Chapter 754: Hogwarts Learning Panel Chapter 323

~6 min read 1,128 words

He was slightly puzzled... could he have been wrong?

Thus, his thoughts returned to the Resurrection Stone.

There exists a fact in the Wizarding World that is easy to notice but known by very few: it is highly probable that Salazar Slytherin was a descendant of Cadmus Peverell, one of the three brothers.

The tale of the three brothers predates the founding of Hogwarts, and the Gaunt family belongs to both the descendants of Slytherin and the descendants of the three brothers.

From this point, it is not difficult to infer that Slytherin likely possessed the Resurrection Stone.

The memories of Ravenclaw in Sean's mind confirmed this as well.

Ravenclaw had once studied Slytherin.

Not just his Parseltongue, but also his Resurrection Stone ring.

The Resurrection Stone, a stone from Death that legend says can bring the dead back to life.

Although, in reality, it cannot truly resurrect the dead; it only summons a substance that is more real than a soul but more illusory than a physical entity, much like Riddle emerging from the diary.

But it clearly involves the mysteries of a wizard's soul.

From Ravenclaw's research, Sean easily formed an inference.

The Resurrection Stone can indeed interfere with a wizard's soul, but its interference is more like a terrifying, crude, ancient magic.

This powerful alchemical creation can break through the Veil and summon souls that should have passed on.

But that is all; the soul it summons is an empty shell, missing the most important things.

Without a link to the wizard's soul, the Resurrection Stone can only summon a wizard "devoid of magic."

—Possessing neither the wizard's wisdom nor the wizard's emotions.

It was supposed to be an item used by Death to mock the greedy, but now it seemed there was an additional turning point.

It can summon a wizard's soul.

In the dream, this was a capability Sean absolutely needed.

On the other side, Qiluo had already begun cautiously; he let out a loud shout, and rolling, surging sounds came from the room.

It was originally a very small wisp of flame, but it quickly began to grow, and before long, the flames began to transform, turning into a large group of beasts made of fire:

Fire salamanders, Chimaeras, and dragons; they leaped up, fell down, and leaped up again.

The accumulated junk in the room was tossed into the air, falling into their fanged mouths, landing on their sharp-clawed feet, and finally being swallowed by the hellish inferno.

Those fire beasts surrounded the ring in the box, closing in tighter and tighter, claws, tentacles, and tails lashing out with a *pop-pop* sound, the heat waves surrounding it like walls.

At this moment, Sean was exceptionally careful, because Fiendfyre is extremely difficult to control, and Professor Qiluo clearly could not be disturbed right now.

Sean looked toward the outside of the house again; it was quiet, pitch-black, with only the occasional startled bird call.

It seemed he had guessed wrong.

Headmaster Dumbledore did not like following a young wizard that much.

Soon, the smoke and heat waves became suffocatingly dense; in front of Sean, the evil fire was devouring the Gaunt shack, devouring the filthy walls, and devouring all the secrets in this room.

As the various monsters hissed in unison, a heart-wrenching scream appeared.

"Damn thing—"

That voice roared in pain, making Sean and Professor Qiluo's eardrums buzz.

Professor Qiluo was clearly familiar with this thing; he couldn't stop trembling, his whole body shaking like a sieve.

Just as that pitch-black thing with a twisted face was about to rush over, Qiluo's veins bulged, and he let out a roar, his wand tip erupting with raging flames.

The waves of fire were visibly more intense, and the thing's wailing grew even louder.

If Sean hadn't cast a silencing spell long ago, the villagers of Little Hangleton would likely have been awakened.

Sean did not want to be discovered, did not want to be summoned by the Ministry of Magic, and he also knew that the more corrupt an institution, the more it likes to flaunt its power.

Qiluo was still trembling, his eyes bloodshot, yet he stared fixedly at that human-head-shaped black mist.

"Come on, damn you!"

He cursed as if in relief.

The confrontation lasted for several minutes, and finally, the Fiendfyre burned out.

A ring fell to the ground.

Qiluo was trembling with exhaustion, supported by a pair of hands.

"Professor, thank you for your hard work."

The voice beside his ear said.

"Ah..."

He rasped, unable to speak.

His body had not suffered severe damage, but just now, his spirit had undoubtedly undergone a trial.

Voldemort, that was Voldemort...

"Oh, have I arrived just in time?"

An unexpected voice rang out.

Sean instinctively hooked his finger, tucking the Resurrection Stone into the Wizard's Book.

"Headmaster Dumbledore."

Sean looked up.

The old wizard with a long, white beard stood at the doorway, gazing at Sean kindly.

Sean sighed; it seemed Headmaster Dumbledore did like following young wizards.

They had destroyed the Horcrux, but that did not mean they had destroyed the curse.

Sean had originally thought he would have plenty of time to break it; if the attempt failed, they could still destroy the Resurrection Stone. Now it seemed time always liked to play tricks on people.

"Professor, do you remember what we discussed?"

Sean whispered to Professor Qiluo.

"Of course."

Having recovered, Qiluo stood beside Sean without hesitation, watching Dumbledore vigilantly along with Butler Pukey.

"This will be dangerous."

Sean said.

"For your will."

Qiluo said, enunciating each word.

At the doorway, the aged voice sounded again:

"We need to talk?"

Dumbledore's smile faded; he looked as if he had suddenly aged significantly.

"Hmm."

Sean tightened his grip on his wand.

Admittedly, he had learned many spells, including some with considerable power, but facing Dumbledore, he felt uncertain.

"I have searched for it for a long time... I have had to learn to pass the days in guilt and extreme sorrow; that was the price of my shame... but now, has everything taken a turn?"

Dumbledore said in a hoarse voice.

Sean saw that the light of wisdom no longer flickered in Dumbledore's eyes; he knew that there was a probability that this greatest of wizards had already been swayed by that overwhelming emotion.

"Even if it will be dangerous?"

Sean asked.

"Even if it will be dangerous."

Dumbledore's deep eyes were like a boundless ocean.

"Child, I want you to understand, this is my choice.

Love and death are always one; the will to seek love is also the willingness to face death."

He said.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, are you willing to give me a practical class?"

Sean asked suddenly.

"Of course."

Dumbledore smiled. ===== CHAPTER 755 =====
