Chapter 34
"Give up!"
Her gaze was heavy.
She was not worthy of accepting such selfless love.
A Slytherin senior would never accept a confession from a Muggle-born wizard!
Even if it moved her.
But this was a display of a clear mind.
Darren naturally saw her warning, as well as her kindness and apology.
But... he had no idea what she was talking about!
What she said to him in the hospital wing...
What did she say?
When did she say it?
How was he supposed to answer that?
Not knowing the question, he didn't dare to speak randomly.
Darren could only guiltily look away from Becky's face, planning to find a chance to ask her about it later.
The boy's expression was slightly guilty.
When she asked him, he didn't even dare to meet her eyes.
Clearly, her words hadn't convinced him.
Or rather, his liking for her had already surpassed love.
Then again, if it were merely liking, how could he have used his life to block harm for her?
But it really wouldn't work.
His Muggle-born status, the ideals he proclaimed in public, the age gap between them.
Even if he were a pure-blood, Becky understood that there was no possibility between them.
Let alone that he was just a little Muggle-born wizard.
Since it was impossible, she shouldn't give him any hope from the start!
"I'll only say this to you once. From now on, try to stay away from me, whether you agree or not!"
Becky closed her eyes and said, somewhat cruelly.
After speaking, she turned and left, not even daring to look into the boy's eyes.
Those bright green eyes would probably be filled with tears, right?
It was her fault.
She should have noticed sooner.
Darren was bewildered.
Wasn't everything fine just a moment ago?
She had even given him medicine.
Why did she suddenly tell him to stop following her?
Could it be that this young lady's tsundere illness had flared up again?
Or was it because he hadn't submitted to her?
Oh my, Slytherin seniors are so troublesome!
Darren shook his head, feeling somewhat helpless.
If he stayed too far away from this Slytherin senior, he worried he wouldn't be able to farm quests.
But thinking about the system's capabilities, he chose to trust it.
After all, everyone was at Hogwarts; it shouldn't be too far. Farming a quest is just a small matter.
Easy peasy.
If she wants him to follow less, then he'll follow less. This senior had a moody temper anyway; he didn't really want to be too close either!
Darren stretched lazily in the carriage, not caring at all.
Just as he was about to get up to find Harry, he heard the train's loudspeaker:
"Attention students, the train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes."
"Please change into your robes and leave your luggage on the train; we will have it delivered to the school for you."
Uh.
How did they arrive so quickly?
He felt the time on the train had been quite short.
Everyone complained that the Hogwarts train was "super slow," so why did he feel like he had arrived without noticing?
Darren scratched his hair helplessly.
He had originally intended to talk to Harry and study exactly what made the protagonist different from others.
As it turned out, he would really have to wait until they were at Hogwarts to meet.
However, Harry probably didn't know his name yet.
Not just Harry, even Becky, Malfoy, and the others didn't know Darren's name.
To create a sense of shock for Harry, Darren had deliberately not introduced himself to anyone else.
This was really...
Hiding his identity so well that even his own people didn't know who he was. ===== CHAPTER 84 =====
The train stopped.
It was a dark and small platform.
All students had to disembark here.
Darren looked around the platform, then saw a lamp swinging above his head.
Then, a tall figure stood beside him.
He had to tilt his head back to see the person's face.
This was an extremely tall man, his beard a tangled mess, covering most of his face.
The hair behind his head was also bushy and unkempt, looking somewhat fierce.
Hagrid!
Darren curiously touched Hagrid's clothes; how much fabric would such a massive body require!
"First-years! First-years over here!"
Hagrid didn't feel Darren's touch at all.
He was craning his neck, looking at the crowd, and said with a smile: "Harry, over here, how are you?"
It was packed with people here; almost no one noticed Hagrid's voice.
Only Darren heard it.
Thinking that pretending not to hear would definitely not fit his persona.
So, he hurriedly stood on tiptoe and looked in the direction of Hagrid's voice.
While grabbing onto Hagrid's clothes to prevent the surging crowd from pushing him aside.
"Harry? Is that my brother? Where is he? Where is he? Everyone, slow down, don't squeeze my brother!"
[Ding, Saintly Father points +30]
Hagrid was startled and finally noticed Darren, who was clinging to his clothes.
He knew Harry had a younger brother, but he never expected to meet him under these circumstances.
This was a cute little fellow.
Even Hagrid, who thought Harry was the best, had to admit that this child was beautiful.
"You're Darren, right? Glad to see you, but I'm afraid Harry can't look after you right now; he's already walked ahead, so you'd better hurry too!"
He gently patted Darren's arm.
Darren was almost sent flying by the pat. ===== CHAPTER 85 =====
He hurriedly grabbed his clothes to steady himself.
"Alright, I just wanted to see my brother so much. Thank you for your help."
Darren nodded.
Of course he knew Harry had walked far away; he was just doing it to farm Saintly Father points from this giant.
"You're welcome, little one!"
Hagrid's mouth, buried in his thick beard, broke into a wide smile.
He thought the little fellow in front of him was excellent; he must be a Gryffindor lad!
"Go on, hurry!"
"First-years, pay attention! Watch your step!"
Hagrid called out, turning back.
He led everyone along a muddy path.
Many people tripped because of it.
Darren cleverly walked by Hagrid's side, being pulled along by him from time to time, and arrived steadily at the edge of the Black Black Black Lake.
This was a black Black Black Lake.
On the opposite shore, the castle stood on cliffs that reached into the clouds.
Looking at the castle from afar, one could see the starry sky shimmering within it.
"Hurry up, don't dawdle! Get on the boats, no more than four to a boat!"
Hagrid shouted loudly.
All the students stumbled into the small boats.
Darren had originally intended to just follow someone onto a boat.
Who knew that just by standing there, he felt someone pushing him forward, and he ended up directly on an empty boat.
Darren looked over in confusion after boarding.
It was a very cute little girl.
Golden hair, green eyes like his, a mole under her eye, and an expression that was very cold and aloof.
Noticing Darren looking over, she turned her head without a word.
Isn't this the girl who was in the senior's carriage earlier?
Looking at these features, Darren suspected in his heart that she was the Slytherin "Sister Ka," Cassandra Vole!
By the way, didn't the system say it gave him 50 favorability with Cassandra? How come it felt completely useless?
And he was also wearing the title "Little Loli Nemesis," which gave him +30 favorability with all girls under sixteen. Logically, he should have 80 favorability.
Yet, she didn't pay him any mind at all.
Was the system messing with him?
Darren scratched his hair.
However, he didn't initiate a conversation, instead looking excitedly at the surrounding scenery.
Passing through the cliffs covered in ivy, there was a hidden, wide entrance.
The small boat glided over the calm, waveless water, following a pitch-black tunnel, and arrived beneath the castle.
Then, it glided to a place like a dock, and the boat stopped on a patch of pebbles and gravel.
"Everyone out!"
Hagrid called out.
He cleared all the boats and even found Neville's toad.
Afterward, they followed in Hagrid's footsteps, climbing a small path on the rocky hillside.
Finally, walking across the damp grass, they arrived in front of a large oak door.
Hagrid stepped forward and knocked three times.
Darren saw the wooden door open, and Professor McGonagall walked out sternly.
"Thank you, Hagrid. I'll take it from here!"
She nodded at Hagrid and led the group of first-years toward the Great Hall.
It was very large here.
The ceiling seemed to have no end.
Torches burned on the stone walls, making the place bright.
Even though Darren had been here before, he felt shocked once again.
"This place is enchanted to look like the sky outside. I read about it in 'Hogwarts: A History'."
Darren heard someone behind him say this.
It must be Hermione.
She was a true top student.
He couldn't help but offer a compliment.
"Pfft!"
Just as Darren was sincerely sighing at Hermione's diligence, an extremely disdainful interjection came from beside him.
He turned to look.
Cassandra was standing behind him with her arms crossed, looking cold and aloof. If Darren didn't have good hearing, he wouldn't have been sure that sound came from her.
He hesitated for a moment, wanting to exert his Saintly Father radiance to correct her moral values.
But after thinking about it, he gave up the idea; after all, he had no proof that she was the one who made the sound.
And Cassandra's voice was very soft; he guessed no one else had heard it.
This scene wasn't good for showing off.
Forget it, there would always be scenes for him to perform. ===== CHAPTER 86 =====
