Chapter 13

~6 min read 1,152 words

Paqi wiped away tears, screaming in a moved state.

Griphook outside the door was even more silent.

He shouldn't be here; perhaps he should be under the cart.

Suffer?

Kind?

Griphook clearly knew both of these words, so why did it feel so disgusting hearing them come out of their mouths?

Even though the person and the elf inside were speaking in a way that moved heaven and earth, Griphook was not moved at all; he even wanted to laugh.

However, he held it in.

"Are you done? The cart is almost out of time!"

Griphook urged.

The urge to vomit was already filling his mind; if these two didn't finish soon, he was afraid he would go in and drag them out himself.

He hoped that in his career, he would never hear the words "poor" and "kind" again.

For some reason, he had suddenly become allergic to these two words.

Darren followed Paqi’s suggestion and withdrew ten thousand Jin Jin Jin Jialong, thirty thousand silver Sickles, and some bronze Knuts from Gringotts.

He also spent one Jin Jin Jin Jialong at Gringotts to buy a wallet enchanted with permanent space magic.

Only then, under Griphook’s malicious gaze, did he drag Paqi—who was still sighing about how Young Master Darren knew how to live frugally—out of Gringotts.

Darren practically covered his face as he fled Gringotts.

Thinking of the astonished looks many people in Gringotts had cast at him just now, Darren felt like he wanted to leave this planet.

He clearly wanted a good reputation, but watching Paqi spare no effort in introducing his kindness to everyone, he was so embarrassed he almost cried out.

He must have raised Paqi’s favorability too high, causing Paqi to become a complete Potter-fanatic.

"Alright Paqi, we need to go buy a wand!"

Darren interrupted Paqi, who seemed about to proclaim his heroic deeds to another passerby.

"Very well, Young Master Darren!"

Paqi happily carried Darren’s wallet and caught up with Darren’s pace.

"Paqi is very happy to serve Young Master Darren!"

"K-know, I know."

Ollivanders Wand Shop.

Founded in 382 BC.

It is the only wand shop in Diagon Alley.

This shop is quite famous in Europe.

It is also a place that every protagonist in fan fiction must visit.

"Good afternoon."

A soft voice said.

Darren looked up and saw an old man standing in front of him.

He had a pair of silvery-white eyes.

The look in his eyes as he watched Darren seemed to be sparkling.

"Hello!" Darren responded politely.

"Oh, when Dumbledore told me that Harry Potter had a younger brother, I knew you would appear here."

Ollivander carefully examined Darren’s face and continued in a voice filled with nostalgia:

"Your hair and eyes are almost exactly like your mother’s, but your mouth shape is like your father’s; his smile was always so handsome.

Everything is just like yesterday... I am too old, I always like to reminisce about the past.

Child, no one has ever listened to my rambling with as much curiosity as you; they always think I’m a bit crazy."

Ollivander sighed softly.

Darren blinked "innocently" and grinned: "I don't think you're crazy; I really like listening to you talk about these things."

Because he could pad another chapter.

Ollivander shook his head.

"Your mother chose a ten-and-a-quarter-inch willow wand, a good helper for casting magic.

Your father chose an eleven-inch mahogany wand, the best choice for Transfiguration.

Of course, I say they chose the wand, but in reality, the wand chooses the wizard; here, you will find the wand that belongs to you..."

Ollivander stopped, his gaze shifting to Paqi, who was waiting behind Darren.

"You are... I remember now, you are Fleamont’s house-elf Paqi; are you here for the dividends?"

Dividends?

What dividends?

"The old master bought ten percent of the shares in Ollivanders Wand Shop."

Huh?

Darren looked at Paqi in shock.

No way?

That awesome?

"It was Young Master Darren’s grandfather Fleamont who had Paqi buy them; later, the old master didn't know where he put the shares, so Paqi will go back and look for them."

Paqi tapped his head and said.

He was truly very old; if not for the sudden news of the young master, he might have chosen to die this year.

Although he couldn't let his master cut off his head and hang it on the wall, dying by his master’s side was also very good.

But now the young master needed him, so he had to live, live until the young master no longer needed him.

Paqi thought silently.

He had no idea that Darren was looking at him as if he were looking at an ancestor.

Damn!

How much money did Harry miss out on in the original book?

And this old schemer Ollivander—if he hadn't brought Paqi over, this guy wouldn't have mentioned it at all.

Although Ollivander might not have been sure if the Potter family had transferred the shares, you could at least ask, right?

He never mentioned it until he died in the original book; he was truly shameless.

No wonder this old guy knew Lily and James so well; they were his shareholders, how could he not know them?

He had thought this old guy really had a good memory and could remember every person who bought a wand, even if they didn't give their name.

Though it’s also possible Ollivander really did record the wands of every famous person.

Of course, as a child who knew nothing, he naturally couldn't think of this.

And he couldn't proactively mention money to Ollivander, as it would easily break his persona.

So he thought for a moment and said to Paqi with an "innocent" expression:

"Paqi, that’s great! Since we have shares in Mr. Ollivander’s wand shop, you don't have to go out and earn money anymore; you can stay and accompany me and my brother!"

"Young Master Darren, you are truly too lovely and kind, but Paqi cannot agree to your request.

Because for the shares of Ollivanders Wand Shop, even if they are found, Paqi still needs to take them to the Ministry of Magic to register.

Then reconcile the accounts here with Mr. Ollivander, because the Potter family hasn't come here to collect dividends for many years."

Paqi looked at Darren with regret; his poor little master must like Paqi too much—perhaps Paqi should find a female elf to reproduce?

Then his children could accompany the young master, and the young master’s children!

PS: The voting is over; Slytherin had too many votes, so it’s Slytherin. But readers who like other houses don't need to worry about the story collapsing.

Think about it: Slytherin usually has classes with Gryffindor.

In class, Snape deducts twenty points because Harry helped Neville meddle, and Slytherin gains twenty points because Darren helped Neville out of kindness—that scene, just thinking about it is interesting.
