Chapter 538
Remus John Lu Ping was prepared to come and see.
Since losing his job, a whole month had passed.
For this whole month, his life had become increasingly tight.
The villagers of Hogsmeade were actually no longer strangers to his face, and it was very difficult to find a job here. Even with a weekly salary of seven Galleons.
"Are you also here to apply for the store manager?"
A young witch stopped him at the bookstore entrance and invited him to a line that was different from the customers.
"Madam, I am here to apply for a shop assistant."
He said.
"What's the difference? If you can't be the store manager, it's not too late for you to apply for a shop assistant."
The young witch was very busy; she walked to the bookstore entrance again and pulled those applicants over here.
Lu Ping scanned the store; only one kind of book was on the shelves here, which was the "Green's Notes Series" written on the banner.
The books on all other counters were different categories of this book, including bound volumes, as well as more detailed and lighter small classifications.
For a bookstore, this was incredible. No bookstore dared to say that it only sold one kind of book, and this store was clearly different.
Soon Lu Ping understood why.
These books... were very popular.
He pulled out a copy of "History of Magic Section" from the front bookshelf to read, and soon became a little addicted to it.
Until—
"Do you have a wizard here whose wand is 10 and 1/4 inches, cypress, unicorn hair, and aged between thirty-two and thirty-three?"
The young clerk shouted.
The applying wizards were all a bit stunned, and then became noisy; what kind of requirement was this?
Lu Ping was even more confused than them; this requirement was almost naming him directly.
"I might qualify."
Lu Ping said.
"Please follow me."
The young clerk looked at him and said with satisfaction.
And arriving at the inner room of the shop, Lu Ping understood what was going on.
In the room.
The carpet was a thick plush, the walls were filled with books, the fireplace was burning cracklingly, and pumpkin juice that didn't quite fit the room's tone was brewing in exquisite silverware.
On the seat, a little wizard with golden hair was dealing with things like contracts, while another little wizard with black hair was reading a book.
When he came in, both of them looked at him.
"Meet again, sir."
The little wizard with golden hair said, and then walked out,
"Xiang Xien, I'll leave it to you."
So only the two of them were left in the room.
Lu Ping was a bit nervous now; this nervousness came from the doubt about the unknown.
"Excuse me, who are you?"
Lu Ping didn't know the other party's intention at all; what did he have that was worth plotting?
Patched, ragged clothes, or the identity of a werewolf?
What made him even more shocked was that the two store managers of this shop were too young; if you observe their clothes carefully, you would know that they came from Twilfitt and Tattings, and were worth a lot.
They looked more like children of two families.
"Xiang Xien Green."
Xiang Xien said.
This made Lu Ping speechless for a while; this child...
And after hearing this name, he recalled the store name of this shop—"Green Bookstore."
He soon associated something.
No wonder the content of the History of Magic notes was slightly immature; although it proposed a brand-new system and brought readers a brand-new and excellent reading experience, one could still see some omissions in the author's knowledge reserve.
For an author who publishes books, it was just above the passing line;
But for a first or second-year little wizard...
It was simply a fantasy.
"This was published by me and my partners; we are still studying at Hogwarts, so we need an acting store manager. I wonder what you think?"
Xiang Xien closed the book in his hand.
Lu Ping's eyelids drooped; it was difficult for him to last long in a job; once his werewolf identity was exposed, he would be driven away quickly most of the time.
But he was now destitute and indeed needed a job.
"Forgive me for refusing..."
Lu Ping said in a hoarse voice.
These two little wizards... turned out to be here to recruit a store manager; they must have tried their best to get out of Hogwarts Castle; he clearly knew the difficulty, especially for such law-abiding wizards.
I'm afraid they only had this one chance; if he was fired, they could only wait for the holiday to recruit people.
