Chapter 527: Physical Education
Wu Xian’s lips curled slightly.
The statue’s clue has finally appeared!
Too bad the statue wasn’t given directly—he still had to find it himself.
Combining the current information, each time a Student Union member is killed, a new statue appears within the Immigration Training Center, and the probability of the killer’s kin finding that statue increases.
There are ten statues total within the Immigration Training Center.
That means the other kin have all made the same choice as Wu Xian—killed or tricked Student Union members—hence the five additional statues appearing in the center.
Wu Xian had always found it strange.
Why would the Student Union offer a reward for anyone who could see the statues? His theory was that they weren’t the first kin to arrive in this blessed land; previous kin had failed to resolve the land’s problems but left behind legends, so Student Union members remained vigilant toward anyone who could see the statues.
The information now revealed on the ordination tablet corroborated Wu Xian’s theory.
Wu Xian closed the ordination tablet.
His second class today was physical education.
He checked the time and strolled down the stairs slowly, glancing left and right—but saw no trace of any statue. It seemed these statues weren’t hidden in obvious places; finding them required a meticulous search of the training center, yet that would bring dangers he hadn’t encountered before.
The number of people attending PE was even higher than yesterday’s.
Although three or four Student Union members were killed this morning, more were lost during yesterday’s morning classes, and the Student Union had replaced all those losses today.
All the new kin who attended yesterday’s PE class were still here.
They were Wu Xian, Su Mi, Huo Shutong, female college student Wu Banqing, male college students Han Hao and Xia Wentao, along with resort island staff Ji Yaning and Liu Shuli.
Everyone had been extremely cautious in the first class, committing no mistakes, so the number of red bars on their badges remained unchanged from yesterday.
Before class officially began, Wu Xian spoke first.
“Let’s exchange intelligence first. I just had language class—the procedure was nearly identical to yesterday. Student Union members tried to disrupt us by pulling hair, shooting slingshots, making grotesque faces, extending their hands…”
But Xia Wentao, who also had language class, encountered different Student Union members, and their methods of disrupting students varied.
Wu Banqing had etiquette class yesterday.
“Etiquette class was harder than yesterday, but the teacher showed favoritism toward certain individuals. Student Union members would suddenly shove someone, causing them to touch a wind chime and burst out laughing.”
Huo Shutong added: “I also encountered one who could magically induce itching in others. That guy was dangerous—I just didn’t get a chance to kill him.”
After exchanging intelligence from the first class,
Wu Xian proposed: “The official rules for PE are simple: complete all movements, and don’t lie down or sit on the ground to rest. Restrictions on Student Union members are relatively low—they’ll definitely try to attack us, so…”
Su Mi flexed his wrists: “So we should kill them before they move.”
From Huo Shutong and Su Mi’s expressions, they’d clearly seen the new information revealed on the ordination tablet.
As they chatted,
PE class officially began.
PE teacher Guo Xiaodong appeared suddenly at the front of the field—his clothing, wounds, and even the position of blood on his face were identical to yesterday’s.
“I introduced myself yesterday, so no need to repeat it. As before, we’ll start with warm-ups, then proceed to the three events.”
The warm-up routine was identical to yesterday’s. When Wu Xian bent down, he again felt someone riding on his neck.
But unlike yesterday, today the weight on his shoulders had increased.
Yesterday, it was barely the weight of a newborn—no real burden. Today, the child had aged a few years; before they even started running, Wu Xian already felt his shoulders aching.
Guo Xiaodong led them to the track and blew his whistle. Over a hundred people sprinted forward. Having learned from yesterday’s lesson, most locals knew running too fast brought no advantage, so today no one rushed—crowds remained dense.
Dense crowds provided cover.
Inside the track, a long-faced Student Union member wore a sinister grin.
He suddenly stopped, extended his leg, and tripped the student behind him. That student fell, and several others behind him, unable to dodge in time, tumbled down one after another.
The long-faced man crossed his arms, admiring his handiwork, his face twisted into a cruel smile.
This was just a greeting—he had even more vile tricks planned. He’d eliminate several students during the run, fulfilling the Student Union president’s orders.
The long-faced man turned to continue running—and collided straight into someone.
The man’s body was as massive as a mountain, standing utterly still. The long-faced man was flung backward.
The man who had knocked the long-faced man flying was PE teacher Guo Xiaodong.
The long-faced man scrambled to his feet, his eyes turning pale, dark aura swirling around him: “Teacher Guo, I didn’t break any rules—why are you…”
He didn’t finish speaking.
Guo Xiaodong’s massive hand had already seized his face and slammed his entire body hard into the ground, cracking a crater in the concrete track.
After slamming him several times, Guo Xiaodong casually tossed him aside. The long-faced man’s ruined body landed in the center of the field.
Half his face was gone. He lay on the track, struggling to rise.
Then he realized in horror that where his body touched the ground, crimson, threadlike filaments had sprouted—quietly burrowing into him, pinning him to the track, slowly dragging him downward.
The long-faced man used every trick he had—his legs grotesquely elongated and blackened—but no matter how he struggled, he couldn’t stop being dragged inch by inch into the ground.
“Ahh…”
The field echoed with the long-faced man’s piercing screams.
After this, Guo Xiaodong clapped his hands and continued watching the runners with his terrifying face.
He said nothing.
But his actions made his stance clear.
Those who had been itching to cause trouble now abandoned all thoughts of interference.
Among them was Wu Xian.
Wu Xian didn’t know whether Guo Xiaodong’s harshness targeted only Student Union members or everyone—he could only suppress his own intentions.
So the run proceeded smoothly.
Today, Su Mi still moved effortlessly—even if a thirty-year-old fat man sat on his shoulders, he wouldn’t break a sweat.
But Wu Xian and Huo Shutong were already struggling.
Their physiques remained within normal human limits; carrying a child while running was excruciating—this was the plight of most locals.
Surprisingly, Wu Banqing didn’t fall behind.
Though her face was twisted, her hand pressed to her side, looking ready to faint at any moment, simply not falling behind was already a massive improvement over yesterday.
Wu Xian whispered: “Has the weight on your shoulders increased?”
Wu Banqing gasped: “It seems to have… but I don’t know why—I feel stronger today than yesterday.”
Wu Xian’s eyes brightened.
Perhaps the running event in PE has benefits I haven’t uncovered yet! (End of chapter)
