Chapter 6: Do you want to witness a miracle?
Start with potions, combine production and research, establish a potion research institute, and then recruit Muggle scientists to help him study magic.
This is Murphy's general idea.
Compared to things like spells that are too illusory, to the point where Muggles have no corresponding technical accumulation, potions are much more traceable and can better leverage the advantages of Muggle science.
He has completed the preliminary research on "making Essence of Dittany by non-magical means," and it is most appropriate to use it as a starting point.
After making up his mind, Murphy Apparated to Charing Cross Road, and then let a taxi take him to the Medicines Safety Commission station.
To sell medicine in the Muggle world, you need to pass the approval and permission of the Medicines Safety Commission. Murphy knows nothing about this and plans to consult first.
However, arriving at the commission station, Murphy was shocked by the low efficiency of the British. There was already a long queue in front of the consultation window, but the clerk was still drinking coffee, calling numbers at an average speed of one person every fifteen minutes, unhurriedly.
Murphy hesitated for a moment, but finally decided to sit down and wait. He couldn't just use magic on Muggles in public just because he didn't want to queue.
Without a mobile phone, Murphy was very bored. He looked around and found a row of magazine racks thoughtfully placed next to the waiting area. He pulled out a magazine and flipped through it casually, but was soon attracted by a report.
"Patrick Duncan—Ace Pharmaceutical Sales Expert."
In the center was a photo of a slightly bald, thin man, wearing a black turtleneck sweater in the style of Steve Jobs, looking at the camera with deep eyes.
The article used hundreds of words to describe how Patrick Duncan went from a small salesperson in a pharmaceutical company to the premier pharmaceutical sales expert in London.
The article mentioned several of his sales cases. This person was very good at grasping product characteristics and could find the corresponding optimal promotion plan, making great contributions to the pharmaceutical company he worked for.
Murphy scanned the article in a few glances and was immediately excited.
It's this person!
He is the guy who needs to be clear about pharmaceutical sales.
Murphy tore off that page from the magazine directly.
Leaving the consultation office, he found a telephone booth, looked up the pharmaceutical company Patrick worked for in the phone book in the public telephone booth, and dialed a call directly.
"Hello, Blue Mountain Pharmaceuticals."
"Hello, may I ask if Patrick Duncan is an employee of your company?"
"Yes, what can I do for you?"
"I want to talk to him."
"Sorry, Mr. Patrick is very busy. If you have any business, you can make an appointment first, and I will arrange a time for you here."
"Make an appointment now, when can I see him?"
"Please wait a moment... Sorry sir, Mr. Patrick has a meeting this afternoon and is going to France tomorrow for a project. If you want to see him, you might have to wait until he comes back."
"I can't wait that long, tell him I have a product that can make his net worth increase tenfold, he absolutely cannot miss it!"
The other side was silent for a while, then asked: "Sorry sir, are you from a headhunting company?"
Murphy noticed that the other party's tone seemed much colder. "Are you from Black Mountain Pharmaceuticals, trying to poach Mr. Patrick?"
"Uh..."
"Beep beep beep..." The phone was hung up.
Damn it!
A small receptionist's vigilance was actually so strong.
It seems that this Blue Mountain company values Patrick very much.
However, this just shows that this person indeed has talent.
He dialed a call again.
"Hello, Blue Mountain Pharmaceuticals."
"Hello, I am David Stik from Jelida Pharmaceuticals." Murphy lied directly.
"Hello, Mr. Stik, what can I do for you?"
"Our company previously owed your company a sum of money, and the boss asked me to go to your company to check the accounts and settle the payment by the way. May I ask where your company's address is?"
The receptionist was a bit puzzled, it sounded like an old customer, and they didn't know the address?
However, they were here to pay money, so naturally, there was no reason to refuse. "891 Greenford Road..."
"Okay, thank you very much."
Hanging up the phone, Murphy took a taxi and arrived at Blue Mountain Pharmaceuticals.
As a wizard, traveling by taxi felt inexplicably funny.
However, he wasn't very familiar with London, only knowing an address, which wasn't enough for him to find the place accurately.
Secondly, he didn't like riding a broom to fly—especially after breaking his leg using an old broom at home during the summer vacation of his fourth year, he had always been worried about the safety of brooms.
Without researching flight magic and intelligent navigation, let's just make do with it for now.
Arriving at the front desk, Murphy glanced at the girl who answered the phone. The other party also noticed him. "Hello sir, what can I do for you?"
"I'm looking for Patrick Duncan."
The receptionist looked him up and down vigilantly, a bit unsure if he was the person who tried to poach the wall on the phone.
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, your boss asked me to come and find him. Where is he?"
"Sorry sir, Mr. Patrick is not in the company right now."
"Doesn't he have a meeting this afternoon?"
The receptionist stared at him. "How do you know Mr. Patrick has a meeting this afternoon?"
"Alright, you win." Murphy smiled. This receptionist sister was really quite vigilant. It seemed that it would be very difficult to muddle through with rhetoric.
"Actually, I just wanted to meet you, beautiful lady. Sorry for using such a lame way to get your attention. To express my apology, please accept my gift."
Saying that, Murphy took out his wand from his pocket. "Legilimens!"
Patrick was actually not in the company, but in another pharmaceutical factory meeting with two employees from the Medicines Safety Commission.
"Thank you for telling me, Miss Pani."
While using Legilimency, he also learned the other party's name by the way.
"I, what did you do to me..." Pani was a bit dazed.
"Don't worry, I just looked at a bit of your memory and didn't peek too much. However, this short and interesting meeting is coming to an end, and I'm afraid you can't remember this. Obliviate!"
More than half an hour later, Murphy rushed to that factory, but learned that Patrick had finished accompanying the inspection and returned to his office.
Damn it!
Fortunately, there was no need to take a taxi this time.
Murphy directly Apparated back to Blue Mountain Company.
Glancing at Miss Pani at the front desk, Murphy thought about whether to come for another Legilimency, but at this moment, he caught a glimpse of a figure getting on the elevator.
Finally caught you.
Using the Disillusionment Charm to get rid of Miss Pani's sight, Murphy squeezed into the elevator at the last moment before the door closed, following Patrick upstairs.
Then, one step ahead of the other party, he walked into his office, sat on the sofa for guests, and lifted the Disillusionment Charm.
As soon as Patrick entered the door, he saw Murphy sitting on the sofa, looking like he had been waiting for him until he was bored to death.
"Who are you?" Patrick asked suspiciously. Why did a guest visit, but the assistant didn't notify him?
"Patrick?" Murphy took out a bottle of Essence of Dittany and placed it on the table. "Do you want to witness a miracle?"
