Chapter 592: Welcome to Ilvermorny
The stone house was burning with a fireplace; from the moment Sean arrived, the abandoned fireplace had miraculously burned until now, and Sean didn't even see any firewood in it.
In other words, this was a flame created by magic, and the source seemed to be the rune symbols engraved on the wall.
"Dear Mr. Hermes, Professor Tela, follow me."
Principal Herrera waved her hand, and Professor Tela's focused expression paused, as if it were a pity, and turned to Herrera.
Sean also cast his gaze into the distance.
Mist, rose up.
A behemoth suddenly appeared in front of Sean.
At this moment, it was being embraced and swallowed by the gray-white evening mist steaming up from Mount Greylock.
Its outline was profound, in the mist, like a huge phantom that hadn't yet appeared, or a mysterious island floating in the sea of clouds.
The thick walls were deep in color, between cold gray and dark cyan, saturated with mist, looking moist and solemn. The narrow, long stained-glass windows on the walls were just blurry, dim-colored spots at this moment, like the eyelids of a giant closing when sleeping.
"So, welcome to Ilvermorny!"
Principal Herrera said in an inspiring and impassioned voice.
She finally held Sean's hand.
The young wizard looked at her with slightly confused eyes, and then looked back at his teacher.
"Go, my disciple, Herrera will take you directly into the hall of Ilvermorny."
Professor Tela laughed dumbly,
"As for me, clearly there is no need to sort again, but I will watch you from the circular terrace."
Professor Tela's sentence was both an explanation and a warning.
"We are going to Apparate, dear Mr. Hermes, I heard you have some preparations?"
Principal Herrera had always been kind.
"Yes, Principal Herrera."
Sean took out a bottle of potion.
In fact, he had Apparated many times, but had never experienced the feeling of dizziness.
When traveling, Professor Tela had always chosen the Floo Network, even if it would take some detours.
Principal Herrera snapped her fingers, and the scene in front of Sean changed abruptly—they had already arrived in an entrance hall.
The entrance hall was as vast as Gringotts, with burning torches all around the stone walls. The ceiling was so high it was almost impossible to see the top. Directly in front was a luxurious marble staircase leading straight upstairs.
"The furnace fire of the stone house has been lit for you, Mr. Green. Please allow me to call you that.
Consider it a small gift, you have plenty of time to dig into its mysteries."
Principal Herrera laughed heartily; she looked at Sean, then at the marble staircase in the distance, the meaning was self-evident,
"The four statues are still awake... a small question, may I ask which house you are in at Hogwarts?"
She seemed to be looking forward to this question very much, and the wrinkles at the corners of her eyes smoothed out.
"Ravenclaw."
Sean responded.
"Ms. Isolt loved blue the most because she dreamed of becoming a student of Ravenclaw House at Hogwarts when she was young."
Principal Herrera smiled slowly. Sean only then understood part of the meaning of the headmaster's cranberry and blue robes,
"Please walk to the Sorting Hall, Ilvermorny—democracy and equality are ahead—"
Accompanied by Principal Herrera's high-spirited voice, Sean passed the cold wind in his ears and arrived at the Sorting Hall all the way.
This was a circular hall with a pattern of the Gordian Knot drawn in the center of the floor. On the walls around the hall stood magical creature carvings representing the four houses.
"Horned Serpent: chosen by founder Isolt Sayre, representing the thoughts of wizards and witches, favoring scholars.
Wampus: chosen by Webster Boot, representing the body of wizards and witches, favoring warriors.
Thunderbird: chosen by Chadwick Boot, representing the soul of wizards and witches, favoring adventurers.
Pukwudgie: chosen by James Steward, representing the inner heart of wizards and witches, favoring healers..."
A voice introduced to Sean; Sean looked up, and beside him was a relatively young witch.
From the nameplate on her robe, Sean could know her name—Edelbert Fontana, Transfiguration professor.
Also the later headmaster.
Sean thought.
But... how come the Transfiguration professor can always become the headmaster?
Behind Professor Edelbert Fontana were Professor Tela and Principal Herrera...
And a circle of excited young wizards, all dressed in blue and cranberry school uniforms, chatting and discussing heatedly.
"It's a transfer student! My God, I haven't heard that Ilvermorny accepts transfer students."
"His eyes are really good-looking..."
"Lila, you are really enough, but you are right. However, I heard that the statues are not very happy... as if their sleep was disturbed..."
Sean could hear all kinds of discussions; he was quite surprised; he thought it was late, and there wouldn't be so many spectators.
But in fact, at least a few hundred people were standing on the circular terrace.
Amidst a noisy sound, the young witch spoke:
"Whoever I call now, stand to the front and wait for sorting."
She said.
Sean was stunned for a moment.
Is there... anyone else here?
And, this opening remark was too familiar, like what Professor Maige said at the sorting ceremony.
It seems that Ilvermorny founder Ms. Isolt Sayre liked Hogwarts a bit too much.
"Sean Green!"
She shouted.
The surroundings also fell silent.
So Sean walked to the center; as soon as he took a step, the crystal embedded on the forehead of the Horned Serpent statue suddenly shone brightly.
At the same time, the young witch and Principal Herrera's eyes also lit up.
Behind them, some wizards with Horned Serpent badges on their chests immediately burst into a cheer.
