Chapter 1137: Grandstanding!!
Noon.
When Darren was eating at the Slytherin table, Harry and the others came over, just as Darren had expected.
They wanted to ask what exactly happened between him and Snape last night. Because Snape had said in the morning that Darren's attitude in his office last night was also very poor.
To Darren, this was an unbelievable thing.
After all, from his first year until now, Darren had always insisted that Snape was a good person; even when facing Voldemort, Darren had never said a single bad word about Snape.
To suddenly become like this, had Snape done something excessive? Darren noticed Snape watching him the moment Harry came over. He knew Snape wanted to see his acting skills; this was the homework Snape had left him last night.
Darren feigned hesitation, and only then did he tell a somewhat clumsy lie.
"It's nothing, yesterday, yesterday... last night, Professor Snape and I had some, some arguments over some things, and I lost my temper..."
Snape looked at him helplessly.
Because the lie Darren told, in his view, was full of holes.
But to his surprise, Harry and the others actually believed it.
Snape was suddenly a bit bewildered.
Was Harry and the others' intelligence too low, or was this just how lying was supposed to be done?
In the afternoon, there was Care of Magical Creatures class.
Professor Grubbly-Plank still liked Darren very much.
She gave Darren a Bowtruckle, letting him come over to help feed it when he was free.
However, Harry and the others didn't like Professor Grubbly-Plank because she wouldn't tell them where Hagrid had gone.
And Grubbly-Plank was suspected of trying to curry favor with Darren. This was what Harry and Ron had said in secret.
The two of them believed Professor Grubbly-Plank knew Darren was very popular, so she was deliberately using the Bowtruckle to please him.
"Darren likes that Bowtruckle very much, that's her goal!"
Ron whispered to Harry.
Darren pretended not to hear what they were saying. He was there taking care of his Bowtruckle, pretending to like it especially much.
To save Harry from making him decide whether he liked Hagrid or Grubbly-Plank more later on.
Clearly, he felt Hagrid was fine as a friend, but as a professor, he felt he was lacking too much.
However, this kind of evaluation obviously wouldn't make children like Harry happy, so he was exceptionally careful not to draw attention to himself on this issue.
And while he was concentrating on listening to Professor Grubbly-Plank's lecture, he noticed Malfoy quietly approaching Harry.
He hardly needed to think; Malfoy was definitely going to mock Harry. This guy was truly bored out of his mind.
However, Harry was indeed quite affected by Malfoy. Darren didn't hear what they said.
But Harry was scratched by the Bowtruckle.
He rushed out with blood all over his hand when the bell rang for the end of class.
Darren put on a worried face, returned the Bowtruckle to Professor Grubbly-Plank, and then also headed toward the castle.
When he finally caught up with Harry, he happened to see Luna coming out of Sprout's Herbology class, the greenhouse.
Coming out with her were Ginny and the others. Luna suddenly rushed in front of him.
She shouted loudly: "Darren, I believe what you and Harry said, you two definitely saw You-Know-Who return, the person on that projection was You-Know-Who!"
"Thank you..."
Darren showed a grateful expression. However, Hermione was not grateful at all.
She pursed her lips and said: "She is grandstanding here, because she has already joined the Order of the Phoenix, she must have believed long ago that You-Know-Who has returned!"
"Don't be like that, Hermione... Luna saved my life, can you give her some respect because of that?
I admit, she is different from other girls, she is strange, and people say she is loony, but, she is a very good person!"
【Ding, Saint Father Value +20】
【Ding, Saint Father Value +40】
【Ding, Saint Father Value +30】
【Ding...】 Darren accepted the Saint Father Value.
Apparently, speaking well of Luna didn't earn much Saint Father Value.
Because many people felt Luna was a strange girl. However, he still looked at Hermione persistently.
Hermione was a little unhappy, but she still nodded.
"Fine, although I just can't bring myself to like her, I will be nicer to her, if she doesn't argue with me!"
Hermione muttered.
Darren smiled at her. She lowered her head, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Of course, besides Luna supporting them, there was also Ernie, the boy who had suspected Darren was the Heir of Slytherin in their second year.
He also shouted loudly: "Darren, Harry, I support you too, it's not just that weirdo Luna who will support you!"
Darren naturally expressed his thanks.
But his happiness vanished after entering Sprout's greenhouse.
Because this time, Professor Sprout made them handle dragon dung. A full hour-and-a-half class!
Darren could hardly believe it; he just followed everyone else, handling this fertilizer that Professor Sprout loved so much in the stuffy classroom.
When he walked out of the greenhouse, the only thought he had left was to hurry back and take a bath.
But as they were parting, Professor Sprout assigned them a large amount of homework again.
And a long essay.
In order to continue squeezing the energy out of his quill, Darren didn't even appear at dinner in the Great Hall; he urged the quill to hurry up and write his homework.
But when he carried his schoolbag to Snape's office for detention, he discovered there was still a huge pile of homework to write.
Snape always made him do homework in the office. The Darren of the past thought this was a good habit. But the current Darren only felt tired.
He was already exhausted from a full day of classes every day.
The only joy was squeezing the quill to write his homework for him.
Now, it was fine, he still had to write homework himself, and write so much of it.
He suspected that if he wrote this homework himself, he might need to write until the early hours of tomorrow.
He thought he could come back and let the quill write the homework after finishing detention with Snape; at most, he would just sleep late.
He could read anime books while directing the quill to write homework.
And the only thing he had to do was get Snape to agree to let him write homework after leaving his office.
This was actually not difficult.
Because Darren thought of a good idea in minutes.
An idea that could let Snape let him go back early every day. Acting.
Not bad.
He planned to tell Snape to let Snape and Dumbledore study it.
What would happen in the scene of their falling out, as long as he acted out those scenes every night.
This way, Snape shouldn't spend all day trying to find ways to make him practice acting. I don't know what they were thinking, making a little Saint Father learn acting! ===== CHAPTER 1139 =====
