Chapter 190: Lin Qi

"The freshman grand competition is divided into team competitions and individual competitions. The team competition is also called the Calamity Beast Hunting Competition."

"The venue is the war base behind our academy. That is a war base established by our academy in cooperation with the military."

"Our academy doesn't have enough staff, so many places need the military's help. Both sides hit it off and started cooperation."

"The war base is named Cangqiong Base, and the ground is in Fortress 06 of Cangqiong Base. It has been transformed into a calamity beast park similar to a ruined town, where the team competition is held every year."

On the spacious asphalt road, countless trams and sightseeing cars gathered together, entering the war base in a mighty force.

The sun rose into the sky, and high temperature shrouded the earth.

Those were black steel giant beasts, a place full of killing and blood, and the thick oppressive atmosphere had already rushed toward them.

Jiang Tao's voice echoed in everyone's ears.

"We're here!!"

Someone suddenly shouted loudly, and large shadows began to appear in front of everyone.

Those were giant steel walls. In the middle of the walls was a huge square, and next to it was a parking lot.

Many people had already gathered in front of the metal iron gate, which was a black steel gate about 20 meters high and 200 meters wide, covered with blood and countless claw marks.

From Lin Qi's position, he could see a pair of super claw marks over five meters long. It was impossible to imagine what level of calamity beast had caused them.

On the metal gate, nine screens were projected, each marking different areas.

Everyone got off the car at the entrance of the square. A group of people took their weapons. Lin Qi stood at the very front, while Guanshan, Wang Qiufeng, and others stood on his left and right sides behind him.

A powerful aura was released from them, and the group walked toward the position of the Cangqiong Sixth Academy.

At this time, other people from the Cangqiong Sixth Academy, after seeing the people coming, opened up a passage one after another, letting Lin Qi walk over.

"Lin Lin Qi Ge!" They greeted one after another.

"Student Lin Qi!" Standing at the very front was Teacher Lu Wei, who had a plump figure. She was also wearing a slim-fitting blue combat suit today.

She greeted Lin Qi enthusiastically after seeing him.

Lin Qi looked around. At this time, the standing positions of all the academies were just like when school started, with the Chiefs standing at the very front.

He saw Duan Chuchu, not far away, wearing a red and white combat suit, showing off her curvaceous figure. She held a sharp clear sword that faintly emitted golden light.

At the Ninth Academy's position, Ao Feng, with exquisite features, was wearing a silver-white combat suit, brandishing a silver Tang horizontal sword in his hand.

As for Huo Wanyang, who stably occupied the first place in the grade, he was over two meters tall, wearing a red combat suit, with a red halberd carried on his shoulder, emitting a sharp metallic luster.

He exuded a fierce aura, very much like the Level 8 calamity beast, the Rending Earth Dragon.

Besides that, there was Li Lei brandishing a battle axe, and the twin sisters from the Third Academy wearing red and blue combat suits.

Standing in the war base, an invisible powerful aura had already been released.

Jiang Tao, wearing a white combat suit, leaned over: "Lin Lin Qi Ge, we have discussed it, everything is according to plan."

"I checked the data from previous years. Although the Calamity Beast Hunting Competition is said to be three days, it's actually only two days and a bit. It ends at 5 PM on the 12th."

"And in previous years, after the team competition points were roughly decided, many people chose to withdraw early."

"We judge that Huo Wanyang, Ao Feng, and the others, once they pull a huge gap with other academies, will likely withdraw halfway to prepare for the individual competition."

"This is our only chance."

Lin Qi nodded. This was the same as what he thought.

The strength of the Cangqiong First, Ninth, and Second Academies was very strong, and the top 20 of their Sixth Academy were not bad.

But the overall quality of the top 100 was still a gap.

If they fought head-on with the First and Ninth Academies, even if his stamina were infinite, he couldn't make up for the overall gap.

Respect the objective gap, and then find a way to solve the problem.

So if their Sixth Academy wanted to get a higher academy ranking, they could only take a risky move.

"Alright, everyone save your stamina for the first two days, try to maintain the ranking in the middle, and wait until Huo Wanyang and the others withdraw on the third day before we exert our strength."

Lin Qi exhorted seriously.

"I understand!" Jiang Tao also nodded. He turned to nod to Guanshan and the other twenty-something people, and everyone understood the situation after looking at each other.

"Students!!"

Just then, Vice Dean Xu Wenji, who was tall and had a beard, was projected in front of everyone.

"Welcome students to participate in the team competition of the freshman grand competition—the Calamity Beast Hunting Competition!"

"Everyone has participated in the actual combat training camp, so I don't need to introduce the rules."

"Our Calamity Beast Hunting Competition will start at 10 AM this morning and last until 5 PM two days later, which is the 12th."

"In this process, you are not allowed to take treatment potions, and can only use supplies and first-aid items in the safe house."

"Everyone will be uniformly issued a smart watch, just like in the actual combat training camp."

"There are also differences in ranking. We press the yellow button to see the point leaderboard of the nine major freshman academies, as well as the individual point leaderboard within the academy."

Everyone nodded. These had all been mentioned in the competition rules issued by the teacher.

"The last point, and also the most critical point."

!

"Every calamity beast killed in the Calamity Beast Hunting Competition will receive a cash reward."

"Hunt a Level 1 calamity beast, get 1 point, reward 1000 Xia currency!"

"Hunt a Level 2 calamity beast, get 10 points, reward 10,000 Xia currency!"

"Hunt a Level 3 calamity beast, get 100 points, reward 50,000 Xia currency!"

"If you want to get more money, then go hunt calamity beasts to your heart's content!!" Xu Wenji announced loudly.

"Boom!!"

As soon as this was said, everyone's enthusiasm was instantly ignited.

Nothing was as direct as getting money. The more calamity beasts you killed, the more money you got.

Lin Qi's eyes also shone. Although he knew about this rule, hearing it from the Vice Dean still made people's blood boil.

He was short of money, very much in need of money.

And this Calamity Beast Hunting Competition was the time when he could make a big profit.

Kill one more, and you could earn more money.

While everyone was rubbing their hands, many staff members began to distribute smart watches.

A large area of black metal balls in the sky also began to rise, ready to be released at any time.

Time passed slowly, and before he knew it, it was 9:59.

Only then did Xu Wenji raise his right hand and announce:

"Next, I announce that the Calamity Beast Hunting Competition officially begins!!"

"Boom!!"

As soon as the words fell, the metal gate made a loud roar and slowly opened toward both sides.

Revealing a deep mountain forest accompanied by broken walls.

"Charge!!"

With shouts, the Chiefs and Senior Sisters of each academy took the lead, rushing out of the crowd like arrows off a string, disappearing into the jungle.

Nine thousand students launched a charge at the same time, like an unstoppable force rushing into the deep mountains.

Lin Qi also turned into a black lightning bolt and rushed into the deep mountains.

The venue for this Calamity Beast Hunting Competition was called the Calamity Beast Park, and its area was several times larger than the ruined town of Tianhai City. This time, it was divided into two areas.

Area 1 was mainly for Level 1 and 2 calamity beasts.

Area 2 was a comprehensive area, where Level 3 calamity beasts would also appear frequently.
