Chapter 3: Searching for Cang Luo
Over two thousand years ago, the greats of the Yuanwu Continent discovered that the human body contained an extremely tiny living entity.
This entity was present everywhere within the human body, countless in number, too small to be seen by the naked eye.
It existed within warriors, ordinary people, even beasts and plants.
The greats who discovered it called it “Jingyuan”; if Cang Luo were to learn even a little later, he would realize that “Jingyuan” was merely “cells.”
Yuan force causes cells to divide and regenerate, providing the human body with immense energy—this is the source of a warrior’s power.
The people of the Yuanwu Continent have been nourished by yuan force for over two thousand years; their bodies have developed “drug resistance,” even “immunity,” so their cells now respond indifferently to yuan force.
But Cang Luo is from Earth; Earth humans have not developed resistance to yuan force, so their cells react wildly upon first contact, dividing and regenerating at a rate ten times faster than that of ordinary warriors on the Yuanwu Continent.
Xuan Qiankun nodded in agreement with his junior Xiong Dingtian’s words, then fell into thought.
If I could rule Earth, could I not cultivate a batch of warriors in a short time?
The more Xuan Qiankun thought, the more excited he became; he glanced at Cang Luo, unconscious on the ground, and said to Xuan Hong: “Observe him again after he wakes. Let him cultivate in the outer sect—see how far an Earthling can advance.”
“Yes.” Xuan Hong received the order, levitated Cang Luo through the air, and left the council chamber.
Earth, West Coast of North America.
A mysterious base known as Area 51, famed worldwide.
Rumors claimed it was a nuclear weapons research facility; others said it held extraterrestrials...
In truth, Area 51 was the headquarters of a special department established by a certain nation during World War II.
Its duty was to study all supernatural phenomena and hyper-advanced technologies—such as unidentified flying objects, extraterrestrial life, genetic engineering, enhanced humans, psychic powers, alternate dimensions, other worlds, and multiverses.
It was renamed “Eden” only after the 1969 moon landing, and is currently led by Director John Smith.
At this moment, Director Smith was repeatedly watching a video captured by Satellite 51.
On the video, a Chinese youth around twenty years old was playing with his phone on a balcony—the youth was Cang Luo, summoned to the Yuanwu Continent, appearing utterly relaxed.
But after just over ten seconds, a white orb suddenly appeared before Cang Luo, completely enveloping him.
The next instant, the white orb vanished with him, disappearing entirely from Earth.
Eden called this white orb the “Spherical Space.”
Spherical Spaces appear randomly on Earth, with diameters ranging from thirty centimeters to one hundred fifty centimeters; they appear and vanish instantly, severing and taking away everything within their bounds.
The severed portions vanish completely from Earth; nations have conducted global Ditanshi searches based on residual debris, yet found not a single trace.
Some believe the reason nothing is found on Earth is because the Spherical Space transports its contents to another world.
Thus, Spherical Spaces have been classified as supernatural phenomena by all nations, each pouring vast funds into research to locate the entrance to the other world.
Today’s Spherical Space was the only one in five years to have transported a human away—and nations also discovered that the phone that vanished with Cang Luo could still connect to Earth’s internet.
Therefore, Cang Luo and this phone became the sole breakthrough to the other world; nations were frantically sending messages and making calls to the phone.
All nations sought first-hand data from the other world, but Cang Luo’s phone had remained offline since answering one call.
Director Smith turned off the video and asked his subordinate: “Has the target replied yet?”
“No.”
He asked again: “Has Satellite 51 been repaired?”
Satellite 51 was Eden’s most advanced strategic satellite, capable of real-time monitoring of any target exposed outside buildings, and it possessed one extremely powerful function.
The space-based laser weapon system!
Though unable to strike targets on Earth, the space-based laser weapon system could destroy enemy satellites, physically disrupting enemy communication systems during wartime.
The subordinate hesitated: “No... it seems to have vanished?!”
“Vanished? Destroyed?” Smith froze, then roared: “Could Feng Lin Huo Shan be behind this?!”
In Smith’s mind, only a handful of secret organizations on Earth—like China’s Feng Lin Huo Shan—had the capability to destroy Eden’s satellite.
Feng Lin Huo Shan was the most likely; after all, this Spherical Space appeared within China’s borders, and it transported away a Chinese youth.
After a long silence, Smith ordered: “Send people to contact the target’s parents...”
Earth, China, Feng Lin Huo Shan Headquarters.
“Director, the missing Chinese citizen is Cang Luo, male, 22, parents are laborers, with a younger sister in high school.
After graduating from a third-rate university last year, Cang Luo took a job at a conglomerate, only to encounter his recently broken-up ex-girlfriend and become her junior chairman’s secretary.
Then some events occurred, devastating him, and he resigned, returning home unemployed.”
Feng Lin Huo Shan’s leader, Li Weiguo, nodded: “Understood. Have we contacted him?”
“No. His phone briefly came online a moment ago, but when we called, he hung up immediately.
Based on prior calls, we judge he is currently in an environment beyond his control, making it inconvenient to answer.”
Li Weiguo thought briefly, then commanded: “We must contact Cang Luo before any other faction does, and obtain first-hand data from the other world.
Also, closely monitor Eden, Izumo Society, and others—they may use Cang Luo’s family to force his cooperation. Immediately send personnel to escort his family to the capital for protection.”
“Yes!”
China, Shanghai.
A building whose top floor had been converted into a private gym.
At this moment, a handsome young man in a taekwondo uniform was punching a heavy bag, sweat soaking his clothes, revealing his perfectly proportioned frame and solid muscles.
Thud... thud... thud...
Punch after punch struck the bag until, unable to endure, it burst open; the young man ended his training and rested in place.
At that moment, a door behind him opened, and a middle-aged man in a butler’s uniform stepped out.
He quietly closed the door, then handed a tablet computer to the resting young man, respectfully saying: “Young Master, news has arrived.”
“Oh?” The young man’s voice was firm yet gentle; he added: “Do they know yet?”
“Not yet—but it will be within the next day or two.” The butler replied respectfully; he knew “they” referred to several other elite Chinese youths from wealthy families.
“Hmm.”
The young man, still wearing boxing gloves, picked up the tablet; it displayed Cang Luo’s profile and the full account of today’s “Spherical Space” incident.
After a long silence, the young man set down the tablet, stood, and flung his arms—both boxing gloves flew off his hands; he burst into loud, ecstatic laughter.
The butler gazed at the young man, filled with immense pride; he could no longer recall how many years it had been since he’d seen his Young Master laugh so joyfully.
The reason? This world had restricted his development, leaving his talents and ambitions with nowhere to be expressed.
His Young Master’s name was Liu Tianxing, born into a prestigious family with limitless resources.
At fourteen, he entered Huada, China’s top university, and completed all required courses in two years before leaving.
He scorned studying abroad, for Liu Tianxing had discovered something far more important to pursue.
Human lifespan is finite!
Thus, Liu Tianxing visited every location in China related to martial arts and cultivation, seeking a way to transcend human biological limits.
Wudang, Shaolin, Miaojiang... all in search of immortality.
Yet after years, aside from becoming stronger, faster, and mastering combat skills, he gained nothing.
Liu Tianxing also used his family’s resources to establish research institutes.
He studied how to use biotechnology to break human limits—organ regeneration, head transplants, memory transfer—yet achieved no significant results.
Eventually, he had to accept a truth.
He was merely a mortal; in a hundred years, he would die.
Until five years ago, Liu Tianxing accidentally learned of the Spherical Space phenomenon, speculated the existence of another world—and his hope reignited...
On an island nation in eastern Asia, Izumo Society Headquarters.
“Hai! Your Majesty, I know what to do.”
After ending the call, Izumo Society’s leader, Yuasa Yuichiro, clapped his hands and called: “Come!”
Instantly, a masked man in black martial attire appeared before Yuasa, kneeling on one knee.
This masked man’s attire had a specific name: ninja, typically found only in films and anime.
Yet the ninja standing here was an elite warrior of Yuasa Yuichiro’s special division: Izumo Society.
Ranked alongside Eden, Feng Lin Huo Shan, the Holy Cross Army, the Tsar’s Judgment Court, the Royal Knights, and Paradise Island—all these organizations’ leaders were now monitoring Cang Luo’s transmigration.
Yuasa Yuichiro looked at the ninja and ordered: “Bring Cang Luo’s family here by the end of today—no matter what methods you use.”
“Hai!”
