruited by these righteous men eventually be under his command?

In this way, the military power in his hands could be greatly expanded, spreading throughout the entire Great Han.

By then, he would be a Grand General in name and reality, with power shaking the court.

Therefore, He Jin did not even think before agreeing to the suggestion and instigation of the Yuan clan.

If a fool like He Jin could see this, the Son of Heaven, Liu Hong, was not stupid; how could he not see it?

He even saw that this suggestion was definitely not He Jin's idea.

Because this fool did not have that level of cunning or brainpower.

Moreover, there was nothing simple behind this suggestion.

Whoever proposed this suggestion clearly wanted to take the opportunity to legitimately expand the military power and influence of the clans in the localities.

If this decree were issued, it would greatly weaken the imperial power's control over the localities.
