Chapter 69: Evil Aura
Sineipu glared at Dali, and after a moment said, "Defying a teacher, Gryffindor loses ten points."
"As for the rule‑breaking you mentioned, we'll later verify with Professor Dengbulido; if it's proven you're lying, believe me, this time no one can protect you."
"Now, go wait for me at Professor Dengbulido's office Doorway!"
Dali, obediently, nodded, "Alright, professor."
Dali said nothing more, passed by Sineipu's side, and saw Professor Quirrell standing at the hallway corner, his face tense.
"Good evening, Professor Quirrell."
"You… hello."
Professor Quirrell stammered in response.
Dali gave a polite smile, left, and headed toward Professor Dengbulido's office.
Sineipu stared at Dali's back, and only after Dali vanished completely did he turn to look at Professor Quirrell.
"The castle hasn't been peaceful lately, so I hope you understand your duties rather than cause trouble," Sineipu pressed toward Professor Quirrell, his long hooked nose almost touching Quirrell's face.
"How could…?"
Quirrell stepped back one pace, stammering.
Sineipu hummed, then turned and left.
Dali arrived at the eighth floor, walked along the corridor toward Professor Dengbulido's office.
"Come to think of it, I'm quite diligent in coming to Professor Dengbulido's office; I probably come more often than many teachers."
Dali thought to himself.
Suddenly.
Dali's expression shifted slightly, and he halted.
He looked at the wall beside him.
He felt that this bare wall seemed somehow off, but he couldn't pinpoint exactly what was off.
Dali activated Spiritual Sight, looking at the wall.
"I can't see anything, but it just feels wrong."
Dali frowned, stared for a while and found nothing unusual.
Immediately, he turned to look behind him.
Here was also a wall, on which hung a tapestry depicting Giant Monster clubbing Shaba Naba. Dali had heard the story: a wizard named Shaba Naba tried to teach the Giant Monster ballet, and was clubbed by the monster, a scene with a touch of dark humor.
"What are you doing?"
Sineipu's figure abruptly appeared at the end of the corridor.
"I am admiring this painting."
Dali shut down Spiritual Sight, smiled, and said.
Sineipu glanced at the tapestry, found nothing odd, and coldly said, "I told you to wait at Professor Dengbulido's office Doorway, not to admire a tapestry here; Gryffindor loses five points."
Dali offered no rebuttal; he knew Sineipu was eager to find any chance to dock more points.
He didn't mind, but felt sorry for Hermione, not knowing how desperate she would be when she woke up the next day to see Gryffindor down by so many points.
"Follow me."
Soon, Sineipu led Dali to Professor Dengbulido's office.
"Ah, Severus, and Dali, this late, what business do you have with me?"
Professor Dengbulido, dressed in a nightgown, gazed at Sineipu and Dali and asked.
"Earlier I ran into Dali De Si Li in the Fourth Floor corridor; he said you permitted him to roam the castle at night and, to some extent, to break school rules. Is that so?" Sineipu asked.
"Yes." Dengbulido glanced at Dali, nodded.
"Why?" Sineipu asked, his face somewhat grim.
"Severus, Dali possesses a strong gift; he can sense some evil things. I hope he can use his gift to help me locate hidden dangers in the castle," Dengbulido said without hesitation.
Sineipu clearly hadn't expected Dengbulido to say that; his face showed a noticeable pause.
"He? Sensing evil things?" Regaining his composure, Sineipu looked disdainfully at Dali, "If I may be frank, you'd be better off trusting the Giant Monster's intelligence than his gift."
"Professor Sineipu, how can you assume I lack such a gift?" Dali said, dissatisfied.
Dali said, dissatisfied.
In front of Dengbulido, Sineipu wouldn't freely dock Gryffindor points, so Dali felt emboldened.
Sineipu's expression cold, he glanced at Dali and said, "Then, Mr. De Si Li, during your wanderings in the castle, have you discovered any evil things?"
Dali nodded, "Yes!"
Dengbulido and Sineipu's gazes instantly fixed on Dali, and even the hanging portraits of former headmasters around them twitched slightly, ears perking up.
Gossip truly is human nature.
"What did you discover?" Dengbulido asked.
"For example, Professor Sineipu himself has an evil aura."
Dali said bluntly.
"De Si Li, do you know what you're saying? Randomly insulting a professor is a serious accusation. If you cannot give me a satisfactory answer, I will demand your immediate expulsion as a disrespectful, fight‑only violent student."
Sineipu, unable to tolerate any longer, said.
He had expected Dali to mention some baseless evil thing to divert attention, but didn't expect Dali to actually accuse him.
Dengbulido also frowned, clearly not accepting Dali's accusation.
This easily suggests that Dali is using this chance to take revenge on Sineipu.
"You claim you have no evil aura, then Professor Sineipu, will you let me see your left arm?"
Dali's sharp gaze fixed directly on Sineipu's left arm.
At this moment, Sineipu's expression changed instantly; he subconsciously withdrew his left arm, but quickly Realisation this was wrong and put it down, but just this action already revealed Sineipu's panic.
"How? Professor Sineipu, you don't dare?"
Dali curled the corner of his mouth into a slight smile, turned his head, and looked toward Dengbulido.
He noticed that Dengbulido's expression also changed, but it was not surprise or anger, but rather understanding.
It was unexpected, yet reasonable.
"Professor Dengbulido, I originally did not want to Suspect the teacher, but since you asked, I can only tell you my findings. On Professor Sineipu's body, I sensed an evil aura; although this aura is not very strong, I confirmed it does exist, and the position where the evil aura is strongest is his left arm."
Dali said solemnly.
"To check whether my judgment is correct is actually simple; just let Professor Sineipu reveal his left arm and it will be known."
"This unshielded evil aura is not deeply hidden; it can easily be detected."
Dali continued speaking.
Sineipu looked at Dengbulido with an unpleasant expression, while Dengbulido also looked at Sineipu, and the entire office fell into a dead silence for a moment.
