Chapter 311: Who Initiated the Attack?_1
"All right, that’s all I wanted to talk to you about. I’m just worried that you might face the Zhou Family’s crazy retaliation," Old Mr. Xia said, looking concernedly at Yin Tian.
"It’s fine," Yin Tian waved his hand dismissively at Old Mr. Xia, "The Zhou Family doesn’t have the time to bother with me right now."
"Why?"
"With such chaos within the Zhou Family, they must be too preoccupied to care about anything else. In the Imperial Capital, it’s impossible for the Zhou Family to be the only mysterious family around. There are definitely rivals. If a rival family sees that the Zhou Family is weakened, would they let go of such a good opportunity?"
"You do have a point."
"So, the most important thing for the Zhou Family right now is to stabilize the situation, not to pick pointless fights with me."
Yin Tian’s face bore a relaxed expression, "I’m the least worried one at the moment."
"Since you’ve made up your mind, I won’t say more," Old Mr. Xia said, chuckling softly, "You haven’t had breakfast yet, have you? Come, let’s eat together."
After some thought, Yin Tian gladly accepted Old Mr. Xia’s invitation.
After breakfast, Yin Tian planned to return to the hotel.
He had been away for quite some time and needed to check on Su Qinwei and the two other girls.
Seeing Yin Tian preparing to leave, Old Mr. Xia did not stop him, merely seeing Yin Tian off to the Xia Family’s entrance and watching him drive away.
Having returned to the hotel, Yin Tian took the elevator to the floor where his room was located.
Upon seeing the door of his room wide open, his brows immediately furrowed.
He quickened his pace and rushed over, only to find the room completely empty!
Yin Tian’s expression changed dramatically!
He had spent less than an hour away from the hotel to visit the Xia Family and then returning.
But...
Where were Su Qinwei and the others?
Yin Tian stepped into the room and noticed signs of struggle; there were large wet stains in the bathroom area.
The water appeared to be splashed about as if from a struggle.
It must have been when Su Qinwei and the others were freshening up that someone barged in and took them—Su Qinwei, Chen Yu, and Ye Qinghuang!
But...
Who could have done this?
Taking a deep breath, Yin Tian stepped out of the room and headed directly for the surveillance room.
Inside the surveillance room, a security guard was idly eating sunflower seeds and playing with his phone. Hearing the door, he started to turn his head only to see a young man with an unsavory expression approaching.
"What are you doing here? You can’t just come in here, you need to—"
The guard was mid-sentence when he caught the young man’s icy glance.
Just one look made him shiver, feeling a sudden unease all over his body.
"I need you to pull up the surveillance footage from one hour ago, on the twenty-sixth floor," Yin Tian said calmly as he took a seat beside the guard.
The guard glanced at Yin Tian fearfully, "We have rules here, outsiders..."
He was speaking, but Yin Tian gave him another icy look.
The guard was truly frightened now.
Swallowing hard, unsure why he was so afraid of the man beside him, he still proceeded to pull up the surveillance footage from an hour earlier on the twenty-sixth floor for Yin Tian.
Yin Tian narrowed his eyes at the monitor.
The surveillance showed Yin Tian leaving the room, having a brief conversation with Wei Er, then took a phone call, afterward he returned to the room, and soon left again.
Yin Tian nodded slowly.
He remembered all that.
What he wanted to know was what had happened after he left.
As the surveillance footage time elapsed, soon a group of more than a dozen people appeared on the monitor.
Yin Tian’s eyes narrowed instantly.
He recognized that these were the people who had taken Su Qinwei and the other girls!
Those people stood in front of Yin Tian’s room, not bothering to knock but instead silently used a key card to open the door.
They filed into the room and, shortly after, dragged all three girls out of the room.
The girls did not struggle; rather, they were carried on shoulders by three people, which suggested they had likely been drugged and taken away.
"Why did they have a key card to my room?" Yin Tian asked coldly, looking at the guard.
The guard now had a thin sheen of sweat on his forehead, "The... backup key cards... they’re only at the front desk..."
The front desk...
Yin Tian nodded slowly.
Normally, the front desk certainly would not hand over a room key to a stranger.
But if that stranger was a person of authority, that would make sense.
With this thought, Yin Tian immediately turned and left the surveillance room, then took the elevator down to the lobby.
Slapping his hands on the counter, Yin Tian looked expressionlessly at the receptionist.
Recognizing Yin Tian, the receptionist, though unsure what he was there for, still greeted him with a smile, "Mr. Yin, how may I assist you?"
"Who took the key card to my room?" Yin Tian asked bluntly.
Upon hearing this, a fleeting flicker of panic passed over the receptionist’s face.
