Chapter 148: I Want to See Darren!!

~6 min read 1,044 words

Harry felt that the most terrifying scene of his life was already unfolding before him.

That was Snape looking at him with a smile.

Yes, a smile.

Snape was smiling at him; regardless of whether it was a good smile or not, he was smiling.

He deeply suspected that Snape might be plotting something.

“Follow me!”

Snape turned around.

He walked with long strides in front, and Harry and Ron hardly dared to look at his robes.

They dragged their luggage, looking honestly at the ground, like shrunken groundhogs.

They followed Snape up the steps, into the torch-lit, empty, and echoing entrance hall.

The scent of food drifted from the Great Hall, but the voices were very quiet; Harry thought it might be because they were quite far away.

Snape didn’t let them enter the Great Hall, but instead led them down the stone stairs into the dark and damp corridors of the basement.

Then, Snape opened the office in the corridor.

“Get in!”

Snape pointed inside.

Harry and Ron walked in, shivering.

Their faces were filled with fear and dread.

They could even see the jars in Snape’s office, filled with all sorts of disgusting things.

They didn’t even want to know the names of these things.

“Ah, the famous Harry Potter, he has become famous once again.”

Making the front page of the *Daily Prophet*, how wonderful.

I remember the last time you, Harry Potter, made the front page was at Lockhart’s book signing, right?

You left your brother aside, took a photo with a celebrity yourself, happily promoted his books, your fame.

You were both winners.

Of course, that time you were on it with someone else, and our famous Harry Potter was clearly very dissatisfied, so he created a headline for himself, Snape said incessantly.

Harry couldn’t help but interrupt him.

“I didn’t… the platform wouldn’t let us in…”

“Yes, yes, so you made a big move and flew to school, not enough excitement, eh?”

Harry interrupted him again.

“I said, I didn’t want to show off, I couldn’t get on the train, I had no choice…”

“No choice? Ha, so the great Savior couldn’t use his owl to send a letter to the school.

Nor could he send a letter to his brother, nor could he return to the Burrow and wait for the Weasley family to solve it…”

Snape suddenly looked at Ron and whispered, “I remember Arthur works in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts Office, right?

But his son… tsk tsk tsk!”

Harry and Ron’s faces changed at the same time.

Their faces turned pale.

Snape looked at their expressions, feeling a bit more comfortable inside.

Then he smiled again and told them a piece of bad news.

“The Savior might not know yet, right? Just half an hour ago, his brother had a magical outburst.

Nearly out of control, covered in blood, and sent to the hospital wing… all because of someone’s heroic feat!”

“What are you talking about!”

“You’re lying, aren’t you?”

Harry and Ron looked up, even more shocked and terrified.

How could that be?

They were fine this morning; Darren was even taken away by Mr. Nicolas Flamel to discuss the heir matter, how could something happen by nightfall?

“Ha, then I wouldn’t know… after all, he is the brother of the famous Harry Potter, not anyone of mine…”

“Please, someone tell me where my brother is? As long as you tell me, I’ll do anything!”

Snape mimicked.

Then he mocked Harry: “I think the famous Harry Potter must be wondering, how could he have such a troublesome brother?

Once again blocking the news of him showing off, now he can’t be worshipped and welcomed by the whole school.”

“I didn’t think that! Tell me, how is Darren now?”

Harry looked at Snape angrily.

If he weren’t afraid of Snape, he would have wanted to grab Snape’s collar and force him to say how Darren was.

“How is he? The poor Potions professor is not a doctor, nor can he heal, he can only watch a big shot get angry at him here…”

“I want to see Darren…”

“Quiet!”

Snape roared.

He looked into Harry’s eyes and said: “When I was checking the garden just now, I found that a precious Whomping Willow had suffered great damage…”

“That Whomping Willow caused us more damage!”

Ron couldn’t help but shout.

“Shut up!”

Snape roared again.

“It’s a pity I am not your Head of House, so I cannot make the decision to expel you.

But I can go and find the person who can make this pleasant decision!”

Snape leaned over and smiled insidiously.

“You wait here!”

Harry and Ron were trembling with fear.

They didn’t know what would happen if they were expelled.

Harry even thought pessimistically that Darren might die because of his magical outburst.

And he would be kicked out of school, and the portraits of the Potter ancestors would be ashamed of him, forbidding him from returning to the wizarding world…

He would eventually have to slink back to the Dursleys.

He would lose everything he had now and be back to how he was before.

No one would like him anymore.

The Dursleys would ask him, where is Darren?

And then they would know that Darren and his mom and dad were sleeping together in the wizarding world.

No, no, no.

He couldn’t even imagine the rest.

Because when he thought that Darren might die because of him, he was already in tears.

How could he lose Darren?

They were the best twin brothers, and Darren was the best, most perfect brother.

How could he die while Harry was still learning how to be a perfect brother?

“Potter, I don’t think I have ever physically punished you. Don’t act as if your poor Potions professor almost killed you!”

Snape’s cold voice came over.

Harry looked up quickly and noticed Professor McGonagall behind Snape.

“Professor… Darren, is Darren okay?”

“I’m glad you still remember him, Potter, otherwise I would blush for my student…

He is still alive, Severus’s potion suppressed his injuries well.

…Don’t make that face, Severus is the best Potions Master.

Of course, Darren is a future Potions Master, cough, cough, now let me talk about your matter!”
