Chapter 12: World of Magic

~5 min read 989 words

Penny—Penny, are you okay?

Seeing Penny fall onto the sofa, Vernon hurried over, helped her up and asked anxiously.

Mom, how do you feel?

Dali also ran over.

But he could see that his mother had no real problem, just a bit frightened.

I'm fine, and that letter…

Penny's expression turned complicated as she looked at the letter in Dali's hand.

"Don't talk about the letter's contents any more; it's a lie!" Vernon shouted, "Look, you see how it scared your mother."

However, the more the two kept it secret, the more Dali wanted to know the truth.

Seeing this, Dali could only exert his ability as much as possible.

The Lawyer ability gave him the power to find opponents' weaknesses, as well as eloquence and persuasiveness, while the Arbiter granted him authority and charisma, allowing him to compel others to achieve his aims to some extent.

Dad, Mom, I think you should know something.

Since the Hogwarts admission letters have already been sent to me and Harry, I think we have the right to know the truth.

Moreover, if the letter's contents are true, we're dealing with a group of wizards with magical abilities; what if they don't receive our reply and send people to capture us?

Also, I've been encountering strange incidents lately; I don't know, what if I lose control and blow up the whole house, what then?

Dali said seriously.

Spiritual power slowly spread, and Dali, possessing Extraordinary Ability, fully unleashed his ability at that moment.

Although his Extraordinary Trait hadn't fully matured, his last time he at least reached the High Sequence, and dealing with two ordinary people without much Extraordinary Ability was still easy.

Sure enough, after Dali finished speaking, Vernon and Penny's expressions grew much more solemn.

They felt Dali was right and indeed began to worry: if they didn't reply, would the wizards send someone to capture them?

And Dali's remark about accidentally blowing up the whole house immediately reminded them of Harry's parents' case; both turned very pale, and even Penny couldn't help but let out a gasp.

So, tell everything you know.

Dali spoke again.

An invisible authority radiated, causing Vernon and Penny at that moment to involuntarily want to reveal everything they knew.

Oh, my god, I knew this day would come, I just knew.

I originally thought that if we concealed that Harry was a wizard, he wouldn't become one, but…

Aunt Penny's voice trembled as she said.

"What am I?" Harry asked, shocked, looking at Aunt Penny.

"Wizard! You are a wizard!" Vernon shouted, then lowered his voice for fear the neighbors would hear.

"I've known you're a freak all along; you and your parents are all freaks!"

Dali raised an eyebrow.

"You're just like my damned sister; I knew from the start you were definitely a wizard, after all, your parents are wizards!"

Penny finally caught her breath and, emotionally, recounted what had happened before.

"Back then, she got that letter and vanished, entering that damned school. Every time she returned from break, her pockets were full of toad eggs, turning teapots into mice. I'm the only one who saw through her—she's a complete freak!"

"But my parents couldn't see clearly; all day Lily was tall, Lily was short, a witch appeared in the house, and they were still happily content."

Penny said with a grim look.

However, Dali noticed that when his mother said those words, her gaze held not only disgust but obvious jealousy.

"She couldn't be someone who also wanted to be a wizard but failed, could she?"

Combining the expression he had seen on Penny earlier, Dali couldn't help but speculate.

Next, Penny recounted some events about Harry's parents and the ending where the two were blown up.

At this point, Dali finally understood what had happened to his aunt, i. e., Harry's family.

His parents had always told him that his aunt's family died in a car accident and rarely mentioned them; now he finally knows the reason.

"My parents are wizards; they didn't die in a car accident, but…"

Harry's complexion was also very pale.

Everything that happened today was too subversive for him.

He had always thought his parents died in a car crash, but they actually died in an explosion, and they were wizards; this is absurdly surreal. A normal little boy encountering all this in such a short time—if he doesn't go mad, that's already good.

"Now you know what that school is—a place that breeds freaks, and it's extremely dangerous; it could explode and kill you," Vernon said viciously.

"So, don't mention that place again!"

Dali paused thoughtfully, then said seriously, "I think that place seems fine; I want to go!"

Would the wizarding world be any different from that bizarre world?

Dali's heart was full of anticipation.

"What? You—you—" Vernon, angry at Dali's words, closed his eyes and then opened them forcefully.

Penny stared at Dali in shock, saying nothing.

"Dad, I think being a wizard is destined from birth."

"If I can become a wizard, it shows I have wizard power inside me; without control and study, it could cause incalculable consequences."

"So I need to go to Hogwarts Magic School."

When Dali spoke, he again employed the Arbiter and Lawyer abilities.

He could not compromise on this; he had to go to that magic school to see for himself.

"You…" Vernon didn't know what to say, turned to Aunt Penny, hoping she could stop Dali.

"Dada little darling, do you... do you really want to go to that school?"

Penny asked with a trembling voice.

"Yes, Mom."

Dali said, walked to his mother's side, and tightly hugged his mother.

"Mom, your Lack completed wish, I will fulfill it for you."

Penny's body visibly stiffened a bit.

Dali released his mother, smiling as he looked at her.

"I think you probably won't stop me, right?"

Penny's complexion changed unpredictably; finally, she sighed and nodded.
