Chapter 52: Too Similar

~6 min read 1,034 words

"The Gulingge affair, do you know what's going on?"

Lucius lowered his voice and asked.

"How could I possibly know?"

Sineipu said coldly.

"Someone said… he's back."

A hint of panic flickered in Lucius's eyes.

Sineipu was silent for a moment, then said, "I don't know what you're talking about."

As the words fell, Sineipu turned and left.

"You know who I'm talking about; if he really is back, then we…"

Lucius's face darkened, and he lowered his voice to Sineipu's retreating back, but Sineipu paid him no heed.

The black cloak billowed high as Sineipu vanished quickly around the corridor corner.

"Damned."

Lucius muttered a curse under his breath.

"Father."

Ma Er Fu came up.

"Let's go."

Lucius didn't want to say anything more and hurried toward the school's exit.

"Dali's matter…"

Ma Er Fu seemed about to say something.

"Don't bring up that kid again."

"Also, are you possessed today? You answer whatever that kid asks, and you speak without thinking—do you realize how much trouble that's caused me?"

Lucius said irritably.

"I… I don't know either."

Ma Er Fu's face turned pale.

He also didn't know what was happening; whatever Dali asked, he answered, and looking back now, it truly seemed like he was possessed.

"Wait."

Lucius suddenly halted, eyeing Ma Er Fu suspiciously.

"Is it Magic?"

He suddenly Realised something.

Earlier in Dengbulido's office, even his emotions seemed affected, behaving oddly.

At least he was less rational and calm.

Lucius drew the wand from his staff, muttered a spell silently, and carefully examined himself and Ma Er Fu.

"Lack of Magic trace, looks like not."

Retracting the wand, Lucius whispered to himself.

"Perhaps it was the lighting; Dengbulido's office is too dim, making me a bit irritable."

Lucius thought.

He didn't Suspect Dali—a child just entering the Magic academy couldn't wield such advanced Magic.

But he Suspects Dengbulido.

Of Course, that possibility is extremely low.

Dengbulido wouldn't leave such an obvious clue.

"That Dali really is damned; I'll never let him go."

Ma Er Fu said viciously.

"Having ideas is good, but we need patience, understand?"

Lucius said.

"I know." Ma Er Fu nodded.

"Let's go; I won't just let this slide."

Once the recent uproar dies down, he'll have plenty of ways to deal with that Dali.

The only thing that unsettles him is the Black-clad man from Gulingge who tried to attack Harry.

If that person truly is the Dark Lord, then…

Lucius shivered involuntarily.

In Dengbulido's office.

"Dali De Si Li."

Professor Dengbulido softly whispered Dali's name, twirling the wand in his hand.

"Ah, Dengbulido, you seem to place special emphasis on this student."

On the shelf, the Sorting Hat suddenly spoke.

"You heard it; Professor McGonagall praises him highly. He managed to successfully cast a Transfiguration spell in the first lesson, which ordinary young wizards can't achieve."

"Moreover, the talent he just displayed before me—mastery of language, logical thinking—these aren't things an eleven‑year‑old child could manage."

"It's… too similar."

Dengbulido said.

He seemed to be talking to himself, yet also conversing with the Sorting Hat.

"Like? Like what?"

The Sorting Hat asked doubtfully.

"Nothing."

Dengbulido shook his head, got up, and walked upstairs.

The fight was temporarily over.

Dali and the others received no punishment, which let them all breathe a sigh of relief.

Friday morning.

Dali and the others were eating breakfast in the hall.

"What classes do we have today?" Harry asked Dali while putting sugar into his cereal.

"Unfortunately, we have two Magic Pill classes today, together with the Slytherin students." Dali said while eating a pumpkin pie.

"Oh, no!"

Luoen let out a wail, and the dessert in his hand instantly lost its appeal.

In Dengbulido's office, they had already come into close contact with the head of Slytherin House; it was clear that he was completely on Ma Er Fu's side.

Moreover, from the way he looked at Harry, everyone could feel his dislike.

It's easy to imagine how difficult these two Magic Pill classes will be.

"I heard from my brothers that Professor Sineipu especially favors Slytherin students, and with what happened before with Ma Er Fu, I feel that during these two classes we'll probably have a miserable time." Luoen said sadly.

"Not necessarily."

Hermione's voice came from beside Luoen; she didn't know when she had appeared there.

"Professors like students who study well; as long as we perform well, I believe he won't be too biased against us."

Hermione said seriously.

"To perform well enough in his class, I've already memorized most of the Magic Pill material in advance; I'm sure I can help Gryffindor earn points."

Luoen rolled his eyes.

"Even if you memorized the whole book, it wouldn't help."

Hermione glared at Luoen.

"Just a reminder: you'd better read the Magic Pill book beforehand, otherwise you won't know anything when asked."

Hermione finished speaking and walked away angrily.

"Is there something wrong with her?"

Luoen looked at Harry.

Harry spread his hands helplessly.

He then looked at Dali.

Dali pretended not to see.

The love-hate grudges among children, he couldn't be bothered to get involved.

Luoen still wanted to say something, just then the mail arrived.

Hundreds of owls flew into the hall, circling above the dining tables until they found their owners, then dropping letters or packages toward them.

Dali had previously received a letter from his parents inquiring about his situation, but they obviously weren't very accepting of owls as mail carriers; a mistake might have occurred when sending it, resulting in Dali receiving only half of the letter when he got it.

Half in the physical sense.

Later Dali borrowed Harry's Hedwig to reply, telling them not to worry about him.

"Wow."

Harry let out an exclamation.

Hedwig threw a letter in front of Harry, then snatched a bit of toast from his hand and happily flew away.

"It's a letter from Hagrid, inviting us to have tea at his place this afternoon."

Harry opened the letter and said.

"The premise is that we survive Professor Sineipu's Magic Pill class."

Luoen said.

Harry's originally happy smile instantly collapsed.

After finishing their meal, the three of them unwillingly walked toward the Magic Pill classroom.
