Chapter 86: Decree
"Follow me, and remember, don't lift both feet off the floor at the same time; otherwise, if we're judged to be running, we'll be punished."
Dali said to Harry and the others.
"Okay."
At this point the three of them had no thoughts of their own; whatever Dali said, they would just do.
Dali set off immediately, walking slowly toward Ma Er Fu and the others; that way led to the stairs up.
"Don't come over."
Ma Er Fu saw Dali approaching, his face full of terror.
"I don't have time to deal with you; if you don't want to die outside, you should go back to your Slytherin common room right now. Remember, don't run, or you'll die in a horrible way."
Dali looked at Ma Er Fu writhing and retreating on the ground and said coldly.
"Or, you could crawl back that way, too."
Ma Er Fu's face turned pale, the severe pain in his back scrambling his thoughts, but after hearing Dali's words, he regained some sense.
At least Dali and the three of them had proven that as long as you don't run in the corridor, you won't be punished.
Without hesitation, Ma Er Fu immediately tried to stand up.
Gao Er and Ke La Bu also struggled to get up.
They had no idea what had happened, but they knew it was best to follow Dali's instructions now.
Ma Er Fu glanced at Ke La Bu, signaling with his eyes that Ke La Bu should be the first to try.
Ke La Bu was reluctant, but seeing Ma Er Fu's fierce gaze, could only step forward unwillingly.
After waiting a breath or two, confirming no punishment would follow, Ma Er Fu hurried toward the stairs.
He didn't want to stay another second in this damned place.
So, within Dali and the others' sight, they saw the three of Ma Er Fu twisting their hips, gasping in pain, and switching to running mode, racing straight for the stairs.
"Remember, if an unexplained punishment appears, don't force your way back to the common room; find a nearby classroom and hide in it."
Dali said to Ma Er Fu's back.
Ma Er Fu gave no reply, but took note in his mind.
"Dali, why warn them? Let them suffer some punishment; they deserve it."
Luoen couldn't help but say.
"If I don't warn them, they might die."
Dali said with a grave expression.
"What?"
Harry, Luoen, and Hermione's faces turned ashen instantly.
They thought this was just a newly issued, wildly unreasonable Hogwarts rule, but even so, it shouldn't cause death. They had previously assumed Dali was merely scaring Ma Er Fu.
After all, this is a school, not a prison; even if you break a school rule, you shouldn't face such severe punishment, let alone death?
"Hard to say; let's first go check the auditorium."
Dali gave no further explanation.
He wasn't sure how much 002's ability had manifested, but he knew that once this Rule Book kept issuing new Decrees, its punishments would become increasingly severe.
Right now it's just whipping, the lightest punishment, but next could be severed limbs, up to a death sentence.
Moreover, if 002 sentences you to death, there's no chance of rescue; it's death in the sense of the rules, instantly erasing your life—so absolute.
"Uniqueness."
The term suddenly flashed in Dali's mind.
In an instant, his face grew pale, his mind filled with countless frantic mutterings, making him feel his brain might explode.
"The Uniqueness of the Judge's Path."
Dali, his face pale, leaned against the wall.
"Dali, what's wrong with you?"
Harry exclaimed, quickly grabbing Dali.
Bright red nosebleed spurted from Dali's nose, dripping onto the floor and blooming into crimson flowers; his face was very pale, his features twisted terrifyingly, like a monster ready to devour.
"It's fine."
Dali shook his head hard, wiping away the blood.
The Trensost Brass Book is the Uniqueness of the Judge's Path, a key item for becoming a True God.
But this Uniqueness seems to have a problem.
Dali dared not think further; he feared that at this moment he might trigger something he shouldn't understand, causing even more unpredictable anomalies.
Especially, Dali now has a dual path, which in that Guiyi Shijie is almost impossible to appear in a Low Sequence, because anyone who dares do so loses control.
Dali's current world is not the same as that Guiyi Shijie, which can lessen the loss‑of‑control effect, allowing him to assimilate two Extraordinary Traits simultaneously.
Yet this is extremely dangerous; if it goes wrong, Dali would almost certainly die.
Dali recovered a bit, and with Harry's support, the four returned to the Doorway entrance shortly after.
It had long been empty, no one in sight.
But the yellow notice at the Doorway now had additional content that wasn't there before.
"Running is prohibited in the corridor for everyone; violators will receive Whipping Punishment."
"Sure enough, it appeared; before there was no subsequent punishment measure."
Harry, seeing this Decree, said immediately.
"That's right; I recall it only forbade running in the corridor, without specifying any punishment," Luoen added immediately.
"So the punishment clause was added later? Who actually did it?"
Hermione frowned and said.
"I don't know, but I think ordinary people certainly can't do such a thing, because it requires extremely powerful Magic," Harry said.
When he said that, the first person that came to his mind was Dengbulido.
There's no denying it; as the headmaster of Hogwarts and one of the greatest wizards today, Professor Dengbulido indeed possesses such power.
But this clearly contradicts Professor Dengbulido's principles, and Harry also does not want to believe that this rule was made up by Professor Dengbulido.
"You all go back to the dormitory first; I'll investigate this matter,"
Dali said gravely.
"It's too dangerous; let's all go back together. This isn't something we should be involved in," Harry said immediately.
Dali shook his head.
If this were truly just a Magic incident, then Of Course he could ignore it, but now, it is clearly a problem caused by the Trensost Brass Book he brought, so he cannot stay out of it.
Moreover, at present he is the only one who could possibly seal this thing.
"Look, a new Decree Appearance,"
Luoen suddenly shouted.
Everyone's gaze immediately fell on the yellow notice board, where the characters slowly Appearance, as if written out of thin air.
"Curfew: After nine o'clock, movement in the corridors is prohibited for everyone; violators will receive Whipping Punishment."
Dali's gaze tightened slightly, and the Decree's restrictions grew larger.
But at the same time, he also discovered some issues with the Decree.
