Chapter 247

~7 min read 1,257 words

It wasn't until Easter that the Mandrake finally reached a usable level; Snape's antidote was made, and he came to the school hospital for the second time to visit Harry.

He came at noon, and Harry had finished lunch and was taking a nap.

Snape stood by the bed for a long time; the afternoon sun shone on that face that was almost exactly the same as in his memory, and he felt as if he had returned to the time when he first entered school.

"Lily," he heard himself say, "I'm sorry."

"Professor?" Harry woke up and was startled to see Snape, "When did you come?"

That confused look made Snape wake up instantly; Lily wouldn't show such a silly look, but for some reason, his tone still softened a lot, "Your antidote has been made."

He said, taking out a small bottle of potion from his sleeve, lifting his head, and still handing it over slowly with a stance of keeping people at a distance.

"Tha, thank you Professor……" Harry took it cautiously.

"Look at me." Snape suddenly said.

Harry was startled and looked at Snape blankly.

The latter kept staring at him, and that complex expression made Harry panic.

Could it be that he discovered I suspected him of stealing the Magic Stone? There wouldn't be poison in this antidote, would it?

He even chanted a spell to kill me before; can this antidote be drunk?

So many people know that he helped me make the antidote; he can't just poison it directly, right?

But what if he did? At that time, he would only need to push it off casually, saying that he didn't expect the effect of the antidote or something, and it would pass; after all, the sex-change potion had never appeared before.

Harry fell into extreme entanglement, but he didn't dare to drink the antidote no matter what now.

Fortunately, Snape didn't force him to drink it now; after a long time, he closed his eyes, his voice as weak as if he were the one who was sick, "Wait until I leave, then drink it."

After speaking, he left.

Walking out of the school hospital, Snape almost stumbled into the courtyard; he felt as if he were watching Lily leave again.

Infinite longing welled up from the bottom of his heart, followed by endless guilt, and the heart-piercing pain that almost tore him into two pieces.

He knew that Harry only turned into that state because he accidentally took the potion.

Of course he knew he wasn't Lily.

But, that appearance, those eyes……

It was exactly the same as her who had always lingered in his dreams for countless years.

The moment he handed the antidote to the other party with his own hands, he felt as if he had lost her again, and the pain almost suffocated him.

"Professor…… Professor Snape……"

Suddenly, he heard someone calling him; turning his head, it was Murphy Darkholm.

"A few of us professors are planning to go to the Three Broomsticks for a drink later; want to come together?" Murphy asked.

Today is Easter, the school is on holiday, so the professors agreed to go to the bar for a drink to relax.

"Stay, away from me." Snape almost forced himself to roar to say this sentence.

If there is anyone he doesn't want to see at all right now, Murphy undoubtedly ranks first.

"Oh, did you remember some sad thing?" Murphy was not scared by him, still saying in that annoying tone as if he knew everything.

"I said, get lost!"

"Speaking of which, Lily Evans……"

"Shut up!" Snape suddenly turned around, even pulling out his wand, "Don't mention that name!"

Murphy looked at him, and a cold smile rose on the corner of his mouth, "Want to duel? Snivellus?"

"You're courting death!?" Hearing Snivellus, Snape was really furious.

"Want to kill someone?" Murphy smiled, "I'll give you a chance. Come to the Forbidden Forest, wizard duel, life or death, how about it?"

When saying this, Murphy already had the intention to kill.

Previously through Tom, Murphy already knew that Snape very likely had the formula for immortality, but this guy is a master of Occlumency; under normal circumstances, Murphy's operation for dealing with ordinary wizards—Legilimency to steal the information in the other party's brain, and then a Memory Charm to wipe away the traces—simply wouldn't work on him.

Moreover, he is usually in school; wanting to make a move might directly attract Dumbledore.

Therefore, Murphy planned to take advantage of the moment he was hit by a blow here at Harry's, trick him to the outside world, and then directly knock the person unconscious and take him to a safe place; after that, whether it is torture, Veritaserum, or the Soul Seed, he can get what he wants.

And it is the holiday period now; the professors have all gone out, and Snape disappearing for a short time won't attract anyone's attention.

Come on, Snape, come and duel.

You should hate me very much, right?

Previously exposing your scars, then slapping your face in public, plus this repeated stimulation, can you still hold it in?

Snape's eyes were almost spraying fire, and his whole face was distorted.

But just when Murphy thought he was going to agree to the duel in a fit of rage, Snape actually put down his wand, "Get lost, don't come and bother me."

What?

Murphy was stunned.

He can hold it in even with this?

What on earth is wrong with this guy?

Is he a Ninja Turtle?!

Is he autistic?

"Damn," Murphy was truly annoyed by this gloomy guy, "Do you even count as living like this?"

Snape didn't answer.

Alright, not ignoring people, right?

Heart like dead ashes, right?

Walking corpse, right?

Heh, guess what, I'm most unafraid of you gloomy ghosts.

"Incarcerous!"

Suddenly, a circle of ropes appeared out of thin air, binding Snape tightly.

Then Murphy waved his wand, and Snape was floated up, letting Murphy pull him as if he were pulling a balloon; then he instantly turned into black mist, pulled the bound Snape, flew out of the school, and landed in Hogsmeade village after flying in the air for a while.

"What are you doing?! Put me down!" Snape was about to go crazy; being pulled like a balloon, he had never suffered such a great humiliation in his life.

Oh, except for the time he was hung on a tree by James Potter and his underwear was exposed.

Murphy turned a deaf ear and brought Snape all the way to the Three Broomsticks.

Passersby looked sideways, and Snape's old face flushed red, "I'm going to kill you! Murphy Darkholm! I'm going to kill you!"

"Want to kill now?" Murphy sneered, "Heh, it's too late!"

Murphy kicked the tavern door open, "Rosmerta…… cough, Madam."

Murphy glanced at the expression on the tavern owner's face, and his arrogance inexplicably converged a bit, "Do you have strong liquor?"

The latter took a few bottles of liquor that looked high-proof from under the counter and smiled, "Is this some kind of prank? I haven't seen a balloon in Snape's shape before."

"I'm not a balloon!" Snape was so angry he wished he could kill everyone in the tavern right now.

"Please take two glasses, thank you." Murphy said.

"Aren't you with the other professors? They are waiting for you at the table inside."

"No," Murphy pulled Snape, "Today, this guy and I, one of us must lie down."
