Chapter 759: Chatting

~5 min read 857 words

"Walk with me?"

Dumbledore said with a smile.

Sean nodded; the house in front of him was left with only a pitch-black frame, emitting scorching heat.

Professor Qiluo waved his wand with a very small movement, and a ring that had not been completely burned was inadvertently buried.

He looked obscurely at Sean, and the young wizard lifted his finger, and the tattered ring was quietly collected into the Wizard's Book.

Next, Sean would have to find a way to break Voldemort's curse.

"Professor, thank you."

Sean said to Qiluo.

"Ah, ah... not at all, Mr. Green, I didn't help with anything..."

Qiluo stammered.

"You faced Voldemort head-on, you defeated him."

Sean said.

"No, no... it... it is, yes, I destroyed a part of him, just a part..."

Qiluo's knuckles holding the wand turned white.

"The fact is, you did it, Professor.

Someone told me that what is important is to constantly struggle, struggle, and struggle again; only then can evil be controlled, although it can never be completely eliminated..."

Sean said slowly, his gaze looking at the quiet night, looking at the ground where the ring had just been buried.

A blood-like, pitch-black, viscous substance seeped out from the ground.

That was a part of the ring, split into fragments.

When it cracked, all three of Sean heard that terrible, painful scream; it turned out it didn't just come from that mass of black mist, but also from that thing that had just shattered.

Qiluo stood blankly in place, looking at that creepy ground.

"Your will, is Qiluo's will."

Finally, he said.

Not far away, Dumbledore watched the conversation between the two with a smile.

He was unhurried, and even appeared interested.

Until Qiluo Apparated away and Butler Pukey entered the Wizard's Book, Dumbledore tapped his knuckles and lit his wand.

"Let's go, dear Mr. Green."

Dumbledore raised his wand, the outline of his tall body presenting a soft halo.

Little Hangleton had been hit by northwest winds for two days; even dog barking could hardly be heard in this small village.

The sky was an endless leaden color, with only a faint yellow patch on the far eastern horizon, feebly yet stubbornly seeming to want to slowly melt the leaden sky cover.

Scattered seven or eight low houses lay on the ground like beetles.

The new straw stacks were like withered wild mushrooms; near them and slightly further away by the river, the smell of mud carried the scent of spring.

"You must know the story of the three brothers; Beedle stated it very clearly, the lover the second brother lost did not truly come back to life.

She was sent by Death to lure the second brother into Death's clutches, therefore she was cold, distant, aloof, and frustrating."

Sean said slowly in the unclear night, before dawn arrived.

"Do you think I should have thought of that?"

Dumbledore said.

"I don't know."

Sean thought for a moment.

"I don't know either, child. People without hope can only endure life... you did very well.

I know that the future promised by some is a sweet lie, but look, I am just willing to be fooled one more time."

Dumbledore's gaze was deep, his robes fluttering in the breeze before dawn.

"The Elder Wand, the Resurrection Stone, the Invisibility Cloak.

They might be useful; I once seized them at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons.

Now I don't know how much I have grown.

But I think I have figured out one question. I can never become the true conqueror of death, because a true conqueror would never try to escape Death.

He would gladly accept the fate of mortality, and know that there are things in the world of the living far worse than death.

Humans always love to choose the things most disadvantageous to them.

Even I, Albus Dumbledore, would find that the Invisibility Cloak is the easiest to refuse. This only shows that a clever person like me is actually, like others, a big fool."

Dumbledore and Sean crossed the straw stack together.

They also found a snake frozen before spring here.

"You are not a fool."

Sean said.

"I am very glad you recognize that. However, I was guarded against like a fool by my dear student today.

The young voice was unwilling to say anything in the old ears, which actually disappointed me."

Dumbledore raised his eyebrows, pretending to be surprised.

Sean stopped talking; Dumbledore looked over with a brilliant smile, and one could see his ears were slightly flushed.

The wind was blowing slightly, and it was about to be dawn.

That faint yellow patch on the horizon finally dissolved the leaden sky.

"I once thought this was the hardship of life, but look, this is the content of life.

And even if this life is hardship, that doesn't matter..."

Dumbledore said slowly, while chatting.

"Why is that?"

Sean asked softly.

He couldn't imagine how Headmaster Dumbledore had resisted the temptation of the Resurrection Stone.

The Resurrection Stone, no matter how sad its result actually makes people, in the end, it can indeed summon souls. ===== CHAPTER 760 =====
