Chapter 209

~8 min read 1,432 words

The students suddenly became restless, but Dumbledore soon stood up to stabilize the situation, having the prefects lead the young wizards of their respective houses back to their dormitories.

Harry and the others also followed the crowd out of the Great Hall, but Hermione suddenly grabbed them.

"Tom!"

"He doesn't know about the troll yet!"

Harry and Ron looked at each other, "We have to go tell him."

"If I'd known, I should have made the goblin gold coins earlier!" Ron sighed.

"I'm going with you!" Hermione said.

"You?"

"We're a group," Hermione said, "and do you even know where the girls' bathroom is?"

A moment later, Murphy, who was preparing to follow the professors to the underground classrooms, saw three figures sneaking away and felt a moment of not knowing what expression to wear.

Is this the convergence of the world line?

You three really have to go head-to-head with a troll, don't you?

Forget it, it's quite interesting anyway.

On the other side.

Tom, having walked out of Moaning Myrtle's bathroom, was preparing to attend the Halloween feast.

He was still pondering in his head what Myrtle had said: a pair of terrifyingly large yellow eyes? What was that?

Unfortunately, before he could ask about Tom Riddle, he was chased out by Myrtle.

But it didn't matter; he still got a piece of news: Hagrid was expelled back then because of Myrtle's death.

Hagrid!

So he was at the school at that time, and since he was involved in the case back then, he must know Tom Riddle.

He would go ask him together with Harry later.

While he was pondering, he suddenly smelled a foul stench. He frowned, and then heard a clattering sound, as if someone was causing destruction in an abandoned classroom nearby.

It was probably Peeves, Tom didn't pay him any mind, but just then, a large foot stepped out from the classroom ahead.

The concentration of the stench suddenly rose by several levels. Looking up, a huge monster with gray-green skin was crawling out of that classroom and into the corridor.

The monster was extremely tall, its head almost touching the ceiling, its limbs thick and sturdy, its two legs like tree stumps, its arms so long they almost hung to its knees, and it was carrying a huge wooden club in its hand.

Compared to its body, its pointed head looked much more delicate, and with a pair of bat ears, it looked very unintelligent.

A troll?!

He had seen this kind of monster in books; its intelligence was very low, but it was very dangerous because their strength was indeed too great, their skin had good magic resistance, and they were carnivorous, with humans also on their menu.

Subconsciously, Tom hid behind an old wizard statue.

The troll didn't discover him and wandered into another classroom. Tom quickly took the opportunity to slip down the stairs, preparing to tell the professors about the troll.

He had just arrived on the first floor when he saw a figure running past in the distance; it seemed to be Snape. He just wanted to call out to him, but then he saw three young wizards crawl out from behind a sphinx stone carving. They were talking about something while hurriedly going upstairs via another staircase.

"That looks like... Harry and the others?"

Why are they going upstairs at this time? There's a troll over there!

He hurriedly chased after them, but didn't dare to shout loudly for fear of alerting the troll. However, the three little ones had disappeared in a flash, and the corridor was empty, with no sign of them.

Maybe they discovered the troll and went back?

Just then, a miserable scream came from somewhere in the distance, followed by a "Bang!" as if something had smashed onto the ground.

"Roar!"

Now it was certain, Harry and the others had actually encountered the troll!

Tom frowned, hesitating whether to find a teacher first or go help, but in the end, he gritted his teeth and rushed toward the direction the sound came from.

The troll's movements were not agile; he could go check the situation first, and if it was bad, he could still escape.

Before long, he found himself back at the girls' bathroom. It was a mess inside, the sinks and toilet stalls were smashed, water was spraying everywhere, and the three little wizards were blocked at the door by a troll, trying to fight it.

When he arrived, he happened to see the troll raising its wooden club. Without time to think, Tom drew his wand, "Expelliarmus!"

A red flash of the spell flickered and hit the troll, but the latter only froze for a moment. The wooden club in its hand seemed to be tugged by a force, but the troll's claws were gripped tight, and the club didn't fly away as Tom had imagined.

Magic resistance?

"Incarcerous!"

A rope appeared out of thin air, looped around the troll's neck, and bound its raised arm and upper body.

The troll struggled and twisted its body. It finally noticed the attacker behind it. It angrily tugged at the rope on its body, and suddenly, with a snap, it actually tore them apart.

"Roar!"

The troll was very angry, raised its wooden club, and swept it toward Tom.

Tom quickly lowered his head, and the club smashed into the wall beside him, shaking down a large pile of dust from the ceiling. The wall that was hit seemed to crack, and several stone bricks were dented.

"Tom!" Harry yelled, suddenly climbed onto a sink that was still intact, leaped up, and clamped onto the troll's neck from behind.

He actually didn't know what he was doing, but he couldn't watch the troll attack his classmate.

The troll didn't feel Harry's movements much at first, but Harry soon grabbed its ears and pulled hard to the side, making the troll irritable, waving its hands to try to grab Harry down.

Tom was shocked; how is this guy so brave!

If he were caught by the troll, he would definitely be smashed into a meat patty.

He couldn't delay any longer. He threw away the wand in his hand, pulled out the snakewood wand from his waist again, and while the opponent was distracted by Harry, he aimed at the troll, "Expelliarmus!"

A huge red spark shot out from the wand and hit the troll. The powerful magic even knocked the opponent back half a step, making him stumble and fall backward. The wooden club in his hand also seemed to be pulled away by a great force and was flung out, smashing into a classroom door with a boom, the huge force even smashing that door to pieces.

Tom looked at the wand in his hand in shock.

Too strong!

Is this the wand made by the so-called power of science?

Harry nimbly took the opportunity to jump off the troll, avoiding the troll's back as it fell, "Tom, quick, stun him!"

Tom didn't delay either, stepped forward, and pointed his wand at the troll's head, "Expelliarmus!"

"Bang!" Another beam hit the troll's head, smashing it hard against the ground, making a terrifying muffled sound. The troll rolled its eyes, stuck out its tongue, and fainted in a comical manner.

"Wow! Tom, you defeated the troll!" Hermione called out, excited.

Compared to the original work, because there were two followers from the beginning, she didn't have much fear, just very nervous. Now that the threat was lifted, the nervousness all turned into excitement.

She felt the whole thing was quite interesting too.

"Why did you come up here?" Tom asked.

"Of course to save you!" Ron said, "Professor Quirrell said there was a troll outside, we were afraid you'd encounter danger, so we came to remind you... but ended up being saved by you."

Tom felt a bit amused, but a warm, itchy feeling rose in his heart. He felt like he couldn't control the corners of his mouth rising.

"By the way, I just saw..."

Before he finished speaking, he suddenly saw the three little ones all gasping.

Ron looked behind him.

"To..." Hermione seemed to want to say something.

Harry reacted the fastest, reaching out to pull him.

At that instant, Tom suddenly caught a glimpse of something smashing over from the left side of his body.

"Bang!" Suddenly a loud noise, a wooden club as thick as a person's embrace smashed into Tom's body with terrifying force, smashing him flying out like a baseball.

"No!!"

"Tom!"
