Chapter 161: Guan Jin Dan Zhi
For the following month, Lu Yang remained in the Holy Sect.
As time passed, he simply stayed overnight at Senior Butian Peak, either discussing the Dao with Lady Ruoxiang or listening to Chen Shuqian play the flute; life was filled with such sentiment.
Of course, these were merely embellishments.
Lu Yang's body was like steel, his Dao heart like iron; a little mother-daughter affection could not affect his will. Most of the time, he was still studying the Daoist text in his hands.
"Guan Jin Dan Zhi. What a fine Guan Jin Dan Zhi!"
The True Person who wrote this Daoist text, titled 【Ang Xiao Bi Ri True Person】, had cultivated the Jin Dan and verified the 【Da Lin Mu】, yet was the most shameful True Person in the history of the Holy Sect.
Because He was a good person.
This was no empty words; at least during His years in office, He never committed any vicious acts, and even had private friendships with the Sword Pavilion, the Dao Court, and the Pure Land, with connections spanning the world.
"Although it is incredible, it is not incomprehensible. After all, which True Person would idly write something like 'Guan Jin Dan Zhi' that teaches people to seek gold? Are they afraid that no one will compete for their fruit position after reincarnation? To do such a thing, it is no surprise that He was a good person."
At least, if it were Lu Yang, He would absolutely not do so.
Hong Yun Dao Ren was a cautionary tale; a dignified True Person, yet after reincarnation was utterly suppressed by a junior like Master Chongguang, which was simply extremely frustrating.
Shaking his head, Lu Yang cast aside distracting thoughts and refocused his mind.
After a month, the help this 'Guan Jin Dan Zhi' provided him was immense; it almost pointed out the specific method for Foundation Establishment, ascending the position, and seeking the Jin Dan.
"A ten-thousand-foot high building starts from the ground."
"To ascend the position and seek the Jin Dan, the foundation must be firmly laid at the early stage of Foundation Establishment; otherwise, once an error occurs, there will be no chance to regret it by the mid-stage of Foundation Establishment."
'Guan Jin Dan Zhi', from the perspective of a True Person, described his views on the Heavenly and Earthly Fruit Positions, and the Ten Tian Gang and Twelve Di Sha corresponding to those positions, even marking their respective attributes, dividing them into the Five Elements, making their respective imagery clearer and more distinct.
"What I seek in this life is 【Cheng Tou Tu】."
What is 【Cheng Tou Tu】?
"The Tian Gang position takes 【Zhu Yong】 and 【Tu Wei】; the Di Sha position takes 【She Ti Ge】 and 【Dan E】. When the four medicines return to one, the Great Dao is formed, only then can one seek 【Cheng Tou Tu】."
This is something everyone knows, yet it is extremely obscure and difficult to understand.
But in 'Guan Jin Dan Zhi', the description of this sentence is even simpler and clearer:
"In the Tian Gang position, 【Zhu Yong】 belongs to Yang Earth, 【Tu Wei】 belongs to Yin Earth. In the Di Sha position, 【She Ti Ge】 belongs to Yang Wood, 【Dan E】 belongs to Yin Wood."
"When Yin and Yang, Wood and Earth intersect, it becomes 【Cheng Tou Tu】."
Lu Yang held the Daoist text, having already formed an idea for the first Tian Gang and Di Sha he needed: "I need a Tian Gang Qi that embodies 【Zhu Yong】."
【Zhu Yong】 belongs to Earth, sits in the Yang position, and is also named 'Wu'.
This Tian Gang is said to be mist in the sky and mountains on the ground; before the Hong Meng was judged, it embraced the One and guarded the Center; after Heaven and Earth separated, it carried all things heavily, being the orthodoxy of the Earth Dao.
It sounds simple, but in reality, there is another mystery.
Because the Ten Tian Gang and Twelve Di Sha have always been indistinguishable; even the same Wu Earth Qi will undergo different changes when intersecting with the Twelve Di Sha.
"For me, the Wu Earth Qi I choose must best intersect with 【She Ti Ge】 or 【Dan E】, so that it does not deviate from the imagery of 【Cheng Tou Tu】."
"However, there are also unknown taboos within this."
"When Wu Earth Qi intersects 【She Ti Ge】, the innate supernatural ability born from it is named 【Bao Shou Shan】."
"'Guan Jin Dan Zhi' calls it the utmost Yang Wood and Earth, possessing the ability to balance one Qi and stabilize and suppress the Guan Qiankun."
"And when Wu Earth Qi intersects 【Dan E】, 'Guan Jin Dan Zhi' calls it seeking one's own death; Yin Wood overcomes Yang Earth; once refined, one can only wait for sudden death."
In other words, not all Tian Gang and Di Sha can be refined; refining some is simply looking for death.
"... Damn it, they are all traps!"
Lu Yang closed the Dan book, unable to help but curse; this was only because a True Person wrote an article to guide, providing a set of methods and theories; otherwise, who would think so much?
If it were a scattered cultivator, finding a Tian Gang or Di Sha would be a stroke of heavenly luck; they would surely grab it and refine it instantly.
Who would care if there were taboos?
"No wonder one can only be called a Great True Person after the late stage of Foundation Establishment; I suppose those who can cultivate to the late stage of Foundation Establishment either stumbled upon heavenly luck or possess superior Dao lineages."
The former relies on mechanisms; the latter has numerical values.
"... Never mind."
Empty speculation is not as good as practical action; Lu Yang sighed, pushed aside Lady Ruoxiang beside him, changed his clothes, and walked out of the secluded meditation room.
Thirty days passed; everything was ready.
Now that Fu Long Arhat was executed and the Master of Senior Butian Peak died suddenly, he could rest easy and follow the guidance of fortune to seek his opportunity.
However, just then, Lu Yang suddenly raised an eyebrow.
Immediately after, he looked up at the sky, smiled slightly: "Which Daoist friend? Visiting late at night; rather than acting sneakily, it is better to reveal yourself and meet."
As his words fell, the evening breeze blew.
Seeing Lu Yang's calm expression and his gaze fixed directly on him, the visitor then confirmed that Lu Yang had truly discovered him, and was not just bluffing with words.
"Hahaha, no wonder it is Duanmu Yuan Tu!"
The next second, laughter came, and at the same time, a formation fell from the empty air, directly covering Lu Yang and the visitor within the array, isolating them from external interference.
The entire set of operations was executed with the smoothness of flowing clouds and water.
Seeing this, Lu Yang immediately narrowed his eyes; without a second word, he isolated information transmission; obviously, he was an old hand, very likely not doing this for the first time.
Then, a figure floated out.
The visitor wore a black Daoist robe; his appearance was quite handsome, his demeanor calm, and a kind smile on his face: "I am Senior Wu Cang, greeting Daoist friend Duanmu Yuan Tu."
"So it is Daoist friend Senior Wu Cang."
Lu Yang bowed his hands, but in his heart, the other's information flashed through rapidly.
This person was originally a scattered cultivator at the Foundation Establishment stage who brought his skills to join a master; after reincarnation, he entered the Holy Sect, broke through to the mid-stage, and thus washed black to become a Holy Sect True Person.
"I wonder what Daoist friend Senior Wu Cang seeks me for?"
As Lu Yang's words fell, Senior Wu Cang showed a smile on his face: "To be honest, I heard that Daoist friend obtained a True Person's handwritten text from Sheng Huo Ya?"
"... Indeed, this is the case."
Lu Yang understood the other's intent and immediately smiled, saying, "Fellow Daoist, do you wish to borrow the handwritten manuscript for a look? That is no problem. What would you like to use in exchange?"
"That is the problem."
Senior Wu Cang's smile did not change. "I am currently short on funds and truly cannot offer a good reward, but I wish to borrow the manuscript. Would Fellow Daoist be willing to extend credit?"
Upon hearing this, Lu Yang's smile quickly faded.
Both of us are True Persons of the Holy Sect; what are you pretending for? Extend credit? You're just a deadbeat!
Thinking this, Lu Yang's gaze became even more indifferent, and a hint of coldness emerged in his voice. "It seems Fellow Daoist does not intend to trade with me properly?"
Upon hearing this, Senior Wu Cang immediately let out a sneering laugh.
Of course he knew Duanmu Yuan Tu was not easy to deal with, but that was limited to calculations of karma. Now that he had suddenly come to the door, he gave Lu Yang no time to calculate.
What can you do to me?
"If you must blame someone, blame your own insatiable greed. You entered the Heaven-Filling Peak at the early stage of Foundation Establishment and still dare to borrow the True Lord's handwritten manuscript. Today, I will teach you a lesson."
Having spoken, Senior Wu Cang immediately stepped forward.
"He who knows the time is a hero. Hand over the manuscript, and I will leave immediately."
In an instant, the pressure of the mid-stage Foundation Establishment aura, heavy as Mount Taishan, crashed down upon Lu Yang. "Or do you wish to suffer a bit before handing over the manuscript?"
Senior Wu Cang had originally thought Lu Yang would choose to compromise.
However, unexpectedly, after he revealed his aura, Lu Yang smiled. "If my guess is correct, Fellow Daoist has only refined one innate divine ability."
Having spoken, he carefully examined Senior Wu Cang.
Such a hot, drooling gaze made Senior Wu Cang instinctively frown. "What do you mean?"
"It means Fellow Daoist's cultivation is excellent."
Lu Yang lowered his hand, holding the 【Abi Sword】.
"How precious is the True Lord's handwritten manuscript? Since Fellow Daoist wants it, then use this entire cultivation to exchange for it!"
