Chapter 50: Turning the Tables

~6 min read 1,035 words

"Yes."

Almost without hesitation, Ma Er Fu blurted out.

Lucius, standing aside, was startled; he never expected his son to answer so bluntly.

Sineipu standing beside him slightly furrowed his brows, especially when Dali mentioned Harry's mother, his expression noticeably twitched.

And this slight twitch was caught by Dali's gaze.

"It seems my guess was correct: Sineipu possibly once had feelings for Harry's mother, that is, my aunt."

Dali had a suspicion.

"Do you insult me as a Mudblood?"

Dali asked again.

Ma Er Fu looked at Dali; his brain seemed not to have reacted yet, but his mouth honestly said: "Yes."

Hearing Ma Er Fu answer so bluntly, Lucius could no longer stay seated, immediately shouting: "Ma Er Fu, what are you saying?"

Ma Er Fu was startled by his father's shout, but he seemed not to realize the issue; the questions he answered were indeed what he had said.

Lucius, listen to them.

Dengbulido glanced at Lucius, speaking indifferently.

Lucius still wanted to say something, but upon seeing Dengbulido's gaze, he could only swallow his words.

Seeing this, Dali continued his questioning.

"Ma Er Fu, did you say that Harry would walk the same path as his parents? Equally reckless?"

Ma Er Fu did not answer immediately this time; he thought hard for a moment.

After a moment, he nodded.

"Yes."

Dali smiled slightly and looked at the people around him.

"Harry's parents were killed for resisting Voldemort; that is, do you think Harry walking the same path as his parents is a bad act?"

"Even, do you think resisting Voldemort is wrong?"

"Or rather, your family has always been on Voldemort's side."

Nobody expected Dali to ask such a question; for a moment the entire office fell into silence.

Ma Er Fu was also dumbfounded by the question.

"Yes."

He said blankly.

"Ma Er Fu!"

Lucius's face turned extremely ugly, and he let out a furious roar.

"Ah!! No, I mean, what I mean is..."

Ma Er Fu fell into utter panic, unable even to accurately express his meaning.

Sweat had already appeared on his forehead.

Faced with Dali's questioning, he felt an unprecedented pressure.

Especially when Dali questioned, there was a strong sense of authority that made him involuntarily follow Dali's words, even unaware of what he himself had said.

"Mr. Ma Er Fu, I'm done questioning; if your family is on Voldemort's side, then all this makes sense."

Dali looked at Lucius Ma Er Fu, speaking coldly.

"After all, it was Harry who stopped Voldemort, and he destroyed the Dark Lord you believed in."

"You wanting revenge on Harry is only natural."

"Besides, you even bear a grudge against me, wanting to eliminate me."

"Poor my aunt's family, killed at the hands of the Dark Lord, and now they still suffer persecution from your family; this Magic World is truly disappointing."

Dali said.

"You... you..."

Lucius was startled by Dali's questioning; he never expected this brat to drag these matters onto the Dark Lord, which was completely beyond his expectations.

"Now I understand; I was wondering why Ma Er Fu targeted Harry, but now Dali's words make it clear."

Professor Mai Ge gave Lucius and Draco a deep look.

"No, no, that's not right; listen to me, our family has absolutely nothing to do with the Dark Lord."

Lucius grew a little panicked.

Their family had indeed followed Voldemort before, but fortunately he had some connections with the Minister of Magic; seeing the situation turn bad, he immediately shifted allegiance, thus saving his life and clearing everything.

Now being hit with this question from Dali, the original petty squabble between children has escalated to him being a follower of the Dark Lord, even openly persecuting Harry Potter to avenge the Dark Lord—this blame is too huge.

Moreover, their family's background is inherently impure and cannot withstand investigation.

"I have not, I am not; I simply dislike Harry and want to deal with him, having nothing to do with the Dark Lord."

Draco hurriedly said.

"So, you want to persecute Harry to avenge the Dark Lord, right?"

Dali looked at Ma Er Fu and continued questioning.

"I... am not..."

Ma Er Fu was almost brought to tears by Dali's questioning.

For so many years, no one has ever questioned him like this; the logic is tight and clear, leaving him unable to refute, not knowing how to counter.

"Professor Dengbulido, you see, they are simply persecuting me and Harry to avenge the Dark Lord."

Dengbulido glanced at Dali, then at Lucius; his gaze was profound, unfathomable.

"Dengbulido, it's not like that, don't listen to this child's nonsense." Lucius said anxiously, a flush rose on his pale cheeks.

Immediately, his gaze turned to Sineipu, hoping Sineipu would say a few words at this moment.

However, Sineipu acted as if he hadn't seen Lucius, saying nothing at all.

Even when Ma Er Fu admitted to having said that Harry's mother should die, he had no intention of helping Ma Er Fu anymore.

"Lucius, are you really targeting Harry and Dali for the Dark Lord?"

Dengbulido asked in a solemn tone.

"No, of course not, we're just...... just......"

Lucius almost blurted out that he just wanted to deal with Harry, but he couldn't say that.

"We can discuss this matter from the beginning again, I......"

Lucius tried to change the subject; he couldn't let Dali keep saying this, otherwise if this got out, he would have no way to explain it.

"By the way, Professor Dengbulido, do you still remember that incident at Gulingge?"

Dali suddenly asked.

"Hmm."

Dengbulido nodded, looking at Dali.

The others all showed thoughtful expressions, guessing what Dali was referring to. Soon they all thought of the same thing: the incident where Harry and Dali were attacked at Gulingge and nearly killed.

"Harry and I almost died at Gulingge; could it be that this wasn't a coincidence, but that someone had intended to kill Harry there all along?"

After Dali said that, he slightly raised his gaze, looking at Lucius and Draco.

"If I remember correctly, I seemed to have seen Mr. Malfoy at Gulingge that day; you were there at the scene, right?"

Dali asked with a deep gaze.
