Chapter 389: Haige's Good News
The next day.
Early morning.
Water droplets still hung from the castle's spires. The owlery already had the sound of flapping wings, and the mail-delivering team swept across the courtyard, their feathers still stained with shimmering water vapor.
The people in the corridor portraits yawned and stretched. Some young wizards crawled out from behind tapestries, stepping into the puddles in the corridor with a splash.
They walked, laughed, and spread rumors.
"Have you heard? The reason Jia Siting's detention was canceled is because they defeated a werewolf in the Forbidden Forest!"
A Hufflepuff wearing a black and yellow scarf said excitedly. This was Ernie, a Hufflepuff of unknown generations of pure blood.
"More than that! I heard there were trolls too!"
Oliver also shouted loudly.
"And a dragon!"
The newly joined Hannah also participated in the discussion with great interest.
"And..."
Susan didn't know what else she could say. What was more powerful and evil than a dragon?
"And a mysterious—"
Her brain wasn't running well for a moment, and she almost blurted it out. Hannah broke into a cold sweat and quickly covered her mouth.
The circle of Hufflepuffs around them were all convinced, and everyone unanimously agreed that Susan was the best young wizard at spreading rumors.
"Alright, you have won the 'Never Go Hungry' Club Best Rumor Spreader Award. I'll reward you with ten extra points on your final exam; remember to go get them on the paper."
Ernie said admiringly.
Jia Siting and the others passing by couldn't help but smile.
They had been exempted from detention, which was a very rare thing, so although they hadn't spread the news about the fourth-floor room and the Forbidden Forest, there were undoubtedly many more discussions in Hogwarts Castle.
As for the reason they didn't spread it, it was simple: exams were coming up. Even though they were very excited, everyone unanimously decided to brag about it properly after the exams.
After all, no one wanted to be pestered to tell the story of Professor Qiluo's rebellion and counter-rebellion while trying to recite the Goblin Rebellion.
Sean was preparing to go to the hospital wing to bring some potions for Professor Qiluo; these potions could help sick wizards recover faster.
As for Harry, he seemed to be almost better.
In the hospital wing, Madam Pomfrey looked at the pile of valuable potions Sean brought, slightly surprised:
"Child, there are many unnecessary ones... where did you..."
"Madam, I brewed them myself."
Sean said.
"Hmm?"
Madam Pomfrey looked at him strangely.
For a young wizard to use a professor to test medicine was somewhat surprising.
"Professor Sineipu has inspected them; these potions are qualified."
Sean knew Madam Pomfrey must have misunderstood, so he explained.
"Let me see, child. Potions entering the hospital wing always need to be confirmed safe."
Madam Pomfrey sized up the potions for a while, then said in a pleasantly surprised voice:
"Qualified, oh! For you, it's too excellent, child, oh—are you Green?"
Madam Pomfrey seemed somewhat slow to react, because most of the potions here were produced from the cellar, and during this period, the cellar had always been able to send more potions, and the brewer's name written on them was Green.
"Thank you so much—"
Madam Pomfrey seemed to appreciate him very much, and didn't even mention how long he could stay in the hospital wing.
So Sean logically placed the potions on Professor Qiluo's table. The curse Professor Qiluo suffered was very serious, even more serious than the damage Voldemort had done to his life and soul.
This made Sean slightly surprised, and he prepared to go to the Forbidden Forest to ask Haige in a while.
Haige knew unicorns very well and might know some other methods.
Professor Qiluo was sleeping, so Sean continued to organize his current plans. He was only two mid-rank alchemical creations away from the Expert Alchemy title; Transfiguration was less than one-fifteenth away from Master proficiency...
Before long, a notebook floated out of Sean's pocket again. This notebook seemed blank, and even the words written by the quill were invisible to others.
Only Sean wrote bit by bit, sorting it out bit by bit. He wanted to seize more possibilities from the hands of fate.
At this moment, a huge commotion suddenly came from the hospital wing, and Haige squeezed into the door sideways.
Every time Haige walked through the door, he looked like a behemoth.
He sat down beside Harry, looked at Harry, and began to cry sadly.
"It's—all—my—fault—this—idiot!"
He covered his face with his hands and wept.
"I want you to know, it was I who told that scoundrel how to get past Luwei! It was I who told him! He knew everything, just not this, and I happened to tell him! You entered that room and almost lost your lives! All for a dragon egg! I will never drink again! I should be kicked out and be a Muggle for the rest of my life!"
Haige cried loudly. Madam Pomfrey, who should have kicked him out, just cast a small-voice spell on him, and then helplessly went to deal with a young wizard who had just broken his leg.
"Sean—I also saw Sean—I heard he went to face Professor Qiluo himself—I must be missing him so much that I'm hallucinating—"
As soon as Haige came, the hospital wing seemed to have changed.
At this moment, he was trembling with sorrow and regret, and large tears seeped into his beard.
"Haige, no matter what, Voldemort would always have a way to know. Please, be happier. We saved the Sorcerer's Stone; it's gone now, and Voldemort can never use it to do evil again. Have a Chocolate Frog; I have a whole pile..."
Harry looked at Sean for help again.
"We guarded the Forbidden Forest and drove away Voldemort. Haige, a lot of this is your credit."
Sean said.
"Really..." Haige wiped his nose with the back of his hand and said: "That reminds me. I also brought you some gifts.
Dumbledore gave me a day off yesterday to let me sort it out."
The thing Haige took out looked like an exquisite leather-covered book.
"I sent owls to your parents' old classmates to ask for photos... knowing you didn't have any photos of them... do you like it?"
Harry couldn't speak, but Haige understood everything.
"And yours, Sean, although doing this might get me fired. But you have to come with me..."
As he spoke, he didn't know what he thought of, and the tears in his eyes became so much more.
Sean followed Haige to an inconspicuous, locked tower.
Haige looked around, then took out a key and opened the door:
"You have three minutes. You can go in and take a look, Sean. I don't know what is written on it, but it is said that the feathers of a Diricawl have extremely special magic..."
Sean immediately guessed what it was.
He entered the tower, and sure enough, inside was a book with a black dragon-skin cover. Beside it was a small silver ink bottle with a long, faded quill inserted into it.
These were the Quill of Acceptance and the Book of Admittance, the only way Hogwarts selected students.
Sean knew that it would at least write down the young wizard's birthday; as for more... it was unclear. ===== CHAPTER 390 =====
