Chapter 398: Conversation with Ravenclaw
“This is my child, Webber.”
Mrs. Iso introduced him warmly, her smile brimming with vitality.
“Mr. Webber.”
The Cat-Leopard said.
The wizard named Webber nodded.
“How long have you stayed in the Borderland, dear Green?”
Mrs. Iso’s words carried deep meaning.
“Twenty minutes.”
The Cat-Leopard named a recorded number.
“Twenty-nine minutes.”
Mrs. Iso smiled.
“What’s the problem?”
The Cat-Leopard sensed something keenly.
“You are about to enter a deeper dream, child.”
Mrs. Iso replied.
“Thirty minutes?”
The Cat-Leopard asked.
“Isn’t it obvious?
But what I seek and what you seek both lie in deeper dreams.
You must have noticed that no ghosts wander in the dream you’re in.
They all exist in deeper dreams, all dwelling in more wondrous places.”
Mrs. Iso explained.
“You don’t have much time left.”
At that moment, Webber spoke—he seemed to understand the Borderland well.
“There’s still some.”
The Cat-Leopard replied thoughtfully.
The mist on his body had not fully risen, indicating he had recently gained another “ball of thread.”
But where did these balls of thread come from?
“I have already met Lady Ravenclaw. She has no intention of joining me on a great journey.
So I can Making Guide you once more—but this will be the last time, dear.
I am about to merge into the unknown world; this may be the last time I see you. Of course… if you have Merlin’s luck, our paths may cross again.”
Mrs. Iso smiled kindly.
“Please Making Guide me.”
The Cat-Leopard showed a hint of reluctance and said.
“It is not easy to forget a friend—not everyone has one.”
Mrs. Iso appeared detached.
“Then run southward, dear Green. May all go well with you.”
“Goodbye, dear Mrs. Iso.”
The Cat-Leopard’s whiskers no longer trembled; he lowered his head slightly.
In a few leaps, he vanished.
“Is saying goodbye always so hard?”
Mrs. Iso asked Webber beside her.
“Not always, Mother. Goodbye can be a beautiful word.
Before meeting you, it gave me an even stronger happiness—so you will know that three hundred years are not long.”
Webber said.
…
On the other side, the dream grew stranger after thirty minutes.
A moment’s inattention, and Wizard Sean could be entangled by the mist clusters.
Meanwhile, Wizard Sean knew he was drawing closer, for the sky grew ever darker.
In six and a half hours, night would fall completely—midnight would arrive.
In “The Dream Stories,” midnight brings bright stars, the perfect time to observe the night sky and receive revelations.
And after another six hours, the world beyond the veil would reach dawn’s threshold, when wandering souls could be seen.
But Wizard Sean did not follow these rules.
He followed love.
It brings souls closer together—that is why Wizard Sean found Mrs. Iso.
As for finding Lady Ravenclaw…
That was not hard to understand.
Mrs. Iso and Lady Ravenclaw once shared a place; now they are apart.
But Wizard Sean thought, it could not be too far.
Following the guidance, the Cat-Leopard’s paws stirred the wind.
As one of the most agile magical creatures, the Cat-Leopard sped swiftly across many places.
Many places shrouded in mist.
Sometimes a grassland, sometimes a mountain ravine—now the Cat-Leopard ran through a forest.
It reminded him of something, like the description in “The Dream Stories”:
【He (marked: Merlin) dreamed many dreams. At first he was an eagle, hunting wild rabbits on the grassland; sometimes he failed to catch them and went hungry. Later he became a rabbit, and then he pitied the frightened, struggling rabbits.
He traveled across grasslands, ravines, deserts—until he found the forest most suited to him, for here lived the most animals.
He was their family, and the forest’s eldest son. He discovered he could stay longer and longer.
At first, his dream shattered within seconds; later, he remained for seven hours. Then the sky darkened, stars filled the night, and the priest told him these stars were the brightest… and there he learned the art of divination…】
Wizard Sean thought: everything he experienced in the Borderland seemed to find echoes in “The Dream Stories”?
Then who wrote this book?
As he thought this, the mist rose even higher.
Wizard Sean forced himself not to stop—miss this chance, and he might never find Lady Ravenclaw again.
Another long journey.
Before Wizard Sean now lay a tranquil lakeside, where a gentle stream stretched along the shore, flowing farther away.
By the stream stood a beautiful woman, her face serious, even slightly imposing.
She wore a robe woven with green and blue, and in her hand was an ancient-looking book.
“A stranger Druid…”
She set down the book.
“I am the Animagus, Lady Ravenclaw.”
The Cat-Leopard replied.
Immediately, he saw Lady Ravenclaw smile lightly.
“Why have you come to me?”
Lady Ravenclaw added.
“I came for…”
The Cat-Leopard stood beside a large rock by the stream, but before he could speak, he was interrupted.
Lady Ravenclaw extended her finger—the Cat-Leopard was pulled forward by invisible force.
At close range, he saw her blue pupils.
“Your soul carries a familiar scent—Hogwarts, Ifa, and…”
Lady Ravenclaw placed the book beside the stream and took the Cat-Leopard’s paw in her hand.
“Can you tell something from my paw?”
The Cat-Leopard was curious.
“Nothing… I’ve never held one before.”
Lady Ravenclaw said.
Then she watched as the Cat-Leopard withdrew his paw.
“I have something to ask you, Lady Ravenclaw.”
The Cat-Leopard said.
“How interesting—you’re still alive.”
Lady Ravenclaw suddenly spoke.
“Didn’t you say… you could tell nothing?”
The Cat-Leopard showed a human-like look of confusion.
"A simple Druid."
Ravenclaw's lips curled slightly.
"Yes, I am still alive. That is why I have come to you—to..."
The Cat-Leopard watched the mist grow thicker, speaking faster.
"The secrets buried within Hogwarts Castle, a chamber that grants your every wish, or supreme wisdom and creativity?"
Countless souls here try to cling to me, but for you, my heir.
You may ask me many questions, but choose only the most important one."
Ravenclaw said calmly.
The Cat-Leopard paused; it seemed to think of many things in an instant, then asked:
"Helena Ravenclaw, are you... waiting for her?"
