Chapter 424
Snape's lips pursed.
He had never thought there would be such an unbearable time.
The boy really never gave him a trusting smile again, nor did he happily call out "Professor" to him.
Every move he made now was just like those Slytherins.
Cold, polite.
Making him unable to pick out a single error, yet filled with anger.
He didn't know why he was angry either.
Perhaps the students recently were just too stupid?
The potions handed in by Darren and Potter were simply worlds apart.
He stormed around the Potions classroom, feeling uncontrollable anger at everyone he saw.
"Miss Compes, if your brain is still there, then you should know that it takes two more seconds to add the ingredients... Add it, what are you looking at me for, are you an idiot?"
"Mr. Penigan, did I tell you to add this ingredient? Are your eyes blind? Can't you see what's written on it?"
"Longbottom! You fool, if you blow up a cauldron again, I'll throw your toad in!"
"Mr. Fidilon, what are you doing? Why don't you put your troll-like brain in the pot and boil it? What did you add? Redo it!"
With a wave of his hand, many students' cauldrons were emptied.
This meant they needed to remake the potion.
All their hard work was gone.
Harry was hiding in the corner; because he was distracted, his Swelling Solution was brewed too thin.
To avoid Snape noticing him, he specifically had Ron stand on the outside.
But unfortunately, after Snape criticized those few students, he walked directly to Harry's side with a clear target.
"Hmph, what did I say? I said, how much to add? One ounce, how much did you add? Redo it!"
Snape waved his wand.
Harry's potion disappeared.
He had no choice but to start over.
But just as he added water, Snape turned back again.
"Who told you to add so much water? Even a troll would leave in disappointment if it saw your brain!"
Harry was shaking with anger.
They all added extra water first and then scooped out the excess; Snape had said they weren't skilled and could do this, but now he was scolding him again.
"Bear with it, think about what we have to do today!"
Ron stepped on Harry's foot.
Harry took a deep breath, refraining from talking back to Snape.
He added the ingredients, waited for the pot to boil, and just as he had finally brewed it to completion, Snape turned back again.
"Potter, you fail, redo it!"
Snape waved his wand.
"Some people are just stupid and not at all suitable for learning Potions; I think I need to suggest to Dumbledore that such students should all be kicked out!"
He said this clearly targeting Harry.
"Pfft!"
"Hahaha!"
"That's right, that's right..."
Crabbe and Goyle laughed wildly.
Malfoy made a face at Harry.
Harry clenched his fists, saw Darren's concerned look, and shook his head quickly.
Because if Darren intervened, Snape would only get more energized.
Snape would deduct points from Gryffindor until he cried.
Bear it!
Harry bore it again and again, finally finding an opportunity.
He took a firebomb made by Fred and the others from his robes.
Taking advantage of Snape turning around to discipline others, he threw it directly into Goyle's cauldron...
Make them cry!
Darren was reading at his seat when he heard a noisy sound.
【Ding, a scenario for the Saint Father System to function has been detected around the host. A temporary mission is now issued: Block the right side of Snape's body, and after your face is cut by a small knife, say anxiously: Professor, watch out!】
【Ding, upon mission completion, you will receive Potion Talent +2. Does the host wish to accept the mission?】
【Accept】
Darren looked back.
Sure enough, he found Goyle's cauldron suddenly exploding, the Swelling Solution inside splashing everywhere, as if something in the pot was setting off fireworks.
And with the splashing of the Swelling Solution, Goyle's cauldron couldn't hold up either.
It became huge and then suddenly smashed toward Snape's back.
Darren immediately blocked Snape's right side, a small knife grazing Darren's cheek amidst the explosion of the potion.
But he acted as if he didn't feel it at all, saying anxiously: "Professor, watch out!"
【Ding, congratulations to the host for completing the mission, Potion Talent +2】
Darren accepted the reward, and before he could pull out his wand to blow up that cauldron, he heard Snape's angry voice shout: "Impedimenta!"
The cauldron was blocked in front of Darren.
Then, as if it had hit a wall, it fell weakly from the wall.
But the Swelling Solution inside kept spraying.
Snape was caught off guard and splashed with Swelling Solution on his palm; he angrily pointed his wand at his palm.
Just because he didn't control his magic well, after eliminating the effect of the Swelling Solution, a small wound remained.
Snape didn't care; all his energy was focused on Darren.
"Potter, are you crazy? You used your face to catch a cauldron, why didn't you just put your head..."
Snape roared angrily, but halfway through, he couldn't roar anymore.
When he saw those eyes looking at him with guilt, all his fury dissipated.
This child, was he trying to save him just now?
Why?
Didn't he hate him?
Didn't he decide to be like strangers from now on?
Why did he want to save him again?
Could it be the little brat's kindness acting up, and he was just overthinking?
Snape almost loathed himself for such a display; why did he...
He suddenly raised his palm.
For some reason, the blood on his palm seemed to have a faint connection with the smear of blood on the little Potter brat's face.
