Chapter 51: Snape

~6 min read 1,087 words

On Friday morning, Snape sat at the teachers’ table eating as usual. He also, as usual, glanced at the two Potter cubs.

Very good, the older cub finally wasn't late today and arrived at the Great Hall on time.

The younger cub... the younger cub was secretly looking at the older cub with glowing eyes.

Truly...

It lived up to that younger cub’s personality.

Simply like a fool, completely forgetting how Harry Potter had shunned him on the first day of school.

Snape snorted coldly and poked the steak on his plate with a dinner knife.

It wasn't until Quirrell reminded him tremblingly that the steak had already been poked to pieces that he refocused his gaze back onto his plate.

He mocked himself in his heart for being meddlesome; what did the Potter cubs have to do with him, Snape?

He only needed to be responsible for their safety!

Snape lowered his head to eat, just wanting to end all this quickly, when he suddenly heard a gasp.

What now?

Can’t even eat a meal in peace?

Snape looked over irritably.

As a result, he saw Harry Potter standing next to that younger cub.

Ignoring the younger cub for days, is he planning to come over and teach that younger cub a lesson today?

Gryffindor, hmph!

Snape pulled out his wand nonchalantly.

He planned to cast a Disarming Charm on Harry Potter the moment he made a move, and then arrange a month of detention for him.

Pfft, letting James Potter’s son process potions in his office, it was indescribably comfortable.

Only.

Not an argument?

Is he inviting that younger cub to go eat at Gryffindor?

Snape’s face turned somewhat gloomy.

This was even worse than an argument!

Harry Potter had no idea what it meant for him to invite that younger cub to Gryffindor at this time.

It meant that the younger cub would be ostracized by the other Slytherins and would be punished by everyone.

Yes, according to Slytherin’s rules, leaving when acting as a group meant betrayal.

Especially when going to Slytherin’s rival house, Gryffindor!

When that younger cub returned to the common room at night, he would be punished by those Slytherin students, one by one, with spells.

Unless those Slytherin students all gave up the opportunity to punish the younger cub, he would definitely be dealt with.

As the Head of House, Snape could stop this action, but that would mean Darren Potter would be expelled from the house by Slytherin.

Yes, expelled from Slytherin House.

This was a Slytherin rule that neither the Headmaster nor the Head of House could change.

In other words, he had to let Darren receive punishment.

Snape’s face became extremely ugly, and he even wanted to go over and interrupt Darren’s answer directly.

However, seeing Quirrell eavesdropping nearby, he still said coldly: "It seems I need to prepare a punishment for Potter."

"That, that’s not necessary... not so, cruel."

Quirrell said stutteringly.

Snape sneered in his heart.

Not necessary? ===== CHAPTER 124 =====

What are you pretending for?

Ever since Quirrell entered Hogwarts, he had vaguely suspected that that person had returned.

And that person was even staying at the back of Quirrell’s head, wrapped in cloth.

If he dared to show pity for Potter, who knew if it would attract that person’s attention?

And not a single word spoken by this person could be trusted.

What do you mean it doesn't need to be so cruel to Potter?

It was truly hilarious.

Wasn't that person famous for being cruel?

He had been killed once by that younger cub’s brother, Harry Potter; how could he possibly look at that younger cub with favor?

This might be that person’s test.

Wanting to know if he was still loyal?

Hah!

Snape coldly pushed away Quirrell’s head, which was leaning in, and then turned to leave the staff table.

He called over the Slytherin Head Girl, who was showing concern.

"I need you to use the Cruciatus Curse on Darren Potter!"

Snape said to this girl from the Greengrass family.

Then he saw the shock in the girl’s eyes.

"This... Professor, I can't... this is Dark Magic... I can't use this kind of magic at school!"

The girl denied it vehemently.

But Snape saw the anger in her eyes, and even a hint of murderous intent.

Naive.

Showing murderous intent toward a Slytherin Head of House?

If she were facing an enemy, she would already be dead!

"Hmph, don't play your tricks; I permit you to use this kind of magic... no, no, no, if no one spreads it, isn't it not a violation?"

Snape said with a mocking smile.

Then, without listening to what Miss Greengrass had to say next, he turned and left, but "accidentally" dropped a thimble before leaving.

Seeing Miss Greengrass pick up the thimble and reveal an expression of sudden realization and excitement, Snape quietly returned to his office.

In his office, he saw Dumbledore, who should have been in the Great Hall.

"If I remember correctly, the Headmaster should be eating at the staff table right now."

Snape narrowed his eyes, his wand gripped in his hand.

Although he didn't think anyone could get this Headmaster’s hair to disguise themselves as him.

"A little bit of magic, good morning, Severus."

Dumbledore looked a bit sleepy.

However, his blue eyes were still wise.

He stood in the center of Snape’s office, saw that Snape was still in that tense state, shrugged his shoulders, and took out the Elder Wand.

"Alright, it really is you, then Dumbledore, what did you come to find me for?"

Snape snorted and put away his wand.

Unless Dumbledore was dead, the Elder Wand couldn't be handed over to anyone else.

"Severus, forgive an old man’s pain; I need to enter Slytherin with you to observe Darren receiving his punishment!"

"Bang!"

Snape smashed the table beside him in anger.

He pulled out his wand, aimed it at Dumbledore, and said angrily: "Dumbledore, what exactly are you trying to do? Don't tell me you want to see that younger cub actually be subjected to the Cruciatus Curse and be tortured to death?"

"No, no, no, Severus, you’re overthinking it."

Dumbledore shook his head helplessly, signaling Snape to put down his wand.

Snape was silent for a while, then put down his wand with hollow eyes.

He said with some bitterness: "Dumbledore, you have always been like this; how do you expect me to trust you?"
