Chapter 70: The sharp-tongued Snape!!
Hearing Snape deduct points, Harry opened his mouth to argue indignantly, but was silenced by Hermione covering his mouth, and he was also stepped on by Ron.
They had long since realized that Snape simply loathed Harry and was trying every possible way to find fault with him.
Now, no matter what Harry said, Snape would deduct points from him.
And Gryffindor’s points, under Snape’s efforts, didn’t have many left.
“Professor, it was all because of me. I heard there was a troll here, so I thought I could defeat it. I had read about how to defeat it in a book… Harry and the others only came to save me. If you want to punish someone, punish me!”
Hermione said with her head lowered.
Harry and Ron looked at her in shock.
Clearly, they hadn’t expected her to take all the blame upon herself.
“Hmph! Miss Know-It-All… I certainly know of your reputation. Do you think you know everything?
Who do you think you are? Twenty points from Gryffindor, for your recklessness!”
Snape still looked very angry.
Harry didn’t know what he was so angry about.
This was just an accident, making such a big fuss out of it.
It was clearly intentional, just to punish him!
“Alright, alright, Severus, don’t be too serious. Since the troll is already dead and the children are unharmed, don’t be too hard on them.
Hmm, since Severus has already deducted the points, let me say something else: Harry and Ron were very brave. Even knowing they were no match for the troll, they remained fearless. Twenty points to Gryffindor, twenty points each.”
Harry was overjoyed; this way, they had only lost ten points tonight.
Even when he heard Snape disdainfully mutter “reckless, foolish lions,” he didn’t get angry.
“And of course, there is Darren. This child defeated the troll with powerful strength. Thirty points to Slytherin, excellent!”
Dumbledore continued to praise.
Harry noticed that Snape seemed to say something silently.
It must have been a curse.
It seems he also really dislikes Darren.
“Now, children, you should return to your common room!”
Dumbledore said with a smile.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron hurried outside.
Before leaving, he turned back to take a quiet look at the professors.
He noticed that Professor Quirrell, who had been acting very flustered, was now pulling a long face, as if he had been lectured by someone.
And the Snape he had always hated was walking aggressively toward Dumbledore. “Let’s go, Harry, maybe we can sneak a look at Darren before going back to sleep.”
“Yes, yes, maybe Darren will be awake by the time we get there.”
Harry said eagerly, immediately forgetting the scenes he had just seen.
The three of them hurried to the hospital wing.
Sadly, they were discovered by Madam Pomfrey, who chased them out.
However, they also received good news: Darren had woken up and clearly had no problems.
The three of them returned to the common room.
They awkwardly said goodnight to each other.
After saying it, they all laughed at the same time.
Clearly, they had become friends.
After Halloween, it was November.
Darren wrapped himself in a thick scarf, yet he still felt the cold wind whistling into his neck.
Regarding the previous incident, Snape didn’t look for trouble with him afterward; clearly, before he was discharged, this old bachelor’s temper had been fully vented.
Hermione and Ron also became good friends.
After Darren was discharged, they even sincerely apologized to him several times in front of him.
This left Darren with no choice but to “gratifyingly” say that Gryffindor was a great house that knew how to correct its mistakes.
After becoming everyone’s friend, Hermione became less concerned about breaking school rules.
This made her very cute.
During the break between classes.
Hermione used a small jar to conjure a source of fire and put it inside so they could warm their hands.
She was currently knitting a scarf for Darren.
Because Darren said every day that the scarves bought outside still made him feel very cold.
Harry was holding a book about Quidditch in his hands.
This was something Hermione had found for him in the library.
Just as Harry was reading, he suddenly saw Snape walk out from a corner.
He was limping, looking as if he had been injured.
He quickly used his body to block the flame Hermione had created, preventing it from being confiscated by Snape. “What are you doing?”
Snape saw Harry’s guilty face at a glance.
Unsurprisingly, when he was in a bad mood, his only thought now was to find fault with Harry Potter.
“Nothing!”
Harry said immediately.
Only then did Snape notice that Darren was also here.
He snorted.
His mood became even worse.
Looking at Harry, he found a random excuse and asked: “What book are you reading?”
*God-Level Quidditch*
Harry showed him the title of the book.
Snape’s mood became even worse.
He snatched the book away and then sneered, saying: “Library books are not allowed to be taken back to the dormitory. Ten points from Gryffindor!”
He limped away.
Leaving Harry almost mad with anger.
“That’s an excuse he just made up; the library has never had that rule!”
He said loudly.
Unfortunately, Snape was never one to follow the rules.
Harry and Ron spoke ill of Snape one after another; only Hermione noticed that Darren was exceptionally quiet today.
If it were usual, hearing Harry and Ron say such things, he would definitely have angrily told them to use respectful titles for the professor.
And stated that Professor Snape was a gentle person and they should understand him.
Harry and Ron usually agreed on the surface, while privately suspecting that Snape had fed Darren some potion.
Otherwise, how could his eyes have become so blind?
“Professor Snape’s leg seems to be injured!”
Darren said with concern.
Then he couldn’t sit still anymore.
He should go to Snape’s office to farm some Saintly Father points, or see if he could refresh the quest.
If he didn’t go now, by the standards of the wizarding world, Snape might already be healed!
“Hmm, I’ll go see the professor and see if I can help with anything!”
Darren stood up immediately.
He said somewhat anxiously.
Harry sighed and had no choice but to stand up as well, saying: “I’ll go too, just in time to ask him to give the book back!”
“Brother…”
“Don’t say it, it’s impossible for me to let you go to him alone.”
