Chapter 182
Murphy!
Tom felt inexplicably nervous; he hurriedly put the diary away and looked around; there were no smelly socks exposed outside.
He had just tidied up the room when the door was opened.
"Th-thank you for coming to pick me up..."
He summoned all his courage, almost closing his eyes to let himself finish the sentence.
But there was no reaction from the other side; he opened his eyes and saw a little girl with a pale face standing outside the door.
"You..."
Tom's face flushed with shame.
And the little girl opposite suddenly turned even paler, "Sorry... ugh..."
……
Murphy gently stroked Hermione's back, "Mrs. Cole, do you have any motion sickness medicine?"
"Yes, yes." Mrs. Cole hurriedly went to find medicine for Hermione.
"You, aren't you a magician? Why don't you use magic to cure her?!" After Mrs. Cole walked away, Tom suddenly spoke; his face was still burning, and he was disgusted with Murphy to the extreme; what kind of bullshit diary, if you want to be angry, be angry, I don't believe I can't go to the magic school by myself!
However, unexpectedly, Murphy was not angry, "Magic can cure her, but Apparition is something you always have to get used to; just vomit a few more times and you'll be fine."
Saying this, he stood up.
Tom then discovered that this professor was extremely tall; he looked up at the other party as if looking at a high tower.
Murphy extended a hand.
In an instant, Tom shrank back; the latter noticed this, squatted down again, and the hand that was originally going to cover his head finally rested on his shoulder, "Young man, quite polite."
Saying this, he patted him on the shoulder, "You have a bright future; I have high hopes for you."
Tom was stunned.
For a moment, he couldn't describe what kind of feeling that was.
He subconsciously knocked off the hand resting on his shoulder, but for some reason, he didn't want to say any more mocking words.
And Murphy didn't mind, "Do you have any luggage? Pack it up; we'll go to Diagon Alley later to help you add some things, and then we'll set off."
"By the way, say goodbye to your friends; you probably won't be able to come back here in the future."
"I... I don't have any friends." Tom finally said.
"Oh," Murphy didn't seem surprised, "Normal; I didn't have any friends when I was a child either."
"However, some things, the process should still be completed; have a beginning and an end. Just follow me."
After Murphy finished speaking, he went to find Mrs. Cole and said a few words; after hearing them, the latter suddenly covered her mouth.
She walked over and hugged Tom in her arms, "Oh, Lucas, thank you, child; I love you too, and I will miss you too. I wish you happiness in your new school, dear."
Tom was confused; what's going on?
He looked at Murphy blankly, but the latter had an inexplicable smile and even gave him an improper salute with two fingers.
What are you doing?
He instinctively wanted to push Mrs. Cole away, but the latter hugged him very tightly; he tried, but finally gave up; seeing that Mrs. Cole still wouldn't let go, he hesitated for a moment, endured the discomfort in his heart, and gently patted the latter on the back.
But unexpectedly, this made the latter hug him even tighter.
"Mrs., Mrs. Cole..." Tom was almost out of breath.
Finally, the director finally let him go, "Come on, Lucas, say goodbye to your friends."
"But, but I don't have any friends..."
"What are you talking about, silly child."
In a short while, the children in the orphanage all came to the hall.
"In the past, I worried that your friends leaving would make you feel sad, so I didn't let you say goodbye properly, but that wasn't good. Now, Lucas is leaving us; everyone give him a hug and then bless him; I hope that in the future, you will all walk out of here with blessings, rather than full of regrets."
Just as Mrs. Cole finished speaking, a girl suddenly ran over and hugged Tom, "Lucas! I thought you were ignoring us!"
What?
Tom was still confused.
Do we know each other?
"I thought you were angry with us..."
A few more boys and girls walked up; they surrounded Tom and hugged him, "Goodbye, Lucas. You must be happy! Don't forget us!"
"Goodbye, buddy!"
"Goodbye, Lucas, come back to see us."
"You must be happy, Lucas."
"Good luck, brother."
"Goodbye."
"Bye-bye."
Countless hands patted Tom's back and shoulders, and some people touched his face, ruffled his hair, someone lifted him up fiercely, and even spun him around; a girl even kissed him.
"What... is this?"
Tom looked blankly at those children, some crying, some laughing; he didn't understand the expressions on their faces, yet those pats, those hugs, he didn't feel any malice.
It seemed that something warm was passed over through their words, tears, and hugs, making his heart feel like it was about to be filled.
"Go, goodbye."
Finally, he said, and this sentence seemed to jump out of his mouth by itself.
"I will remember you."
His gaze swept across those faces.
He was very puzzled; why did he forget these people?
After a while, Tom walked out of the crowd; they walked out of the hall, and those boys and girls as well as Mrs. Cole were waving at him.
Hermione Granger was already crying like a fountain.
Tom was very surprised, "What are you crying for?"
Hermione's little face was pale, and she was crying so hard she could barely breathe, sobbing, "Aren't you crying too?"
"I'm crying?" Tom was stunned, and reached out to wipe his eyes.
Sure enough, they were wet.
"This... this, what is this?" Tom looked at the only adult beside him in panic, hoping to get his explanation.
"This, ah..." Murphy smiled, suddenly opened his arms, and hugged both children in his arms, one on the left and one on the right, "This is love, Tom."
"Love?"
Tom looked at the tears in his hands, "Love is tears?"
"That's right, my friend."
"Love is tears."
"Love is sadness."
"Love is parting."
"Love is something that makes you suffer."
"Only by being deeply concerned, only by going through many twists and turns, only by crying bitterly, only by having your heart broken, can you prove the traces that love once existed."
"However, my friend."
"Without pain, how can there be happiness?"
"Without sadness, how can there be joy?"
"Without parting, how can there be reunion?"
"Without tears, how can there be laughter?"
"They are originally one body with two sides, mutually internal and external."
Saying this, Murphy reached out and gently tapped Tom on the chest, "Those things in the tears, those things wrapped in sadness, parting, and pain, haven't you already received them?"
Tom touched his chest blankly.
He still didn't understand Murphy's words, yet he could vaguely feel that although it was the same pain, the same tears, the pain and tears at this moment were different from the past.
Inside them, there was no such cold and terrifying void; instead, there was a warm, soft core.
I don't know when, but his tears flowed even more.
"To gain the joy of love, one must first realize the sadness of love."
Tom, this is the first lesson I'm teaching you.
