Chapter 110
Jiaoyao Teng is a vine plant with perceptual abilities that emits squeaking sounds.
It was currently clinging to Neville’s seedling box, emitting faint squeaks.
Perhaps Neville had over-fertilized them; they suddenly began writhing uncomfortably in the seedling box, terrifying Neville into frantically searching through Wizard Sean’s notes—though all of them helped out in the greenhouse, only Wizard Sean ever recorded every detail meticulously.
Green’s Notes were the golden standard in the minds of young wizards.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I must say, everything you can think of is in there, and everything you can’t think of is in there too—if you still don’t understand, you simply didn’t read carefully.”
This phrase had recently spread along the Gryffindor table, and somehow, not a single Slytherin had dared to contradict it.
“Speak softly! (Puierus!)”
As Neville floundered helplessly, Wizard Sean swiftly waved his wand.
The Jiaoyao Teng could no longer make loud noises—only faint squeaks remained, reminding Neville that he’d used too much fertilizer.

【Muted Charm: Apprentice (700/900)】
Recalling the noise from the Jiaoyao Teng in the greenhouse, Wizard Sean roughly estimated that the Apprentice-level Muted Charm reduced noise by eighty percent.
It was significantly stronger than the Novice effect, and for quieter sounds, it could render them nearly silent.
Of course, a wizard’s effect from the same proficiency charm wasn’t always consistent—magic was subjective, and spell strength varied with the wizard’s state.
Facing Harry’s increasingly powerful Expelliarmus, Tom must have plenty to say.
The classroom returned to its usual state: Hermione was instructing Neville in charms, and soon enough, Neville would help Hermione organize the plants on the desk.
With so many plants, Neville hung a small label on each one, listing Wizard Sean, Hermione, and Jia Jia Siting’s names, along with the plant’s growth duration—even though he was the one who mostly cared for them.
Wizard Sean always practiced charms for hours at a time until the Hogwarts bell rang.

【Muted Charm: Skilled (10/3000)】
Wizard Sean happily tucked away his wand and turned to reread Professor Flitwick’s notes.
The Great Hall.
The ceiling was dull gray, as if raindrops were about to fall, yet the interior remained dry and warm.
The four who had left the classroom had grown accustomed to sitting at the last bench of the Ravenclaw table.
Here stood a large fireplace, built of massive, rough honey-colored stones, their surfaces darkened over centuries of smoke and flame into a deep, oily ebony hue.
The Fat Friar sometimes passed through here on his way to the Gryffindor table.
It was neither as noisy as Gryffindor, nor as filled with boasts and flattery as Slytherin, nor prone to sudden “food riots” like Hufflepuff’s table.
In short, Ravenclaw students maintained a certain distance from one another.
But that wasn’t why these four chose this spot—simply because the pudding here was more abundant—this would draw a Green.
Yet today, even the Ravenclaw table was unusually noisy.
Crowds gathered before the notice board, which read:
【By late October, on the eve of Halloween, students in third year and above may spend the weekend in Hogsmeade. Remember to obtain a guardian’s signature.】
“First time spending a weekend in Hogsmeade!”
Fred turned and slapped hands with George, pointing at a newly posted notice on the tattered bulletin board, saying,
“Late October. On the eve of Halloween.”
“Perfect!”
George added,
“I’ve got to visit Zonko’s Joke Shop—they’re almost out of stink pellets.”
“Third year—”
At this, some young wizards would sigh dejectedly and slump into a nearby chair, their excitement instantly drained.
Their companion would comfort them:
“We’ll go when we’re in third year. But what exactly is Hogsmeade?”
“Oh! You don’t know? It’s the only village in Britain without any Muggles. Supposedly, the local pub was the headquarters of the Goblin Uprising of 1121! And the Shrieking Shack—it’s the most haunted house in all of Britain—”
Of course, there were also young wizards who seemed “unimpressed”:
“They’ve made Hogsmeade sound like the greatest thing ever, but I’m telling you—it’s not that great.”
This Gryffindor said solemnly,
“My brother says the candy shop is decent, but Zonko’s is dangerous.
Oh, right—the Shrieking Shack is worth a visit. But beyond that, honestly, we wouldn’t miss anything.”
Almost every wizard in the Great Hall was loudly discussing Hogsmeade; even Jia Jia Siting and Hermione couldn’t help joining in briefly.
Wizard Sean didn’t care—he was still recalling knowledge about the Disillusionment Charm when suddenly, a spark of inspiration struck, and his quill began scribbling furiously across his notebook.
He didn’t know that three wizards wrapped in yellow-and-black scarves were watching him right now.
“Speak up, Bruce. What’s the plan?”
Leon seemed to have guessed already, but seeing Bruce’s confident, half-silenced expression, he let him speak.
“Oh—Leon, it’s obviously…”
Senior Bruce wrapped his arms around Leon and Pistor’s necks, as if revealing some earth-shattering secret.
……
The classroom.
“Disillusionment!”
Wizard Sean’s wand swept a wide arc through the air before tapping his body.

A strange, icy sensation spread from the point where the wand touched him, flowing through his entire body.
Wizard Sean felt as if he’d been wrapped in an invisible film, just like in the staff lounge—making him transparent.
But the transparency wasn’t complete; the Apprentice-level Disillusionment Charm couldn’t render him fully invisible—subtle, barely noticeable fluctuations of light still remained.
It differed greatly from the spell Professor Flitwick had cast earlier—his version had blended color, outline, and shadow seamlessly into the background.
—Last time, he’d looked as if he’d put on an Invisibility Cloak.
But the Disillusionment Charm was a functional spell; Wizard Sean estimated Skilled proficiency would be sufficient.
The only thing Wizard Sean hadn’t expected was that, just like Harry using the Invisibility Cloak, the charm always worked perfectly when he felt he was sneaking around at night.
Of course, precise incantation and gesture were still required—emotion merely strengthened intent.
In the classroom, the Jiaoyao Teng no longer twisted—it now swayed quietly, dancing with the cold wind seeping through the window.
Wizard Sean’s schedule changed again—he needed to reconsider which three spells he would grind to Expert level.
