Chapter 664: Valentine's Day
The teachers sitting opposite Luohate all had stiff faces.
From where he sat, Sean could see a muscle on Professor McGonagall's cheek bulging. Professor Sineipu looked as if someone had just poured a large cup of Skele-Gro down his throat.
Only Dumbledore, who seemed to see nothing at all, was smiling.
"How is the plan going?"
Jia Siting asked in a low voice, controlling his volume well so that only Sean and Hermione could hear.
"A few more days."
Hermione was visibly much more haggard; she had had little rest these days.
"Hermione, I mean, you can rest occasionally."
Jia Siting looked at Hermione, then at Sean, remembering that he seemed to have said such things to more than one friend more than once.
Hermione didn't speak, just couldn't help but yawn.
At this moment, Luohate on the stage clapped his hands, attracting everyone's attention:
"Everyone, Happy Valentine's Day!"
Luohate said loudly,
"So far, thirty-six people have sent me cards, and I would like to express my gratitude to them!
Yes, I took the liberty of arranging this little surprise for everyone—and there's more!"
Luohate looked toward the Great Hall's main entrance, and twelve gloomy-faced dwarfs strode in from the doors leading to the entrance hall.
And they were different from ordinary dwarfs; Luohate had them all wearing golden wings and carrying harps.
"My friendly little Cupids with cards!"
Luohate said joyfully,
"They will be wandering around the school today, delivering Valentine's cards to you! The fun doesn't stop there! I believe my colleagues are all willing to participate enthusiastically! Why not ask Professor Sineipu to teach you how to brew Amortentia?"
This remark caused an uproar.
The Slytherins looked at Luohate with cold sneers, revealing a condescending sympathy.
Looking at Sineipu's expression, it seemed that if anyone asked him how to brew Amortentia, they would surely be forced to drink poison.
If Luo En and Harry saw Professor Sineipu like this, they would certainly run as far away as possible.
But Luohate was different; he was still holding forth about something, occasionally casting his gaze toward Dumbledore.
Sean was not interested in Luohate's absurd behavior, but he was very interested in Luohate's Obliviate spell-casting technique.
That was why he was prepared to act together with Jia Siting and Hermione.
Under the influence of Veritaserum, Sean didn't need to distinguish which of this Obliviate master's words were exaggerated and which were true.
"Well, speaking of which,"
Hermione spoke up at this moment, tiredly and with some caution,
"When the potion hadn't been initially brewed last month, I needed some Diricawl feathers, and these things could only be obtained in Professor Sineipu's private storage room..."
This remark drew some of Sean's attention.
"As a result, at the end of the last Potions class before Christmas, I accidentally caught a glimpse of a Diricawl feather placed in the cabinet at the very front of the dungeon... this is a very precious magical material.
Sean, you are often in the dungeon, did you help?"
Hermione asked in a low voice.
"No."
Sean denied it.
However, he did recall Professor Sineipu's request before Christmas, which was for him to use magic to organize the bird feather materials together in the front cabinet.
It seemed... Professor Sineipu's level of understanding of Luohate was also not low...
"Later, when we wanted to replenish it..."
Jia Siting took over the conversation.
"We found the feathers had been replenished again."
Hermione was clearly lost in thought.
"Don't worry."
Sean said softly; he probably understood.
The professors seemed to... loathe Luohate deeply.
As the few were communicating, Luohate's voice blew in again like a draft:
"If you are interested, Professor Fuliwei is more proficient in illusion magic than any wizard I have ever seen, this cunning fellow!"
Professor Fuliwei immediately buried his face in his hands.
The sight made the entire Ravenclaw student body frown.
Thus, this "special" Valentine's Day began.
All day long, the dwarfs kept barging into their classrooms, delivering Valentine's cards, making the teachers extremely annoyed.
In the afternoon, when the Gryffindor and Ravenclaw students were going upstairs together for a magic class, a dwarf suddenly caught up to Sean.
"Oh, Mr. Sean Green! Please stop!"
A dwarf whose expression turned from cloudy to sunny shouted, using his elbows to push through the crowd and squeeze toward Sean.
Sean's wand pointed, and he vanished.
The dwarf was stunned, then turned and ran toward Harry, who was watching the excitement.
Harry didn't know what he was about to face at this moment, still suppressing a laugh while looking for Sean, who had turned invisible in the crowd.
"Hey, you! Yes, you! Harry Potter!"
The dwarf, whose expression had turned gloomy again, shouted; it had already reached Harry's side.
"This is to..."
Harry was stunned.
Receiving a Valentine's card in front of a group of first-year students was simply too annoying.
Harry then remembered to run away.
But before he could run two steps, the dwarf kicked people's calves all the way, pushed through the crowd, and caught up to him.
"I have a musical message to deliver personally to Harry Potter."
The dwarf said, plucking the harp in an aggressive manner.
"Not here."
Harry said in a low voice, wanting to run away again.
"Stay still!"
The dwarf muttered, grabbed Harry's schoolbag, and pulled him back.
"Let me go!"
Harry roared, pulling hard on the bag.
With a loud tearing sound, his bag was ripped in two.
His books, wand, parchment, and quill fell onto the floor with a clatter, and the ink bottle shattered on top.
Harry scrambled to grab the things scattered on the ground, wanting to pick them all up before the dwarf started singing, resulting in a traffic jam in the corridor.
"Harry doesn't look too good."
Jia Siting, passing by, said to the air.
"Hmm, going to help?"
The air replied.
"Did he forget he's a wizard? Picking it up by hand is too slow."
Hermione slapped her forehead.
Harry was completely panicked, wanting only to escape, but the dwarf hugged both his knees, making him fall heavily to the ground.
"Alright,"
The dwarf said, sitting on Harry's knees,
"Here is your singing Valentine's gift:
His eyes are green as a fresh pickled toad,
His hair is as black as a blackboard, sleek and chic,
I wish he were mine,
He is really handsome,
He is the hero who conquered the Dark Lord—"
The dwarf's voice was not much different from a ghost's wailing.
Hermione covered her upturned mouth, and Jia Siting beside her was already laughing until he couldn't breathe. ===== CHAPTER 665 =====
