Chapter 369

~4 min read 664 words

"Found him!"

Dumbledore's voice interrupted Harry's fantasy.

Then he saw Dumbledore tap on a spot in the air, while muttering some spell.

Suddenly, the scene around them changed rapidly.

The grass, which had been lush and green just a moment ago, was now stained with blood.

There was a thick, heavy smell of blood in the air.

And more than a dozen people were lying on the ground.

Harry spotted Darren at a single glance.

He was clutching his wand tightly, as if he had been in a standoff with someone right before he collapsed.

His body was almost entirely dyed red with blood.

Harry practically threw himself onto Darren.

He reached out with trembling hands to touch Darren's nose.

Only then did he let out a slight sigh of relief.

"Move aside!"

An irritated voice appeared beside Harry; before Harry could react, a hand lifted him up and tossed him to the side.

Harry stood up indignantly, and then he saw Snape.

After Snape cast several spells on Darren with his wand, he pulled several vials of potions from his person and poured them all into Darren's mouth.

Because Snape's expression was so ferocious, Harry almost thought it was poison.

Fortunately, Professor McGonagall nearby had been holding her wand, checking Darren's condition.

After several vials of potions were poured down, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But she still said with a choked voice, "Albus, I will take this child to St. Mungo's first; as for the other students... you others can send them!"

St. Mungo's...

Harry had heard of this place.

It was the hospital of the wizarding world.

Madam Pomfrey's medical skills were superb, and under normal circumstances, if students had any problems, they would be sent to Madam Pomfrey.

Yet Professor McGonagall wanted to send Darren to St. Mungo's.

"Professor, Darren, he..."

"Good child, you all go back quickly, Darren will definitely be fine!"

Professor McGonagall wiped away her tears, and she hurried away carrying Darren.

Harry could barely control his own tears.

He discovered that Hermione was just like him.

They were both crying.

And at this moment, not a single professor had the mind to chase them back to the castle.

They were checking on the students one by one with grim expressions.

Finally, Professor Flitwick reported, "Excluding Darren, there were a total of 15 Slytherin students; nine students died, and only six students remain alive."

"They are not too seriously injured; I believe that after drinking the kind of potion Severus just took out for Darren, they will be able to wake up immediately."

Everyone looked at Snape.

Snape sneered sarcastically, "How could I possibly have so many precious potions? Those precious potion ingredients, even I have to use them sparingly!"

Harry felt he was lying, because when he was pouring the potion for Darren just now, he didn't look like he felt any regret at all.

So he felt that Snape was just too lazy to get the medicine.

But he didn't quite understand why Snape was willing to get medicine for Darren.

Could it be that he was putting on a show for Dumbledore?

Perhaps it really was; after all, Darren was his younger brother.

He defeated Voldemort when he was young; although he didn't know how he did it, Dumbledore still valued him highly.

Because of the importance placed on him, he often suspected Darren of doing bad things.

And Snape was on Dumbledore's payroll.

He certainly had no way to refuse Dumbledore's requests, which was why he would be slightly better to Darren.

Snape was indeed as annoying as ever!

"I brought medicine; perhaps, Dumbledore, we need to wake these students up now and clarify exactly what happened?"

Madam Pomfrey walked over from a distance and said in an angry tone.

"Thank you, Poppy; wake them up as soon as possible. We must know the full truth of the matter before the Ministry of Magic arrives...

Just come to my office!"
