Chapter 375: Things to Do
All Hogwarts students and professors will relocate here as a whole.
Auror Office Director Rasim pointed at a building not far from the mansion and said, "Umbrella Special Skills Academy. From now on they will gradually appear before Muggles."
Murphy nodded, "The secrecy measures still need to be solid; although the word has been loosened, as long as the secrecy law exists, it benefits us."
Hogwarts has been involved in such huge events—both the Basilisk and the fog, and the resurrection ceremony—its safety is hard to trust, after all Hogwarts has existed for over a thousand years; who knows what secrets it still hides.
Moreover, Hogwarts seems to be one of the closest convergence points to the Spirit Realm, and because of that its Magic Power level has always been extremely high, and the original Four Founders built the school here for that very reason.
The Holy Mother would therefore choose this place to summon the Black Ship.
But the students only want to learn Magic; what they need is Knowledge. Though learning Magic in an ancient castle is more interesting, studying in reinforced concrete isn't impossible.
For Murphy, practicality is paramount; the secrets within Hogwarts are more suitable for research.
Concrete school buildings just lack that atmosphere, and Cambridge and Oxford aren't famous because their buildings are ancient.
"How are the French doing?"
After surveying the school, Murphy asked about the Wizarding World.
Dumbledore and Grindelwald have been lobbying European countries; naturally the two cannot accept Murphy's mind network, so Murphy sent several Aurors to follow and report back at any time.
"Progress isn't smooth," Rasim said, "Last year their deputy minister died in a bombing; the French have held a grudge ever since. Dumbledore can at most keep them from starting a war against us in the new Union, but it's hard to win them over."
Yes, the Wizards' Union has indeed been reborn as the Impure Earth Reincarnation.
They even once invited Dumbledore to continue serving as president, but after news spread that Dumbledore joined the Wizard Alliance, no one brought it up again.
Nearly a year ago, the major blow the Wizards' Union suffered wiped out almost all hardliners among the international wizard community, leaving only moderates and conservatives.
Their actions are cautious and hesitant, so even though the Wizards' Union has been rebuilt for several months, it still hasn't reached any decision on how to handle the British wizarding community, Murphy, or the Wizard Alliance.
Such a loose organization poses little threat, just a bit annoying.
"However, the Germans' reaction is fairly good," Rasim hurriedly added, seeing Murphy's expression. "Mr. Grindelwald still enjoys very high prestige in Germany; many elders still remember him, and quite a few of them remain in high positions today."
"Some people have already shown willingness to side with us, but pulling the German Ministry of Magic over will take some time. After all, Mr. Grindelwald left there fifty years ago."
Murphy nodded; his complexion indeed brightened considerably.
Earlier, the British Ministry of Magic and the Soviet Union's Alkaim jointly issued a statement establishing the Wizard Alliance; aside from a few vassal states' ministries around the Soviet Union hearing about it, it didn't cause much stir in the Wizard World.
After all, compared with the long‑standing International Wizards' Union, this so‑called Wizard Alliance, with only two main factions, looks like a makeshift troupe.
Although Murphy would like to simply use force to spill blood and unify the realm, first he isn't ready to oppose the world, and second, even if he succeeded, many lingering troubles would remain; therefore, whenever possible, Murphy prefers to act low‑key.
Europe has only a few key countries; once either France or Germany leans toward the Wizard Alliance, persuading the others becomes much easier.
That's certainly not easy, but Dumbledore's joining at least eased relations between the Wizard Alliance and the various Ministries of Magic, giving the Alliance time to develop.
That can be considered a decent outcome.
……
Back at the White Ferret Mountain cottage, Murphy took out a sheet of paper.
He wrote a line on it: "Known facts."
He needed to sort out his thoughts; lately the matters on his desk have multiplied—Wizarding World, Muggle Society, the laboratory, Umbrella, and so on—each with countless decisions awaiting him, and he felt he had to prioritize.
The pencil made a dot on that sentence.
Known facts: the Magic informed‑person effect means that the more people know Magic, the higher the world's Magic Power concentration becomes, eventually leading to the return of deities. And deities are most likely malevolent.
He didn't write that line down; after all, it was just to clarify his thoughts, not necessary to record.
No one has explicitly said deities are malevolent, but from the Holy Mother and Dumbledore's strong attempts to stop Murphy from undermining the secrecy law, they at least believe the deities' return would be extremely detrimental to Wizards.
Next, he wrote again: "Unknown circumstances."
There are still many unknown circumstances, such as what exactly deities are. They are clearly different from the "Omniscient Omnipotent" existence he wishes to become; otherwise they couldn't be restrained.
How strong are they, really? Do they have any weaknesses?
Moreover, if they as a whole are stronger than Wizards, how did the Wizards of old manage to restrain the deities?
The Holy Mother has mentioned the "Oath" many times, and Dumbledore has also mentioned it.
However, Dumbledore only knows it as an ancient magic passed down through wizard bloodlines, similar to a Red‑Heart Loyalty Spell, which confines Magic to the informed, rendering it invisible to the uninformed, thereby narrowing Magic's scope.
But Dumbledore also doesn't know how the Oath is accomplished.
If deities know the Oath harms them, would they foolishly let Wizards pull off such a massive deal?
Perhaps understanding how the Oath was created could reveal a way to deal with the deities.
At that thought, Murphy wrote a third line, "Things to do."
He has many tasks: to counter the deities' invasion, he must boost humanity's overall strength; he also needs to clarify the deities' situation, to ensure his decision won't inadvertently send all of humanity away.
Secondly, he also needs to strengthen his own power.
As the range of Magic‑aware individuals expands, the Magic Power ceiling rises; his long‑dormant strength needs an upgrade, otherwise even if humanity's overall power can repel the deities, a single deity could swat him dead, which would be too comical.
So he wrote three phrases on the paper: "Deity intelligence," "Humanity's overall capability," "Personal power."
Clarifying deity intelligence can be done alongside studying the Oath, so he drew a line after "Deity intelligence" and wrote "Oath," perhaps later he'll check books for similar records.
As for the second, boosting the world's human capacity to face deities, Murphy has some ideas: essentially unify forces, develop technology, and prepare for war.
Even just the "unified force" alone requires him to achieve unification of the Muggle World and the Wizard World, which is an enormously long quest, not doable in a day.
He set that aside for now, his gaze turning to the final phrase: Personal power.
Speaking of that, he actually has a ready‑made plan.
When Huo Er Dan proposed the Spellcasting Path theory, he outlined several ways Wizards can enhance their strength: 1) raising the level of cognition; 2) improving precision of Magic Power control; 3) increasing Knowledge Quantity; 4) boosting Computational Power.
Now, Murphy has a ready method, already verified by Lukas, that can augment his own Computational Power.
Mechanical Ascension!
The central data center of the Soviet Union's National Science City should be completed by now, right?
⟨Long wait, my brain's been drained these two days. This chapter was posted first and edited later. Tomorrow's… will be updated later, but I've roughly outlined it. If nothing goes awry, this volume should have some explosive plot. I've already thought of several good ideas. Tomorrow I'll keep polishing, smooth the storyline; don't expect it at eight tomorrow, it'll probably be later. ⟩
⟨Also, the title's changed: 'Hogwarts: From Reselling White Fresh to Becoming a God', it's already in post‑production, so I'll run a test. ⟩
