Chapter 35: World Meeting
Cang Luo ended the video call not to reject Chen Da, nor out of reluctant compromise.
He wanted to create a WeChat group, with members all drawn from his WeChat contacts and friend request list—over twenty in total.
Any friend request bearing a nickname or remark indicating a national or global organization, Cang Luo approved outright, then added them and Zhu Ge Qing’s WeChat ID to a new group he created.
The group name: “World Meeting”!
Members of the World Meeting group included: the Eden Park administrator from North America, whose WeChat avatar resembled a logo from Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D.
The Holy Crusade administrator from Central Europe, whose avatar was a towering man looking down upon all life.
The Royal Knights Order administrator from Western Europe, whose avatar showed a knight charging forward with spear raised.
The Tsar’s Judgment Court administrator from Russia, whose avatar was a double-headed eagle—subtle yet domineering!
Also the Fenglin Huoshan administrator from Huaxia—Li Weiguo—whose avatar was a fluttering Five-Star Red Flag.
These were the five most powerful superpowers on Earth.
Also present: the administrator of Japan’s Izumo Society, whose avatar was a sanitary pad… no, Cang Luo had misread—it was the national flag!
Plus representatives from the Southeast Asian Alliance, the South American Alliance, the African Union, and other alliances and smaller nations, along with some names Cang Luo had never heard of.
The Paradise Island administrator… what country’s organization is that? Cang Luo didn’t know, and didn’t bother Googling it.
Immediately after the World Meeting group was created, someone @ed Cang Luo, and messages flooded in—within seconds, the group was overrun with text and voice messages from every nation.
But Cang Luo didn’t reply. Instead, he launched a group video call, and all the world leaders accepted the invitation, now greeting each other as “old friends.”
Their speech lacked the formalities of diplomatic exchanges—it was casual.
Still, several members’ video feeds showed no people at all; where figures appeared, they wore masks, clearly hiding their identities—Cang Luo didn’t care.
Eden Park administrator: “Whoa! Cang, finally got in touch with you.”
“Huh? Cang, what kind of giant tree is behind you? So tall—do all plants from the other world grow like this?”
Izumo Society administrator: “Cang-kun, it’s my first time meeting you—I’m Yanagida Yuichiro… and John of Eden Park, long time no see…”
Royal Knights Order administrator: “Interesting. All the top powers on Earth are gathered in this group. I wonder what Cang Luo intends.”
“You know, Li of Fenglin Huoshan… and the Devil Commander… Chen.”
“Bang!”
Chen Da, seeing these familiar rivals, slammed a fist onto his desk, covered the mic, and roared at Li Weiguo: “What the hell is Cang Luo trying to do? Betray his country?”
“Hmph! Look what you’ve done.”
Li Weiguo shoved Chen Da aside, opened Cang Luo’s WeChat, and sent a private message: “Cang Luo, we can negotiate. Don’t do anything foolish against the will of the people and the motherland.”
“I swear on my honor—your family will suffer no harm…”
Cang Luo read it and sneered repeatedly.
Pfft! In the face of massive profits, no promise is trustworthy—only yourself is reliable.
Ignoring Li Weiguo’s message, Cang Luo forwarded the three cultivation texts he’d earlier sent to Fenglin Huoshan into the World Meeting group—immediately sparking chaos.
Especially Li Weiguo and Chen Da, who condemned Cang Luo as a traitor while demanding he retract the messages.
Worse, Chen Da ordered his subordinates to notify Tencent Group, demanding the group be disbanded and their WeChat IDs banned.
Too bad—the data had already been saved locally by every faction the moment Cang Luo sent it; the leak was irreversible.
All factions receiving the data immediately asked Cang Luo about its authenticity; some even asked directly how to cultivate, clearly ecstatic.
Cang Luo pressed his hand down toward the camera, signaling silence—and the world leaders obeyed.
Except for Li Weiguo and Chen Da of Fenglin Huoshan, everyone fell quiet, waiting to see why Cang Luo had gathered them in this chat group.
Cang Luo cleared his throat and smiled: “Respected leaders, I know you’ve already dug up my eight generations of ancestors—but I’ll still introduce myself.”
Cang Luo’s speech was dull—no applause, no cheers—but none of the world leaders showed any annoyance or impatience.
Because they dared not—who holds the initiative? They had to endure this nonsense.
Cang Luo felt awkward, but pressed on: “I won’t say my name. My current identity is an outer disciple of the Xuantian Sect on the Yuanwu Continent, at the Warrior Fourth Reckoning.”
You heard right: Yuanwu Continent is the name of this other world—a world that has developed a cultivation civilization, which in your Western terms is a magic civilization…”
Immediately, a foreign leader spoke fluent Chinese with excitement: “You mean Earth humans can cultivate?”
“What does Warrior Fourth Reckoning mean? Can you describe a cultivator’s abilities in detail?”
“Yes, yes, please describe in detail—preferably using Earth’s firearms as reference.”
“Is there any way for us to reach the Yuanwu Continent?”
“Xuantian Sect? Is that a martial power from the other world?”
“By the way, Cang—how is your phone connected to Earth’s internet? And how do you solve charging? Does the Yuanwu Continent have not just a cultivation civilization, but a technological one too?”
The world leaders surged with excitement, bombarding Cang Luo with questions—these top-tier figures had seen every kind of spectacle.
Any one of them in the group could make decisions that would shake Earth to its core.
Yet here they were, before Cang Luo, like children visiting a zoo for the first time—curious about everything.
But there were exceptions: Li Weiguo and Chen Da of Fenglin Huoshan.
Li Weiguo now glared coldly at Cang Luo, silently warning him not to speak recklessly.
Chen Da, meanwhile, was whispering to a subordinate.
Cang Luo glanced at Chen Da and said coldly: “I warn certain people—don’t dare interfere with or block this video meeting, or I’ll use another app to hold it.”
Chen Da’s eyes turned icy, but he reluctantly rescinded his order to Tencent Group—he feared Cang Luo would throw everything away and fully defect to foreign powers.
Yanagida Yuichiro glanced at Li Weiguo and Chen Da, then smiled softly: “Cang-kun, my country welcomes you always. Ignore these threats.”
“We’ll provide you with every assistance—just give us the data from the other world.”
Not just Izumo Society—other nations’ representatives now realized Cang Luo must have had some unpleasantness with Huaxia, which prompted this group chat.
Otherwise, as a Huaxian, Cang Luo had no reason to leak Yuanwu Continent’s secrets to them.
“Cang Luo, don’t forget your family!” Chen Da sent a private voice message, his tone icy.
Cang Luo ignored Chen Da’s threat and continued: “Rest assured, I’ll answer your questions one by one—but first, I have something important to tell you.”
“Just now, someone demanded I hand over this phone—the only device connecting the two worlds—to the Xuantian Sect’s leadership, so they could negotiate the positioning of next year’s teleportation array.”
Here, Cang Luo paused deliberately, feigning inquiry: “Do you agree?”
At these words, the video call erupted like a nest of angry ants.
They all leaned forward, eyes wide: “Cang, you mean next year the Xuantian Sect will open a teleportation array from the Yuanwu Continent to Earth?”
Cang Luo nodded: “Correct—next year. But I don’t know the exact time or location. Nor do I have the power to negotiate with them.”
“But certain people are different—they want to contact the Xuantian Sect’s leadership directly, and convince them to position the array at their chosen location…”
Before Cang Luo finished, someone shouted in the group: “Cang, absolutely do not hand the phone to the Xuantian Sect!”
“Who’s so selfish? Planning secret talks with the Xuantian Sect? Trying to monopolize the other world’s resources? Develop a cultivation civilization alone?”
“How could anyone do something that blocks Earth’s progress? Tsk tsk tsk!”
“This is dictatorship! Do they want to use Yuanwu Continent’s power to rule Earth—or betray it?”
“Hmph! The discovery of the other world concerns all humanity’s fate—it’s not for any one person to claim!”
…
Though the world leaders didn’t name names, every eye in the video call fixed on Li Weiguo and Chen Da.
Now they finally understood Cang Luo’s purpose for this group video call—he’d been ordered to surrender the phone.
If it were them, they’d refuse too. Just use your ass to think—what would happen if you handed over the phone?
Seeing the world leaders siding with him against Li Weiguo and Chen Da, Cang Luo smiled contentedly: “Rest assured, leaders—I will never compromise with anyone or any power.”
“The collective interest of all humanity on Earth will be my guiding principle on the Yuanwu Continent…”
Even Cang Luo felt embarrassed saying such hypocrisy—but the world leaders showed no reaction; clearly, they didn’t care about his words—they were waiting for what came next.
“Ahem!”
Cang Luo cleared his throat again: “Enough talk. I invited you here because I have something extremely important to tell you.”
“Yes, we’re all ears, Cang-kun, please speak,” Yanagida Yuichiro nodded solemnly; the other leaders leaned in.
Cang Luo said gravely: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve realized the other world summoned me to learn about Earth—to prepare for invading Earth after next year’s teleportation array opens…”
Cang Luo went on to portray the Yuanwu Continent and the Xuantian Sect as invaders—alien beings with overwhelming martial power.
After speaking, Cang Luo expected the world leaders to panic, fearing invasion—but they merely looked unconcerned.
Eden Park administrator: “Invade Earth? What’s the combat strength of the other world’s warriors? Do they have large-scale martial… magical weapons?”
Tsar’s Judgment Court administrator: “Can they stand against conventional weapons? Nuclear weapons?”
Royal Knights Order administrator: “Heh, we have nukes—what’s to fear? I’d welcome them to come sooner! The other world’s resources might cure Earth’s incurable diseases.”
Izumo Society administrator: “True. Cang-kun, what’s the maximum lifespan of other world warriors?”
…
Facing the barrage of questions, Cang Luo was stunned again and again, then filled with resentment.
Damn it! You people at the top of Earth’s pyramid don’t care about the Yuanwu Continent’s planned invasion—you’re asking if the other world has things that extend human lifespan!
Is only your own interest important to you?
Don’t the lives of over six billion humans on Earth matter?
Are you, really, human leaders?!
Thinking of this, Cang Luo laughed bitterly, feeling utterly small and powerless…
I’m just an ordinary person…
