Chapter 74
The second volume is over, let's summarize as usual.
The length of this volume is okay, basically it is still a dual-line structure, and overall I am still satisfied.
It's just that there are some small problems in the rhythm, such as Murphy discovering the Auror investigation for the second time and the pressure from Muggle society. Originally, I planned them as two small crises to create a feeling of step-by-step pressure. But it was too repetitive and felt formulaic, which might cause aesthetic fatigue for everyone, and I didn't want to write it myself, so I merged them.
Because of this merger, part of the order in my plot changed, and the small subplot of the agent was inserted a bit abruptly and eased the overall tension.
However, because it hasn't entered the climax of the confrontation yet, the impact is not big.
Regarding the plot.
The path the protagonist wants to take is contrary to the overall thinking of wizards. He is a person who wants to break the order of the wizarding world, so standing on the opposite side of the Aurors is an inevitable event.
At the same time, Aurors are different from the so-called pure-blood nobles like Malfoy. They act according to the justice in their hearts, and as Murphy's enemies, they are actually respectable.
The confrontation between Murphy and the Aurors can be seen as a conflict of ideas, so I want to shape the Aurors to be more positive. From their perspective, Murphy is indeed a black wizard who stops at nothing.
Scrimgeour and Kingsley actually have some deviations in personality in my book compared to the original work, but firstly, there are not many characters with names, and there are too few to choose from. Secondly, it can be seen as part of the difference caused by the different timeline from the original work.
But overall, I think I haven't deviated from the essential characteristics of these two characters.
Scrimgeour is serious and rigid, but in the original work, he died to protect Harry's secret. He is a person who is not afraid of sacrifice and power, worthy of the name of Auror.
I actually always like this character. The complexity of his personality makes me feel more charming than ordinary members of the Order of the Phoenix.
In this volume, in a situation where he had no choice, he stepped forward and took responsibility for his subordinates, which can be regarded as a small tribute to his sacrificial spirit in the original work.
Kingsley is more gentle and steady in the original work, a character with more urbanity who can give people a sense of calmness, but he is younger than he was then. He already has power and talent, but he hasn't yet practiced enough patience and deeper wisdom. The protagonist helped him make up for this lesson.
In the future, he will inevitably be a stronger opponent on Murphy's path forward.
The protagonist is growing, and the enemies are not immutable.
Although Murphy is the protagonist, for the same thing, the meaning is different for different people.
I hope I can write a story where characters act according to their own will and beliefs, rather than the so-called cool text where everyone is a tool person regardless of enemy or friend. Maybe I'm not a teenager anymore, I can't feel that kind of coolness anymore...
Finally, thank you to all the book friends for their votes and comments, and thank you to book friends 1652592300862124032, 20170809165400702, 20230423062327784, Nightfall First Arrival, East Wind Awakens Hero's Dream, and everyone for their rewards.
I originally wanted to get the list of monthly tickets and recommendations to thank them, but after searching for a long time, I couldn't find where to export in batches, so I had to give up. In short, thank you very much for everyone's support.
In the next volume, I plan to open some new maps and make some preparations. Maybe the writing method will be a bit different from these two volumes, but please follow it patiently. I will do my best to provide everyone with a good-looking story.
In addition, are there any questions about the heroine... um, generally there are none, but the plots that everyone loves to see might exist.
Thank you everyone.
