Chapter 13: Another version update

"Looked." Qin Chuan nodded.

After the dream world entrance closed, the Special Affairs Group promptly organized some updated materials, uploaded them to the dream world forum; there were two main points.

First, to answer yesterday's unresolved issue of delayed entry into the dream world.

Through experiments, the Special Affairs Group has confirmed that players who delay entering the dream world lose consciousness during the corresponding time period; if an enemy is present in dream time then, death is certain.

Therefore, for dream world players, the safest method is to fall asleep before midnight.

Second, it is a document introducing spirit beast attributes.

After two days of exploration, the Special Affairs Group has discovered twelve attributes: metal, wood, water, fire, earth, thunder, wind, ice, light, dark, superpower, and fighting; they do not rule out the possibility of undiscovered rare attributes.

The document introduces these attributes and notes that there may be fixed mutual restraint relationships between different attributes; the specific restraint relationships are still under study, please stay tuned.

"What attribute is your spirit beast?" Xiao Pang asked, full of curiosity.

Qin Chuan glanced at Xiao Pang, then said, "Water system."

"Water system." Xiao Pang's face showed a look of longing; "I read the spirit beast attribute introduction, water system spirit beasts help players in early-game wilderness survival only second to wood system."

"Perhaps." Qin Chuan gave a noncommittal reply.

For other water system spirit beasts, perhaps it is like that.

But the Water Leaf Dog's trait is plant identification; its help is not less than that of wood system.

The two were speaking when suddenly their expressions froze in unison.

Familiar text was projected onto the retina again.

【Blue Star 2.1 version update completed, strengthened the spacetime connection between the dream world and the real world, and the dream world's power will be projected into reality in a new form.】

【Added a contract spirit beast affection system; affection will affect the projection of power.】

【Next Blue Star update time: 10 days later.】

Another version update!

The classroom that had been noisy just now suddenly fell silent.

After a while, a slightly trembling voice sounded.

"Projected into reality… is that what I meant?"

Immediately after, the whole classroom erupted into an uproar.

The classmates who had gradually accepted the dream world once again showed fearful expressions.

Qin Chuan silently gazed at the update notice before him.

The power in the dream world likely refers to the contract spirit beast and the spirit beast's own supernatural power.

What will this new form be?

What is the affection system?

Questions arose one after another in Qin Chuan's mind; he knew that only by re-entering the dream world could these questions be answered.

But one thing is certain.

This world is going to fall into chaos.

The previous version, having little impact on reality, saw its panic quickly subside, but the upcoming 2.1 version is completely different.

Supernatural power entering Blue Star, which lacks supernatural power, will inevitably lead to unpredictable consequences.

Qin Chuan's hand slowly clenched.

He realized that the Time Stop will have an even more important meaning.

"Oh my god..." Xiao Pang beside him murmured, "True spiritual energy has revived."

"Qin Chuan, can we skip studying?" he said, shaking Qin Chuan's shoulder vigorously, his face gradually turning excited.

Qin Chuan could understand Xiao Pang's excitement; after all, their grades were at the bottom of the class, and under normal circumstances taking the college entrance exam, getting into a third-tier university was already the limit.

A dream world unrelated to reality would not improve their future in reality.

But a dream world that can interfere with reality might give them a new path.

A path distinct from changing fate through study.

"You should still contract a spirit beast first." Qin Chuan calmly poured a bucket of cold water on Xiao Pang.

"Don't worry." Xiao Pang's expression unchanged, "Tonight I'll enter the dream world and secure a contract spirit beast, just in time for the update."

After the initial panic, the other classmates also gradually calmed down.

Those who had already contracted a spirit beast were the most composed, while those who had not yet completed the contract each had solemn expressions.

If they do not contract a spirit beast, they will be completely left behind.

In a somewhat solemn atmosphere, the homeroom teacher pushed the door open and entered.

This morning's first period was his class.

Entering the classroom, standing on the podium, the homeroom teacher looked down at the students, fell silent for a moment, and set down his lecture notes.

"The update just now, you all saw it."

"If the dream world's power truly affects reality, this world will undergo tremendous change." He gave a self-deprecating smile, "In two months you will face the college entrance exam, but whether there will still be an exam two months after that is unknown."

"Over the past two days, everyone has been restless; in class they haven't listened attentively, instead focusing on dream world-related content. For this, I and the other subject teachers understand."

The homeroom teacher's voice paused, "Going forward, this situation will surely intensify, and many students may even give up the college entrance exam and stop studying."

Hearing this, Xiao Pang couldn't help but shrink his head.

How does it feel like it's talking about him?

"Regarding this, I want to say..." The homeroom teacher fell silent for a moment, his voice turning solemn, "The college entrance exam is merely a milestone in life, but knowledge and the process of acquiring it are the most precious treasures harvested while passing through this milestone."

"Even if the world changes however it may, knowledge remains important and irreplaceable."

The homeroom teacher's voice carried a rare resonance, echoing in the classroom, "I don't know what the world will become next, but now and in the future, I and the other subject teachers will continue to stand on the podium and impart knowledge to you without reservation."

"Whether to listen or not, to study or not, the choice is yours."

I have only one request: don't interfere with the other students listening to class.

After he finished speaking, the homeroom teacher, amidst the students' thoughtful looks, turned and began writing the lesson's content.

A few students chose to leave the classroom, while many still kept their heads down doing things unrelated to the lesson, but compared to the previous two days, the number of students attentively listening to class had clearly increased.

——

Ding-ling-ling—

Accompanied by the clear sound of the school dismissal bell, the last afternoon class ended.

Qin Chuan stretched lazily and flipped open the notebook in front of him.

Perhaps it was the homeroom teacher's words that moved him; this was the first time he had listened so attentively from start to finish for an entire day's lessons.

Feeling… not bad.

"Going home, I've already started looking forward to tonight." Xiao Pang let out a hehe laugh.

He spent the day memorizing many common English phrases; he should be able to chat a few more sentences with foreign girls.

He casually opened the dream forum and took a glance; Xiao Pang suddenly let out a low exclamation.

"Qin Chuan, quickly look at the forum!"
