Chapter 116

~5 min read 928 words

"Fred and George are often deducted points by Snape, and aren't they still living just fine?

By the way, can I go to Hagrid's hut with you guys?"

"No problem, if you'd like."

3:05 PM.

They stood outside Hagrid's hut.

"Oh, kids, come on in!"

Hagrid hurriedly greeted Darren and the other two.

Hagrid's wooden hut had only one room.

Hams and pheasants hung from the ceiling.

In the corner was a large bed.

Very large.

On it was a quilt made of patchwork rags.

A large dog named Fang was tied by the door.

"Come on, have some tea!"

Hagrid took out three cups and poured a cup for each of them.

Darren took a careful sip.

There was no strange taste, but it didn't suit his palate either.

So he put it back down.

Hagrid also took out several rock cakes and placed them on the table.

Although most people in fanfiction would refuse this stuff, Darren was still curious and tried one.

It was very hard, a bit like the teething biscuits he bought before he transmigrated.

Back then, he wouldn't eat to lose weight, and when he was really hungry, he would gnaw on a teething biscuit for a while.

Rock cakes were about the same as those biscuits.

However, the taste actually seemed quite good.

He could take some back as a midnight snack; if he was really hungry at night, he could gnaw on them.

Harry and Ron saw Darren's reaction and thought the rock cakes tasted good.

As a result, the cakes almost broke their teeth.

In order to be polite,

the two of them could only pretend to love them while holding the cakes in their hands, telling Hagrid about what had happened at school these past few days.

They focused on Snape's partiality.

"Oh, Professor Snape, he doesn't really like anyone."

Hagrid said comfortingly.

Harry shook his head and said hesitantly:

"I really feel like he hates me, but I don't understand why?"

"Nonsense, why would he hate you? You and Darren are twins; does he hate Darren?"

Hagrid waved his hand, looking as if he didn't believe what he was saying.

But his eyes were a bit evasive.

He even intentionally changed the subject.

He looked at Darren and asked with some concern: "Darren, are you doing well in Slytherin House?"

Darren nodded.

He thought Slytherin was fantastic.

He could have a dormitory all to himself, could farm quite a few missions, and could even farm some Saint Father points.

It was his best choice.

However, Hagrid, Harry, and Ron didn't believe it at all.

They thought Darren was reporting the good news but not the bad.

What's more, Darren was too kind; even if he were having a hard time, he wouldn't want them to worry.

Harry sighed.

While listening to Hagrid carefully ask about the situation in Slytherin House, he curiously looked around.

He suddenly discovered a clipping from a newspaper pressed under Hagrid's teapot.

It read: Latest Report on the Gringotts Break-in.

Regarding the illegal break-in at Gringotts on July 31st…

Harry remembered what Ron had told him on the train about Gringotts being robbed; this was very likely the same incident.

"Ah, Hagrid, we might have been there the day Gringotts was broken into!"

"…"

Harry suspected that the Gringotts that was broken into was the very one he and Hagrid had entered.

Vault 713.

Hagrid avoided his gaze.

Under Harry's relentless questioning,

they were finally coaxed and persuaded out by Hagrid.

…

6:00 PM.

Darren carried a large pile of rock cakes and walked toward Slytherin House.

He didn't see a single Slytherin student on the way.

Darren suspected that those people were waiting for him in the Slytherin common room.

Sure enough, after pushing open the door to the common room, Darren saw everyone from Slytherin House.

Whether they had finished their homework or not, they were all sitting there in silence.

Upon discovering Darren entering, everyone's gaze was fixed squarely on him.

"Pfft, is that all Harry Potter gives you?"

Malfoy was the first to break the silence.

He said mockingly, his face full of schadenfreude.

Darren noticed several older students glare at Malfoy, probably cursing this guy under their breath for having no sense of the atmosphere.

"Hagrid gave these to me!"

Darren said, sounding a bit unhappy, as if he hadn't noticed the atmosphere here at all, hearing Malfoy's sarcasm.

However, in the blink of an eye, he became happy again.

Clearly, he didn't mind these gifts at all.

"Alright, Potter, put your things in the dormitory and then come out. I think you should know that you violated Slytherin's rules today!"

Becky looked at Darren and said in a cold tone.

She was tapping her wand in her hand.

The expression on her face was exceptionally cold and aloof.

Darren didn't try to cozy up to her; he just pursed his lips and then returned to his dormitory in silence.

As soon as he entered the dormitory, he covered his mouth and laughed.

It's starting, it's starting, it's time for him to show off his Saint Father persona again.

Ahem.

Be steady.

Be careful not to be discovered!

Darren warned himself.

Then he resumed his previous silence and stepped out of the dormitory one step at a time.

"Very well, Frank, you go and stand guard outside the common room.

If Professor Snape comes in, you can knock lightly on the door to warn us; after warning us, you can leave early."

"This… yes!" ===== CHAPTER 118 =====
