Chapter 246: Refined Magic
“Great Green!”
Before reaching the small house, the Weasley twins stuck their heads out of the crooked window.
En looked up but saw no one, only heard the clattering sound—the twins had already run down the stairs.
“Before the guest enters, you’d better clean up that swamp of yours!”
Mrs. Weasley shouted.
When she turned back, she became warm and kind again.
“I’m not talking about you, child. I know you’re an alchemy genius—do whatever you like.”
The Weasley twins looked at each other, shrugged, as if it were nothing unusual.
“What are you waiting for? No more of these annoying things inside the house—go to your father’s pond!”
Mrs. Weasley shouted again at the twins.
“You can do anything, Mr. Green, just don’t follow Fred and George.”
Mrs. Weasley turned to him with a completely different tone.
“Remember? Mom always favors outsiders—your sweater’s way better than ours.”
Fred finished speaking and ran off.
Mrs. Weasley chased after him, angry, and swatted his backside.
George winked and led En into the Burrow.
Before them was a cramped but neatly organized kitchen and living room.
They were connected, separated only by a fireplace.
The kitchen was small and crowded, with a clean wooden table and several chairs in the center. There was also a wall clock with only one hand, its face marked with phrases like “Tea Time,” “Feed the Chickens,” and “You’re Late.”
The hand bore photos—moving portraits of Ron and others.
Fred and George’s portraits were placed together; their faces turned as the hand moved.
“It’s old, but it’s still a home.”
Fred ran over from afar and said to En in a rush.
Mrs. Weasley swatted him with the feather duster, and he yelped, sprinting upstairs.
“He’s dead—there’s a swamp upstairs.”
George teased.
Sure enough, Fred’s cries for help soon echoed.
“Mom, can you pull me out? Oh, Mom—don’t leave… Alright, hey—is anyone else here—”
Satisfied, Mrs. Weasley came downstairs to find En watching the self-knitting needles and the self-cleaning dishes.
“These are just minor magic…”
Mrs. Weasley said, slightly embarrassed.
“I think it’s amazing.”
En said, eyes fixed.
He himself could never achieve this—it required a wizard to master his magic to a certain degree, and right now, he seemed to lack precisely that ability.
“Can I learn this, Mrs. Weasley?”
En made his request—this was one of his reasons for coming here.
Fred and George had told him many times that such mastery required practice, and their mother was a master in this field.
“What’s there to learn… but of course you can, dear.”
Mrs. Weasley’s cheeks flushed slightly.
“…Mom, have you seen my socks?”
A familiar voice came from the other staircase—Ron came down.
The moment he saw En, his eyes widened:
“En—!”
“I told you you’d know him—come down and greet our guest, Ron.”
Mrs. Weasley said.
“Know him? Beyond that…”
Ron muttered.
“Hmm?”
Mrs. Weasley frowned.
“I mean…”
Ron shrank back—what should he say?
Should he say En was the head of their Round Table Society? Or that En led them to guard the Forbidden Forest and single-handedly stormed the final chamber to crush the Dark Lord’s plot?
Mom wouldn’t believe him anyway.
“I mean… En is top of the year, got perfect marks in every subject, and is the Seeker for Ravenclaw—he led Ravenclaw to win both the Quidditch Cup and the House Cup.”
Ron couldn’t believe how smoothly the words came out.
“Oh! Oh! My goodness, what an outstanding child!”
Mrs. Weasley saw En’s small figure as if glowing.
“And you? Ron?”
Mrs. Weasley changed the subject.
“I’m just eighth.”
Ron whispered.
“Merlin! Brilliant! Children, come here!”
Then En and Ron were pulled into her embrace without protest.
“We must celebrate properly!”
She said.
Night fell quickly, and En followed Mrs. Weasley, who patiently guided him in using household magic.
After all, this was a form of Transfiguration—making objects move on their own.
But more complex, because the instructions given to the objects were far more intricate and subtle.
All night, En heard the panel keep chiming:
【You practiced an Advanced Transfiguration at the Skilled standard, proficiency +30】
【You practiced an Advanced Transfiguration at the Skilled standard, proficiency +30】
…
What En hadn’t expected was that this was also an Advanced Transfiguration.
It belonged to the category of Object-to-Magic Advanced Transfiguration.
Before dinner, En was given a small room—a surprisingly spacious one.
In such a cramped house, this was unexpected.
His luggage had been placed inside by the enthusiastic Mrs. Weasley; when he entered, he saw only a clean, bright blend of sky blue and bronze.
The worn walls were lined with countless books, and a large window stood wide open, facing the bed.
It was easy to imagine how brilliantly sunlight would pour in during the day.
There was also a separate desk, and even a small area protected by a Magical Barrier.
Mrs. Weasley had clearly prepared long in advance—all amenities were in place.
En would study refined magic here and unlock the Expert title in Alchemy.
He opened his panel:
【Six Expert-level Mid-rank Alchemy creations, twelve Skilled-level Alchemy creations—can unlock Expert title in Alchemy】
【Mid-rank · Cleaning Broom: Skilled (1210/3000)】
【Mid-rank · Leisure Broom: Expert (120/9000)】
【Mid-rank · Oddball Wizard Chess: Expert (120/9000)】
…
He had only the Cleaning Broom left—a final Mid-rank Alchemy creation—and the Expert Alchemy title awaited him.
“Knock knock—”
A knock came from the door.
“Great Green—”
Fred called.
“Head to Diagon Alley—”
George added.
“We need to restock the shop.”
The twins spoke in unison.
En opened the door—they were brimming with energy.
“We’ve waited for this day too long! Time is short!”
Fred gestured for En to follow.
"So much still needs to be done—and can you believe it? We only have a week!"
George rushed ahead, eager to lead the way.
"With enough stock, we’ll become the best trick shop in all of Britain!"
Tomorrow, at least six updates; Lu will try to make up to seven.
