Chapter 2

~6 min read 1,170 words

Feeling Dali's gaze fall upon himself, Harry's complexion suddenly became somewhat uneasy.

"This fat pig won't be hatching some nasty idea again, will he? Damn it."

Harry remained secretly vigilant; today he absolutely must not get too close to Dali.

"Oh, my little sweetheart, come see what your Birthday Gift is this year."

Penny aunt Lack noticed Dali's expression, she covered Dali's eyes with both hands and led Dali toward the table where the Gifts were placed.

"Birthday happy!"

Penny lowered her hands and, together with Fonu, loudly congratulated.

"Wow."

Dali looked at the dazzling array of Gifts before him, he had Lack celebrated Birthday for a long time, even, in that strange world, he Lack had his own Birthday.

"At this moment, if it were the old me, I would probably count the number of Gifts."

Dali briefly recalled, then glanced at the Gift.

"Thirty-seven Gifts." Dali said.

Hearing this, Fonu and Penny exchanged a glance; their keen perception Belief that their son's mood seemed off.

"Dear, you haven't counted Aunt Maggie's Gift yet. Look, it's under the big gift package from your dad and mom."

"Besides, although this year's Gift is one fewer than last year's, it is bigger than last year's."

Penny said cautiously, afraid of angering Dali.

"Like that." Dali nodded.

He actually saw that there were other Gifts beneath that big Gift, but he Believed that, given his past intelligence, he shouldn't be able to figure this out.

But it didn't matter; for Dali now, Gifts weren't important at all.

Seeing that Dali didn't get angry over this, Penny and Fonu became even more panicked.

This definitely isn't a good omen.

Not getting angry might mean the upcoming anger will be even greater.

"How about this: we'll go out later and buy you two more Gifts, what do you think?" Fonu said hurriedly.

"Oh, that's fine." Dali said casually, then he wasn't in a hurry to eat breakfast, waving at Harry and saying: "Harry, come help me unwrap the Gifts."

The Restaurant fell silent at that moment, Penny and Fonu widened their eyes, seeming unable to believe what their son had said.

Harry also showed an Unbelievable look, simultaneously very wary.

"Damn, he's definitely trying to mess with me using this chance." Harry almost instantly made that judgment in his mind: "He doesn't know what other tricks he's thought up to try on me; I absolutely can't go over."

He made up his mind, absolutely not going over.

"Come on, there are so many Gifts, I can't unwrap them all by myself." Dali smiled at Harry and said gently.

Harry's expression shifted slightly; he suddenly felt Dali was right—so many Gifts, unwrapping them alone really is a hassle, helping out seems like a decent option.

Moreover, Dali's speech carried an air of authority; even though his tone seemed very gentle, it made Harry involuntarily want to obey.

Harry slowly walked over and began unwrapping Gifts together with Dali.

Penny and Fonu wore looks of Unbelievable, but since today was Dali's Birthday, they still decided to go along with his wishes.

Harry unwrapped the Gifts, and in a daze he felt he shouldn't trust Dali so much, but that thought quickly vanished, and he began happily helping Dali unwrap his Birthday Gifts.

Having grown this old, he was still unwrapping a Birthday Gift for the first time, even if it was someone else's, but he still felt happy.

"Take whatever you like, just grab it." Dali said generously, "This toy gun isn't bad, do you like it?"

Regarding Harry, Dali felt guilty inside.

After experiencing those terrible things, he is now the person who understands Harry best.

Harry felt somewhat overwhelmed by the favor, not knowing what had gotten into Dali today—he seemed like a completely different person.

But no matter how you look at it, this person in front of him is still the cousin who bullied him since childhood, with no difference at all.

Although he remained wary in his heart, Harry still hoped that such a Dali could continue like this—even if it was an act, please keep it up a bit longer.

As the Gifts were unwrapped down below, they turned out to be quite ordinary trinkets; Dali felt very happy, although these things were no longer what he wanted, but seeing so many normal-world Birthday Gifts again still stirred some emotion.

Harry flipped open the lowest layer of the Gifts and found a book placed there.

It was a Brass Book with thin pages, looking very antiquarian, as if unearthed from an ancient tomb several centuries ago, exuding an aged, mysterious aura.

"Someone actually gave Dali a book—probably brain‑damaged; even if Dali glances at it once, I'd consider that a loss!"

Harry picked up the Brass Book, wanting to flip through it.

If nothing unexpected happens, Dali definitely won't open this book; maybe he can choose this as a Gift, then Dali won't get angry, and he'll have a book to relieve boredom—not bad.

However, a brass‑covered book was still something Harry had never seen before.

Just as Harry was about to pick up that book, Dali seemed to sense something; his gaze fell on the book, and his whole body's breath froze at that moment.

"Telunsuoste Brass Book!"

This book—no, this level Sealed Object—how could it appear here?

Dali's mind went blank for a moment; he widened his eyes, repeatedly confirming that this Brass Book was exactly the same as the Telunsuoste Brass Book in his memory.

The next moment, just as Harry's hand was about to touch the Telunsuoste Brass Book, Dali leapt up, knocked over several Gifts in succession, and snatched the Brass Book into his hand before Harry could.

"I……"

Harry was Stunned for a moment.

Immediately, he understood.

"Kid, who let you touch that book? Hurry up and apologize to Dali." Fonu glared at Dali angrily.

Penny also lengthened her face, looking coldly at Harry.

"Sorry." Harry hurriedly said.

Such an apology may feel stifled, but he knows that if he doesn't apologize, the consequences will be worse.

Dali was indeed just trying to have fun with him.

Dali didn't notice anything else at all; the instant he took hold of that Brass Book, he was certain it was the Sealed Object from that Guiyi Shijie, the 0-02 Sealed Object Trensost Brass Book.

The smaller the number, the higher the rank, indicating the greater the danger of the Sealed Object.

Although the number doesn't represent absolute danger, it's merely named according to the order of discovery, but the fact that this Brass Book could be 0-02 shows its danger level.

Dali's breathing was a bit rapid; for a moment he actually didn't know how to handle this Sealed Object, his mind went blank.

This is not an ordinary Sealed Object; it merely has a slight negative effect, but once it starts activating, it can even Modified an entire area's Underlying Rules, establish an extremely strict set of Laws provisions, and even Modified the world's Underlying Rules.
